Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee (Book 3)
Chapter 153 Karma Caught Up With Her (Genevieve Swan)
“What do you mean, ‘why’? Didn’t you see what he did to my daughter?” Mr. Browning yelled at Emre, causing him to shake his head firmly.
“So now that he’s turned down your desperate daughter, you want him out of the mansion. But what about when he wronged Gennie? Nobody said a thing. He was welcomed back into the pack with open arms. What was that all about?” I was surprised that Emre chose this moment to speak up.
I wished I could have done it myself, but then I would have seemed bitter. But with Emre doing it, I felt a sense of relief.
“That–,” Mr. Browning began, looking at his wife for a response. I glanced down at my father and Monique, feeling concerned about how calmly my father was eating and chatting with Monique while such a big issue was unfolding right under their noses.

Was my father always this oblivious? No, I don’t recall him being like that. I mean, my distant memories of him include him taking care of my mother with great devotion.
“That was because you didn’t care about someone else’s daughter. That’s karma,” Emre hissed, gesturing for Ron to sit down.
“If he wasn’t kicked out then, why would he be kicked out now? And if you’re finally planning to hold those who wrong others accountable, then your daughter should face the same consequence. It’s either they both stay or neither of them leaves this dinner,” Emre made it abundantly clear that Mrs. and Mr. Browning wouldn’t be the ones making the decisions. “It’s alright, Dad. I don’t even think I can stay here after they all conspired to ruin my happiness,” Kit pointed directly at me, causing me to narrow my eyes at her. Please don’t tell me she thinks I convinced Ron to reject her.
Without saying another word, she ran upstairs to her room, and her parents followed soon after, giving my father a nod of the head. Ron also left because he couldn’t stay there anymore.
After about five minutes, my father looked at us and frowned. “Why is nobody eating? Enjoy your food,” he said, and my mates began to grab their plates. I was still troubled by what had happened.
I was troubled because Ron had sabotaged our relationship just to hurt Kit in the worst possible way.
After finishing dinner, I once again followed Bellamy to have a word with him. I had made it clear that I wouldn’t drop the topic until he told me what was going on with him. Now was the time, as everyone else was either in their rooms or out in the woods for a run.
“Stop following me,” Bellamy grunted, causing me to halt in my tracks and shoot an angry look at him.
“I won’t. I just don’t want you to get yourself into any trouble,” I insisted, gripping his arm.
“You just don’t want me to get what I want. That’s all,” he stubbornly retorted, sounding like a child throwing a tantrum. I had never seen him so distracted before. He was beginning to sound like a completely different person, like a stranger I had never met.
“Now leave me alone,” he shook his head and walked away from me into the woods. I couldn’t follow him into the woods, so I returned to my room. Caspian had taken a shower and was getting ready for the long drive.
“What’s with all these preparations? It’s not like we’re going to be out all night,” I rolled my eyes as I watched him pack a small bag.
“Actually, we’ll be back in the morning after breakfast. I’m stealing you away from everyone, Gen. You’re mine, and I need you,” he whispered with so much emotion that I couldn’t even complain or ask him any more questions.
“Now quickly get ready and come downstairs in an hour; I’ll be waiting for you,” he grabbed two pillows and tucked them under his arm.
It was already late, and everyone else might be heading to their beds. So, I nodded and hurried into the bathroom. I chose a comfortable blue nightgown since it seemed like a relaxed date, just as Caspian had described. After getting ready, I came out to find Emre and Wolvin sleeping. Bellamy was still absent from the room.
I didn’t want to miss my date with Caspian tonight by worrying about Bellamy. It was true that I had spent too much time chasing after him to prevent him from making mistakes. But tonight, as Caspian had said, I was his.
As I walked downstairs and was about to pass the second floor, something caught my attention. I heard a faint voice that sounded like Bellamy’s, even though he had no reason to be on the second floor. Instead of hurrying to the ground floor, I began to slow down.
“Don’t cry,” I heard him say again, and this time, I was sure it was him. My heart skipped a beat when I heard the second voice.
“But it was so humiliating,” Kit was saying to him, and he was there to comfort her.
It felt like I was experiencing the same kind of betrayal I had felt during my mating ceremony, but this was even worse. Bellamy was not Ron; I had a deeper connection with him. But it seemed like I had been mistaken.
As I walked up to the wall where I could hear them talking, I was shocked to see Bellamy and Kit together.
“Hey, it doesn’t matter what everyone else thinks about you. That guy didn’t deserve you. You’re so loving and sweet; you deserve someone better than him,” Bellamy gently held her face in his hands and made her look into his eyes.
My heart felt like it had stopped beating.
Tears of anger and frustration welled up in my eyes as I watched Kit staring at Bellamy with a glimmer of newfound hope in her eyes.
“Really? Anyone?” she asked, and Bellamy nodded.
“Anyone,” he replied, and her gaze shifted to his l*ips.
This wasn’t fair. I had been the one walking around him, and here he was, comforting that b*itch.
