Chapter 212
When Lia woke up next in the morning, she saw that Arthur wasn’t on her side. Hawk was sprawled on the bed. She got up and looked out of the window when she heard faint murmurs. There were guards out there and Arthur was talking to a group of them. Hunter had wasted no time in sending warriors to protect her and his sons. She sighed and turned to lean against the glass of the window. Her gaze fell on Hawk who had dark circles beneath his eyes which was odd. She sauntered to him, examining his n*aked b*ody and saw that there was a small but deep bruise on the side of his c*hest. She gasped and brushed it. He hissed on the t*ouch and jerked open his eyes.
“Lia!” he said, grabbing her h*and.
“How did you get that?” she asked, paling at the sight of it.
“It’s nothing. Come and sleep with me. It will be fine by afternoon.”

“But how did you manage to get hurt? As far as I know, I don’t have claws that can rake your skin and flesh so deep!”
He exhaled roughly. Then he grabbed her wrist and pulled her on his c*hest. “I went out yesterday night to look for that bastard and Maggie. I met some hooligans in an alley. All of them attacked me at once. One of them had a knife which he swung at me and before I could tackle him, he had already slashed me on the side.”
“F*uck!” she breathed and curled her arms around his n*eck. She buried her face in his n*eck. “I am so sorry. Because of me you are in this mess.” A tear trickled down her eyes and fell on his n*eck.
“Hey, baby girl?” he curled his arms around her. “Don’t apologize. This was the least I could do. I went back to the frat house where I visited the swimming pool. I sniffed Maggie along with Garry out there. Following the sniff trail, I reached a rundown building in the slum area of the town but their scents got so mixed up with smells of alcohol, sweat, s*hit and rotten meat that it was impossible to trace them. Since it was late in the night, some goons thought I was an easy target. Little did they know that they were an easy target.” He chuckled and t*ightened his arms. “I love you, baby girl. I’d do anything for you. This was nothing.” He cupped her cheeks and lifted her face. He k*issed her tears away. “At least now we know where they are. It won’t be too difficult to find those rats.” She closed her eyes and pressed her l*ips against his soft and pillowy ones. He opened for her immediately and she delved her t*ongue inside. Once she had k*issed him to quell her fear, she said, “Next time don’t go alone. If you do that, I am going to be very mad.”
He laughed and nodded. “I would love to see your mad side.”
She smacked him and he let out a deep chortle. Arthur opened the door and came in next to them. She turned her face to look at him as he narrowed his eyes on both of them. She extended her h*and to him and he took it. “Come here,” she said. A few seconds later, she was straddling Hawk’s t*highs with his h*ardness filling her c*ore while Arthur came behind her, pushed her forward a little and entered her a-hole.
At college they were surrounded by at least half a dozen warriors, all in casual clothes who melted in the students easily. It was different that a sudden influx of very handsome, tall and muscular boys made the girls go ga-ga. Every now and then one or the other was flirting with them.
“This is a bad idea,” Lia muttered under her breath.
“Forget about them, Lia,” Arthur said, keeping his h*and on the small of her back. “They know that they have to protect you.”
By the time it was afternoon, she was too hungry. She went to the cafeteria along with her mates only to find Liam along with Cherry. “Hey!” Liam waved at them. Along with Cherry he came to sit on the same table. “Yesterday, you guys went away without telling me. I hope nothing urgent.”
“There was a family emergency,” Hawk replied dryly. His h*and went to Lia’s shoulder as if he was trying to tell everyone that she was his property.
“I see,” Liam gave a t*ight smile. “So what do you think? Will you join the team?”
Arthur tilted his head. “I am not sure. We haven’t had time to think about it.”
Liam pursed his l*ips t*ight. “Look Arthur, we really need your help. None of the professional teams are approaching us. With a few wins this season, my boys will be able to sign up with good teams, we will get sponsorship and some of these guys need scholarships. If it hadn’t been so bad, I wouldn’t have asked you.” He looked expectantly at them. His gaze darted to Lia. “You have to convince them, Lia. I know that they listen to you.”
Lia blushed heavily. She didn’t want to admit that they both listened to her so openly. People would start speculating about her relationship with them. Arthur’s c*hest rumbled with a growl.
