Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee

Chapter 25 They Started The War.

The moment I uttered his name, he raised his h*ead to meet my gaze, and a surge of anger propelled me back into the room.

“Damn it, how the hell did they expect me to react to this?” I muttered, pacing back and forth with growing agitation.

Not even five minutes had passed when the four of them entered the room, searching for me.

“Why didn’t you greet him properly?”

Bellamy confronted me, standing tall with his h*ands on his waist and wearing an exhausted expression.

“What is he doing here?” I raised my voice slightly, careful not to let Ron overhear me. He would do anything to witness my suffering at the h*ands of those my father claimed were better than him.

I would never want him to see me in pain.

“Genevieve, stop acting like a child. We’ re all adults here. He’s our friend, and he came to meet us,” Caspian retorted, correcting me with a scoff.

“How can he be your friend? He betrayed me and caused me so much pain. He’s the reason I’m stuck with you four a*ssholes,” I stared at them, my words choked with tears that welled up in my eyes.

It was disheartening to see them act as if I shouldn’t have reacted to his presence.

“And here we go again. She never fails to remind us that she sees us as beneath her,” Emre shrugged, oblivious to the fact that it wasn’t always about social status. His own insecurities prevented him from considering the nuances of the situation.

“Why don’t you guys just tell her the reason you invited him?” Wolvin finally spoke up, appearing quite at ease.

So, they had a specific motive? “Fine,” Bellamy shrugged. “Since you weren’t helping us, we sought out an active alpha whose name is on the list of individuals with access to other deserving royals, as per the rules. We believed we deserved that access,” he continued, revealing his desperation to make it onto that list.

“We want access to the Royal lockers,” he then added in simple words.

“Now, be a good girl and come out to greet him,” Caspian mumbled, smirking at my reaction.

Emre and Bellamy exited the room, while Caspian remained briefly to adjust his hair before giving me one last wicked grin and making his way to the living room. I felt devastated.

Gradually, the pain began to well up inside me, and I started hyperventilating.

“You should have granted them access,” Wolvin, who was still in the room, leaning against the wall, commented.

“I can’t believe my father arranged my marriage to you devils,” I whispered, holding back tears but wearing a somber expression.

“You needed protection. It’s time you face the harsh reality of this world, princess. Not everything will go according to your wishes. Not everyone will like you simply because you’re an alpha king’s daughter,” his carefree tone only added to my heartache.

“Fine. Then go tell your friends that I’ll be right there to sabotage whatever plans they’re making,” I retorted, turning to face him.

He nodded, maintaining his intense gaze.

“You’re starting a war, princess,” he remarked before grabbing his phone and leaving the living room.

“I’ll ensure they face failure at every turn,” I muttered to myself, nodding determinedly and resolving not to show any signs of hurt.

After fixing my makeup, I emerged from the bedroom and made my way to meet their friend. Ron sat comfortably on my couch, chuckling along with the others.

“Hey, Ron. How are you?” I joined them, noticing the surprised expressions on their faces.

Even Ron seemed taken aback by my change in attitude. I had always behaved a certain way around him. Monique had made me adhere to silence, but that wasn’t who I was anymore. I grew tired of listening to others and letting them make decisions for me.

“I’m fine. Congratulations on your mating ceremony,” Ron awkwardly adjusted his posture, but I caught him sneakily glancing at my exposed cleavage. It wasn’t intentional on my part, as I didn’t crave his attention.

“Thank you,” I replied, leaning back on the sofa.

“You changed your hairstyle. It suits you,” I commented, forcing a smile on my l*ips. I noticed my mates exchanging secretive glances and then casting sidelong glances at each other.

“Genevieve, why don’t you go check on what Wolvin is doing outside?” Caspian spoke slyly, attempting to get me to leave the vicinity.

“He’s probably doing his usual morning routine of running around,” I shrugged, refocusing my attention on Ron. It was difficult to pretend that I was interested in him. But sometimes, in order to achieve greater success, we have to let go of smaller battles.

“You look great,” Ron whispered, his eyes once again scanning my figure.

“Have you seen the backyard? It’s really pleasant. The fresh morning breeze will invigorate your lungs—” I was rambling when Bellamy elbowed me, signaling me to be quiet.

“His lungs are fine. Go outside, Genevieve,” he grunted, urging me to obey their wishes.

“Oh, by the way, my girlfriend is coming over. I hope that’s alright,” Ron interjected, just as he announced it, and to my dismay, my cousin sister entered the room with Ron’s friend.

Just as I thought I could play a game with them, I reached a dead-end.

“Hi, I’m Kit Browning,” she greeted with a wide smile as she entered the living room with Gale, the jerk who would always encourage Ron to cheat on me.

I sat in silence while everyone continued to watch me, their faces filled with amusement. They were all too eager to see how I would react now.

“If you’ll excuse me,” I forced the words out with difficulty, swallowing h*ard and plastering a smile on my l*ips. Their constant stares made me feel sick to my stomach. The fact that each and every one of them knew that Kit’s presence in my home would be traumatic for me, yet they welcomed her here, felt incredibly unfair to me.

There it was, anger bubbling up inside me. I had come to the realization that these men had married me solely for their own personal gain. If that was the case, I was determined to become their greatest enemy. Just when they believed they had manipulated me enough, I would betray them.
