Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee

Chapter 47 Such A Gem! (Genevieve Swan)

“Go on. I think he’s right. There’s no other way,” Bellamy said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I nodded but didn’t accept his h*and, and I could tell he noticed because he slowly lowered it as I started to follow him.

I kept turning around to look at t ethers, wondering what they will be saying behind my back now. I wouldn’t put anything past them.

Suddenly, I felt so blue. I didn’t want to be that person, but strangely enough, when I was the center of attention among my mates, I felt amazing. Even when we playfully bickered, I enjoyed knowing that all eyes were on me. So when he called me the wrong name, it really ruined my mood.

It made me feel very uncomfortable that while he was with me, he was thinking about somebody else. And who that somebody else was, I have no idea.

“Look at that bush,” Wolvin said as we entered the woods and came across a densely treed area.

“Go over there and get it done,” he directed, and I nodded my h*ead, taking steady steps behind the bush.

“Don’t worry, I’ll stay here,” he assured me, his back turned. Although I intended to ask him about this mysterious Gem person, I found myself focusing on the relief of releasing the pent-up stress. It had never felt so amazing. I let it all out while also looking around in concern.

Throughout my life, I had never truly appreciated having access to a restroom until that night. Once I finished, I stood up and adjusted my dress before stepping out from behind the bush. I was finally relieved.

“Thank you for your help,” I grumbled, walking ah*ead of him.

“What’s gotten into you now?” Wolvin complained, hastening his steps to catch up with me before I walked into trouble with the bullies.

“Nothing,” I stopped abruptly, turning to face him and raising my voice.

He continued to gaze at me, our faces at the same level since I stood on a slightly elevated spot now.

“Did something crawl up your a*ss suddenly?” he muttered, using our lingo for the first time.

“No! Why? Does Gem complain about it every time she pees in the woods?” My insecurities got the better of me, and I couldn’t hide my desperation any longer. I ended up exposing my jealousy toward this mysterious Gem.

“Who?” Wolvin closed his eyes and shook his h*ead, trying to make sense of what he was hearing.

“Don’t pretend you have no idea what I’m talking about. You called me Gem, so who is Gem?” I demanded, crossing my arms over my chest.

I couldn’t believe I was so openly displaying my jealousy. It was so apparent that even Wolvin seemed bewildered. He simply stared at me, his palms turned upward as if silently asking me to explain myself.

“You know what, big guy? Save it. I don’t even care. I just don’t want you calling me by the wrong name,” I may have sounded like a spoiled princess, but I didn’t care. At least he would be more cautious around me from now on.

Just as I was about to walk away, I felt his h*and grip my wrist and turn me around. Clearly, he hadn’t judged his strength correctly, as his intention was only to stop me and redirect me.

Instead, I found myself landing against his chest.

But he wasn’t taken by surprise. “I didn’t call you the wrong name. I guess I called you the very correct name, Gem!” he maintained deep eye contact, his flirtatious manner sending shivers down my spine.

“Why do you think you can’t be a Gem?” he continued, shocking me. I gulped but pushed him back, barely budging him.

It was unusual for Wolvin to say something like that, and it caught me off guard. I never responded to him because I was too shy to look at him again. We quickly walked away to the road, and I tried to create distance between us because the situation felt awkward.

“Are we all set?” Bellamy asked, and I nodded sheepishly.

“Then let’s continue our journey. The night is upon us, and I’m getting some unsettling vibes from the woods,” Emre interjected, cutting off Bellamy. The way he kept looking around made me feel like he sensed something. Wolvin silently nodded, indicating that he, too, picked up on the energy.

“Guys! I think—I’ll just go quickly take care of something,” Caspian announced, his voice growing angrier as he sought our attention.

“What kind of trouble are you in now?” Wolvin chuckled, crossing his arms and mocking Caspian.

“What are you? A dog?” Emre reminded of his own remark, making Caspian to not focus on them and running into the woods.

“Be quick and stay aware of your surroundings,” Emre yelled at him, but Caspian was too rushed to pay attention. I wanted to ask them what was happening, but then something caught my attention.

“Did you hear those whispers?” I asked Wolvin, who immediately straightened his back and moved behind me. I was taken aback when he held my arms from behind, leaving me confused. Emre sprinted to stand in front of me, while Bellamy appeared ready to defend me against anyone who approached.

In that moment, I turned to look at each of my mates, observing how quickly they had positioned themselves to shield me. It filled me with a sense of giddiness, happiness, and security.

“Don’t worry, we won’t let anything happen to you,” Wolvin whispered in my ear from behind, his t*ouch igniting a deeper sensation within me.

Lost in his t*ouch and the intensity in Emre’s eyes, I nearly lost my balance when a scream erupted from the woods.

“F*UCK!” The loud exclamation belonged to none other than Caspian. They exchanged glances, realizing that Caspian had been left alone in the woods.

Without wasting any more time, Wolvin grabbed my h*and, and they hurriedly ventured into the woods. Despite Caspian often being a nuisance, I couldn’t help but worry about his well-being.

Tears welled up in my eyes, a clear indication of my concern for Caspian. As we reached the location from where his voice had originated, a disturbing sight awaited us.
