Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee

Chapter 21 Surrounded By Bullies

I went inside with a heavy heart, making my way to the kitchen where the two of them were still cooking.

“I was just telling him how apologetic I am for my behavior. So, I am preparing you some food as an apology,” Caspian said, smiling as he glanced in my direction, holding a spatula in his h*and and a deceptive look in his eyes.

“Although I’m not hungry for this. I’m craving a fruit bowl,” I requested, struggling to maintain composure and conceal my tears from them.

I can’t believe they manipulated me so easily, only to talk negatively about me behind my back.

“Huh! Well then, I’ll make you a fruit bowl,” he forced a smile. I could sense his desire to punch me in the face, and honestly, it was terrible.

If he were just my contracted mate, I would have been fine, but he’s also my fated mate, and that’s slowly killing me. “I’m also deeply sorry. I don’t know why I acted that way, but I have anger issues, and I’m aware of them. I promise to work on them to avoid such a mess in the future,” Bellamy sheepishly smiled, causing me to gulp and nod.

“Does that mean what you said about breaking up with your girlfriend and being loyal to me wasn’t just a ploy to sleep with me?” I asked, maintaining a faint grin on my l*ips, although the shimmer in my eyes betrayed my pain.

It wasn’t the sparkle of a contented mate; those were tears of anguish and suffering.

“Yeah,” he averted his gaze from me, lying.

“Hmm, then tell her,” I insisted. He did a double take, then turned to look at Caspian, who shrugged and struggled to suppress his laughter. I wondered if their connection was even genuine.

“Right now?” Bellamy asked, and when I nodded, he mustered a weak smile. “I don’t think she’ll be available at the moment. I’ll tell her later,” he cleared his throat as if hoping I wouldn’t notice his deceit so easily.

“Okay,” I nodded, and let out a sarcastic laugh.

“Do you think I’m just fooling around with you?” He closed his eyes, releasing a sigh, and when he opened them again, pure anger glimmered within.

His alpha ego wasn’t pleased with my doubts.

“It depends on you and your actions. For now, I’ll be in the living room, waiting for my fruit bowl,” I declared, forcing a smile as I glanced at Caspian, whose smile had vanished.

The anger etched on his face stemmed from being ordered to serve food to his mate.

Leaving the kitchen behind, I noticed Emre returning without Wolvin. It was evident that Wolvin had gone out hunting.

“You know…” Emre began, “you and your father are alike,” he mumbled, oblivious to the intricate plan devised by the two alphas in the kitchen.

“Emre!” Bellamy hurriedly interjected, his voice barely above a whisper, clearly wanting Emre to cease discussing matters before involving him.

“Hm! And what do you have to say about yourself, Emre?” I scoffed, refusing to let him walk away and plot against me.

“My father and I served in your pack since we were children. My entire family revolved around serving your greedy father, and look at what they did to us,” he grunted, shrugging off

Bellamy’s grip. Caspian emerged from the kitchen, holding a visibly disoriented fruit bowl that I assumed he made in a fit of anger.

“If you despised me so much… why did you marry me? Why did you vow to take care of me and protect me? Because now, it seems to me that you all hate my father and me,” my emotions were too raw to conceal at this point.

“What have I done?” Bellamy instantly retorted, but I rolled my eyes at him. He understood that I was no longer buying their insincere apologies.

“Oh well,” Caspian shrugged, finally feeling liberated to show his true ignorant self in front of me. He began eating from the bowl now that he no longer had to maintain a facade. “I told you guys… she is despicable,” Caspian commented, and the others nodded. The worst part about them was that they knew how to make someone feel unsafe.

They swiftly closed in on me, and I had a flashback to high school. This was how bullies used to corner me. “Come to think of it… she was so reluctant to remove her pendant initially, yet she did it when she wanted to establish a mate bond with us,” Bellamy taunted, walking in circles around me with the others.

“Wait, did she take off that pendant around her n*eck in order to fabricate a false mate bond with us?” Emre inquired, his expression filled with shock as the two nodded in agreement. “Perhaps she’s using that pendant to create an artificial mate bond between us,” Bellamy suggested, hope gleaming in his eyes, causing me to feel even worse for myself.

They desperately wanted to dismiss the genuine mate bond they felt with me.

“So, you know what we should do? We need to make her take it off and experience that false mate bond with Wolvin too,” Caspian finally seemed more at ease, having convinced himself that this pendant was the root cause of all the turmoil.

“You! We’re going to bring Wolvin, and you’re going to remove it,” Emre yelled, pointing his f*inger in my direction. They thought making Wolvin feel the mate bond with me would be a punishment to him, like they are being punished. “I won’t take it off,” I stated, trembling inside but forcing a confident look.

The three of them ceased their circling, with Bellamy now facing me.

“You’re defying us?” Bellamy shouted, thankfully remaining in his spot instead of getting closer.

“Yes, I am,” I muttered, stomping my foot.

“A female mate is expected to obey her mate, especially when he’s an alpha,” Caspian muttered, revealing his true nature.

“Or we can make her remove it,” the determined look in Emre’s eyes frightened me.

That’s when Caspian understood and stealthily approached the main door to lock it. At that moment, my heart felt like it had stopped beating.