Liam shook his head. “I am sorry that I sounded inappropriate. It was just that we all know that you are in a relationship with Arthur and that his twin brother lives in the same house.” He waved at Hawk. “I mean you all are like a family. Please…” He took an exasperated sigh. “I am pretty desperate.”
“Liam,” Hawk snapped. “We will think about it.”
Liam took a ragged breath. “I hope you think in the favor of the college team.” He looked at Cherry who was regarding Lia with narrowed eyes. “Let us go!” They got up and walked to their table where other team members were sitting.
“You should join the team,” Lia said. “Liam sounded pretty desperate.” She sighed with relief that Liam and others thought that they were all staying like a family. It suited her.
“Do you know what that means?” Arthur replied, picking up his cheese and bacon sub. “That means that we will be away from you for more time we can afford. And now with Garry and Maggie out there, it would be just too risky.”
“I don’t think so,” Lia said and took a bite of the sub. “Father has sent so many warriors to protect me. I am pretty safe. Those players need you. Just help them this season and that’s all.”
Arthur scratched the back of his head. “We’ll think about it.”
For the next two days, nothing happened. Along with the wolves, the twins had scoured the streets of the slum for Garry and Maggie, but when they reached the apartment, they saw that it was abandoned. Some syringes and small bottles were strewn across the floor. The place stank of rat-s*hit. “F*uck!” Hawk growled. “Where the hell have they gone?”
A week later, Lia was sitting on the benches of the soccer stadium, watching her mates play it with the team. They were perfect. Every time the ball came to Arthur, he would make sure that he converted it into a goal and the same was with Hawk. The two had superb coordination and were faster than the rest of the team members. Every time there was a goal, the players cheered for them and the coach would go jumping around. She giggled at their enthusiasm because little did everyone else know that her mates were werewolves. They excelled in everything. Once the game got over, they all came to her side. Cherry was sitting just a few benches up. She rushed to them and stood leaning against the rail, her eyes on Liam. Lia heard the coach saying, “We are fixing up a match next week with the Red Eagles. You both have to be there!”
Arthur glanced at Lia and winked at her. She grinned, unable to take her eyes off his b*ody that was covered with sweat. He lifted his tattooed arm to wipe the sweat from his forehead and she clenched her t*highs. She rose to her feet. She needed to pee. Hawk looked at her and m*outhed, where to. She showed him the little f*inger signaling her urgency.
There were two girls in the toilet who gave her a bored look. She stood in the line. They left talking to each other and Lia hurried inside the toilet stall. When she came out, her eyes fell on Garry. “You!”
“Hush!” he hissed. The next instant he sprayed some gas on her and she succumbed to darkness.
“Quick!” he said to Maggie who was standing in the shadows. Maggie came to him and made her wear a long hoodie. She pulled the hoodie over her head. “There are guards on the outside!”
“We have to take the window!” Garry pointed to the only window on the other side.
“Thank God, I sprayed us with a lot of citrus scent!” Maggie said and rushed to open the window. “Give her to me,” she said.
Garry transferred an unconscious Lia to her and pushed the window up. He got out of the window.
Maggie transferred Lia to him through the window and then jumped out. “Hurry up!” she hissed. “They will notice her absence and will come after us. We have five minutes.”
Garry hauled her on his shoulder and then dashed towards the woods from where they entered the parking area. They heard loud noises behind them, growls and yips. Maggie opened the door of the truck. Garry shoved Lia inside the seat and jumped at the steering. As Maggie sat in, he was already speeding away. Maggie closed the door. She picked up a bottle of scent and threw it on the ground. It shattered into a thousand pieces, the scent spreading in the air quickly. Garry just sped away. After a few miles, she threw another scent bottle. “This is going to lead them elsewhere!” She rolled up the glass window and spared a look at Lia who was still unconscious in the back seat. “What are you going to do with her?” she asked.
“First, I am going to drive us all out of here to an unknown place.”
“And then?”
Garry chuckled. “Do you like a threesome?”
Maggie raised her eyebrow. “Can’t say I hate it.”
Garry and Maggie laughed raunchily. Their plan was successful. Garry looked at Lia and l*icked his l*ips. He had been imagining how she tasted.
