Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K
Chapter 224
Ranger entered the caged ring after Alpha Beau, his eyes fixed on her. This close to her, he could scent her smell of melting chocolates and morning coffee mixed with that of sweet skin. He could feel her spiked heart rate and how she breathed lightly as she tried her best to ignore him. She peeked at him through her eyelashes and gasped and immediately turned her eyes to Alpha Beau.
Burned with jealousy, he almost looked forward to wrestling with Beau and perhaps snapping a bone or two of his. There was nowhere written in the rules that you couldn’t do that. As for Ethan-well he was going to deal with that obstacle when the right time came.
Keya felt embarrassed staring at his nudity, except for that loincloth. She averted her gaze, her breath lodged in her t*hroat. Heat crept on her cheeks when their gazes met. She averted her gaze immediately. After trying her best not to look at him, she eventually gave up and looked at him. The way his b*ody was chiseled in planes and angles, it was tantalizing.
When their gazes met for the second time, she wanted to tear it away, but found herself trapped by his beautiful body. She lowered her eyes and let herself take the fill of the most beautiful wolf she had ever seen. Her eyes went to his c*hest which molded into the coiled muscles of his stomach, over the faint scars that were reminders of his battles and wins.

She let out a rough exhale when her eyes drifted lower to the portion where he was clothed and her breath quickened. She forced her gaze lower to the thick columns of his t*highs. And then to his arms that seemed to bulge under her stare. He actually smirked at her when their eyes met again. And then the shameless peac*ock pumped his muscles a little more as he walked in the cage. His biceps popped and she heard other girls going completely gaga over him. She shouldn’t but she felt like she wanted to gouge the eyes of every girl who was ogling at him and there were plenty.
She bit her l*ip as liquid heat pooled in her belly and she crossed her l*egs t*ightly to stop her reaction, but a m*oan left her and she coughed immediately to stop anyone from hearing it. She looked at Beau who had closely shaved deep brown hair. He was grinning and waving at the crowd who cheered him, in complete contrast to Ranger who only stayed focused on her.
She gripped her dress in her lap, gathering it further. In turn her t*highs got exposed. A menacing rumble from him was heard and the whole crowd went silent.
Scared as hell, the emcee entered the cage to announce the match. Within a few seconds both the Alphas met at the center of the ring with a deafening roar. They barreled into each other like mountains of muscles. Beau ducked and went to grab his c*hest. He tried to lift Ranger, but instead, Ranger went down heavily on him and in a matter of seconds, he was pinned beneath Ranger. The referee had to come and intervene in order for Ranger to stop him from choking. He gave a warning to Ranger and they started wrestling again.
Twice Ranger was pinned by Beau but in the end, it seemed like Ranger was playing with Alpha Beau. Beau grabbed his torso and with a menacing growl picked him up and tossed him to the other side. He crashed against the iron bars that shook and rattled. But the next moment, he got up and with a ferocious roar barreled into Beau. In the next few minutes, Beau was on the ground, wheezing and p*anting and pinned by Ranger in a way that he couldn’t get up. The referee declared Ranger the winner. They left the arena after shaking h*ands. Beau chuckled as they went back to the cabin and congratulated him but Ranger didn’t acknowledge it, still jealous that Keya watched him but didn’t even cheer for him, though when he pinned Beau under him, she gasped. His eyes went to Ethan who was preparing to go and fight with his opponent, Alpha Jorr of the Crimson pack. Their fight went on for forty-five minutes in which Alpha Jorr came out as the winner. It was as if Ethan wasn’t even trying to win.
At the end of the tournament, which lasted until the evening, five winners were announced by the emcee. “Today’s tournament winners are, Alpha Ranger, Alpha Jorr, Alpha Beau, Alpha Mickey and Ethan Torri.” Alpha Kenny scored the least points. Since Ethan’s name was announced in the last, it was as if he was barely choosing to stay in the tournament.
Vera asked Ranger to go back to the hotel, but Ranger didn’t. He couldn’t because his wolf wasn’t allowing him to budge from his place, his entire focus on a certain blond who was wearing a golden dress and a diamond tiara. “We have to go back, Alpha Ranger,” he hissed in a whisper. “There is a dinner hosted by the princess in the evening!”
That made him snap out of his trance. Without a word he got up mumbling about manners, wore his black p*ants and went to his jeep. On the way, he met Ethan who was arguing with his father. As soon as they saw him, they stopped arguing and glared at him. He scoffed as he passed them but, on the inside, he was burning with rage. He wanted to smother the bear-shifter’s life. Vera rushed to be on his side when he growled as he neared him. “Please Alpha Ranger, we have dinner with Princess Keya!”
