Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K
Chapter 235
Ethan was fretting in his room, pacing it back and forth. He was so angry that he wanted to shift and then go on a k*illing spree. He growled in frustration, slamming the window frame with his punch.
“Ethan!” Howie shouted at him. “This is not going to get you anywhere!”
“Then what do I do, huh daddy?” he said, sharply towards him. His knuckles were bleeding. “That b*itch is not disqualifying me from the competition. I have begged her, threatened her and even told her that she would never be my mate. Yet she hasn’t disqualified me. I hate her from the c*ore of my heart and I swear I want to k*ill her! I even tried to coax Alpha Jorr to let me go instead of him so that I would have lost against Alpha Mickey, but that also didn’t work out!”
“Ethan,” Howie said as he sat on the sofa, watching his son’s knuckles. “You have to be calm. It depends on you. If you get angry, you won’t be able to think with your head.”

Ethan sat opposite to his father. “What do I do, please tell me! I am extremely frustrated. In the last tournament that was announced, I am supposed to fight with the winner of all the other fights. Do you know what that means? That means that I will be fighting against the most powerful Alpha!”
Howie gritted his teeth. “And I am sure that Alpha Ranger is going to defeat them all and come to fight with you.”
Ethan slammed his fist in his other h*and. “That’s what! That bastard is after my life.”
A smile came on his l*ips. Howie said, “I have an idea.”
“What?”
“You can choose a weapon of your choice. Choose a sword. Double-edged. You can then k*ill him and no one will raise a f*inger on you.”
Ethan was stunned by his father’s advice. “That was brilliant, dad!” he said with a chuckle.
“So whatever anger is building in you, use it against Ranger. If you manage to k*ill him, this bloody tournament will be half dead!”
Ethan relaxed for the first time in the day. An hour later, he went to the arena to study what was going on. He saw that Alpha Ranger was sitting in the cabin with his arms crossed against his c*hest. He was only focused at the cage fight where right now Alpha Jorr and Alpha Mickey. Ranger would occasionally glance at the cabin where Keya was sitting and Ethan noticed that Keya was also looking at him. He narrowed his eyes. The last night when he had gone to meet her, Ranger had come and that meant something. What was going on between them? His gaze returned to the cage fight.
Alpha Jorr and Alpha Mickey hadn’t chosen any weapon. They were both fist-fighting. They looked like they were two storms facing each other. Emotions ran high as both of them wanted to dominate the other. They stood face to face with clenched fists in a defensive posture. They started circling each other as they looked for an opening in order to take an advantage. There was so much tension in the air that there was complete silence in the air. All of a sudden, Alpha Jorr threw a punch at Alpha Mickey. Even though Alpha Mickey raised his h*and in defense, Jorr was able to break through his defense in time. His punch landed on Mickey’s face. With a roar of anger, Mickey lunged at Jorr and struck him, aiming for his face, b*ody and head. The sound of fists connecting with the flesh was audible in the silence.
Both started moving as they anticipated each other’s movement and tried to punch. Now Jorr’s attempt was more to dodge or block the incoming blows while Mickey focused on punching him relentlessly. Over the next half an hour, they were both covered in blood and bruises. Jorr was too shaky and unable to stand on the ground. He looked at Mickey with one red eye and one swollen. Mickey shot a punch at him and that was what Jorr saw in the last. Excruciating pain burst in his head and he fell on the ground. Mickey waited for Jorr to get up but when he didn’t move even a little, Mickey raised his h*ands up in victory. The referee came and declared Mickey as the winner of the first bout amongst a cheering crowd.
Ranger watched Jorr falling down on the floor. Two shifters came and drew him out. Even though in the contest you had a free h*and, it was their understanding that no Alpha should be k*illed. In fact, no one wanted to k*ill the other Alpha because in the end, it would come back at them.
Mickey was breathing heavily as he came back to the cabin. He glanced at Ranger. The two exchanged a look and then Mickey walked back to his room where the healers were already there. He was pretty bloodied but with the help of the healers he was going to heal in a day. Jorr was taken to the hospital and the emcee declared that he was out of the competition.
“Now the competition will be in between Alpha Mickey and Alpha Beau,” Ethan said as he pushed himself off the door frame.
Ranger didn’t reply to him and walked away from there after glancing at Keya.
“A*sshole!” Ethan bit back a grunt.
It was almost evening when Vera pounded his door at the hotel. Ranger opened the door for him. He was only wearing his trackp*ants. “What is it?” he asked Vera rather angrily and walked to the fridge to open a can of beer. “There’s news from the pack, Alpha,” Vera said. “Some warriors want to come here and support you.”
“How is Julie?” he asked. He was too concerned about Matt’s mate and every day the guilt was gnawing his heart. “She is not doing well,” Vera replied as he settled on the couch. “Her parents want to adopt the pup.”
Ranger sat on the couch, feeling like s*hit. He had to talk to Keya about Ethan.
“There’s something I would like to say,” Vera said, leaning forward.
“What?” Ranger sipped the beer with a sigh.
“Yesterday evening a she-bear called Lola approached me at the bar. She took me to an abandoned children’s park and I could sense that it was a trap.”
“What the f*uck!” Ranger became stiff as he looked at Vera.
Vera nodded. “Had I been slightly casual, I think they had planned on k*illing me!”
Ranger grasped the beer can t*ightly. It squished in his h*ands like ice cream, all the beer spilling down. “Can you identify her?” he asked.
“I sure can. But why? You already know who is behind lynching Matt.”
Ranger got up and walked to the window from where he saw people cleaning the pool. “We’ll see. Just come with me to the same pub and we are going to go from there.”
“Sure Alpha. How about tonight?” Vera suggested.
“Yes, sooner the better. I will be ready by 9 PM.”
Keya was in her room, feeling queasy. She was unable to sit on one place. Finally when Faria came, she asked, “Where’s Lachlan?”
“He is in a meeting with Alpha Hunter and others,” Faria replied as she helped her remove her dress. “I am telling you, missy-there is something really wrong going on.” She took a deep breath in, walking to the closet. “Everyone is on high alert.”
“Why do you say that?” Keya asked, her queasiness returning.
Faria came back to Keya with jeans and white silk shirt. “Alpha Arthur is working continuously. He is patrolling the pack along with his team. Gamma Asher is also very busy. And the Betas, Tina and Gina don’t have the time to talk.”
Keya fidgeted with her f*ingers. “But the violence has dropped?”
“It has. But it feels like a lull before a raging storm.” Faria helped her remove the jewelry and the makeup and left her.
After an hour, Lachlan came. “You wanted to see me,” he said as he settled on the couch, looking very tired. “Lachlan, please tell me about the whole situation.”
He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. “I will let you know once I have some concrete information.” Keya huffed. “But there’s something related to Ethan that I am not liking,” she added.
Lachlan’s eyebrows rose. “What is it that you don’t like about him? Don’t tell me that your sweet crush for him has burst!” He barked a laugh.
“Lachlan!” She rolled her eyes. “Ethan has asked me several times to disqualify him. I don’t know why, but I haven’t. It doesn’t look good, right?”
Lachlan got up, tousled her hair and then went away saying, “Keep yourself focused on the competition. Don’t worry about it.”
But how could that be? Sitting up in the stand for the royals in the stadium, she was only seeing Ranger. He looked so calm but she could see how his muscles had corded up. Tension was thick in the air. When their eyes met, it was as if he wanted to convey something to her. Keya wanted to talk to him, but she didn’t have his number. As the minutes turned to hours, her impatience increased. She was desperate to meet him. Right at 8PM, the window of her room slid open and Ranger climbed in. Before she knew what she was doing, she rushed to him and hugged him t*ightly. “I missed you.”
He hugged her t*ightly and k*issed the crown of her head. Then he cupped her cheeks and tilted her face up. “I missed you too.” He leaned over and pressed a k*iss on her l*ips. When he pulled back, he said, “I am going to the pub with Vera. There’s something I have to look into. I can’t stay longer.”
“Can I come with you?” she asked, excited.
“No, it is dangerous.”
“I feel safe with you…” she said, her eyes rounding at the corner. “Very safe.”
His breath lodged in his t*hroat. “I wish your Lycan had come out.”
“Why?” Her brows drew together as if suspecting him.
He chuckled and rubbed her forehead. “If you want to come, stay low, okay?”
“Okay!” she said eagerly. After wearing her sneakers, for the first time in her life, Keya sneaked out of the castle, keeping to the shadows, along with Ranger. She felt an excitement gushing through her. They crossed the old drawbridge and entered the old part of the pack.
Vera was waiting for him, but when he saw Keya, his eyebrows shot to the sky. “Princess Keya!” He bowed to her and shot a glance at Ranger who only looked at him c*ockily.
Ranger introduced them both. “Keya, Vera. Vera, Keya.”
“Hi Vera,” Keya grinned. Jealous-ridden Ranger, caught her and took her with him. Vera followed them. “Where are we going?” she giggled.
“To a pub,” he replied, pulling her hoodie down.
“What for?”
“To expose someone.”