Ranger gritted his teeth and walked away from there. He had to plot a way to k*ill him.
Keya came back to her room, all riled up. When Beau had picked him up and threw him to the iron bars, she heard a collective gasp from the audience. On an impulse, she got up from her chair and rushed to the rail. She bent over it to see where he was and was surprised to see that the wolf had nimbly got up from the ground and dove right at Beau. She was sure that he had bruises on his back. This wasn’t wrestling. She was sure that Beau had broken at least one rule, and she had the power to eliminate him, but she wouldn’t. On the other h*and, why was she relieved that Ranger won?
Those conflicting emotions were of no good to her. So she decided that during the dinner, she was going to avoid him at all costs. When Faria came, she took a long bath. “Pour a generous amount of lavender and rose in my bath,” she instructed. “I want to wear the cerulean silk gown that daddy got from the human town. Make sure that you give me the matching sandals.”
Faria blinked her eyes in complete confusion and surprise. The girl who was reluctant to go for the Alpha Trials was now looking forward to the dinner?
Before closing the bathroom door, she said, “Faria, could you please scrub my back?”
Faria gasped. This was the first time Keya had asked her to do anything on her body. “Sure!” she said and hurried inside with her.
Keya took an hour to dress up. When Faria picked out the cerulean gown from the closet, she said, “Don’t you think that it’s back is too revealing?”
“No,” Keya replied calmly. The back was very revealing. It was open till the middle of her lower back, dangerously close to the upper swells of her h*ips. Just a little more and it would leave very little to imagination. With Faria’s help, she wore the dress and gave herself an appreciative look in the mirror. Yes, she was going to avoid him.
“Should I leave your hair open?” Faria asked. “They would cover some of your back.”
“No, tie a high bun,” she replied. “I want to wear that sapphire n*ecklace,” she pointed at the one that her brother Grisham had bought from one of the new jewelry stores that had opened in their pack.
Faria’s eyes shot to the roof, but she did exactly that. In the end, she made her wear matching sandals. “Oh my goddess!” she said. “You look so beautiful!”
Keya lifted her chin up as she looked at her reflection for the hundredth time in the mirror. Let the game begin! As she walked out of her room, her mother came to accompany her. Eyes wide in pure surprise, Lia said, “Keya, I was thinking you are going to dress in a burlap sack.”
“This is pretty interesting,” Lachlan quipped as he too joined them.
“Where are you fathers?” Lia asked with an exasperated sigh.
“Busy!” Lachlan said. “They will come with Grisham.”
“And Aidi?”
“He prefers to play the new video game on the Xbox!” Lachlan rolled his eyes. “Grandpa really spoils him a lot!”
“I heard ‘grandpa’,” Hunter’s voice from behind slowed them down. He halted in his tracks. “Goddess, I think I have the most beautiful granddaughter in the world!” He hugged Keya and she giggled. “Your granny will join later.”
They reached the banquet hall and Keya found herself searching for Ranger. He was there but he was surrounded by at least a dozen girls. Clenching her fists, she walked to the center where a few sofas and tables were set. “Where’s Ethan?” she asked her brother, not taking her eyes off Ranger.
“Who’s bothered?” Lachlan replied with a smile as he looked at all the girls that were around Ranger. “Excuse me, little sister,” he said, flicking his hair back. “I have to hunt for my prey tonight and I won’t be surprised that my prey is out there,” he pointed with his chin towards Ranger.
Keya clenched her teeth so h*ard that they hurt. She watched Lachlan leaving. Some councilors came, her mother and grandfather became busy talking to them. Taking a deep breath in, she tried her best to shove her thoughts about him and focus on the wine that a servant just served her. She glanced at the crowd around him and suddenly caught her breath when their gazes locked. He smirked, looking intensely in her eyes. Heat coiled in her b*ody and slowly pooled in her belly.
“Keya!” Ethan’s voice came from somewhere.
“Oh! Hi Ethan,” she waved at him, tearing her gaze from Ranger. She got up and went to him, making sure that her back was fully exposed for Hunter.
“You look ravishing!” he remarked.
She giggled. “Thanks,” she said, glancing whether Ranger heard that compliment or not. When she saw that he wasn’t looking at her but was in deep conversation with some girl, the green-eyed monster in her head woke up from its slumber.
