The Claiming by Cooper Book 6 (Ezekiel & Gianna) Chapter 369

The Claiming by Cooper Book 6

The Gamma Tournament by Cooper (Ezekiel & Gianna)

Chapter 4 Ezekiel

My mate has no idea how wealthy I am. I’ve been a single wolf, working a very exclusive job for nearly a decade. Not only that, but during the Beta Trials, the packs practically fought over me and the other elite fighters, paying a premium price to train their packs each week.

And since I want to spoil my mate and my pup, I got us a penthouse suite in an upscale hotel while we’re in the city. I also may have purchased a couple of dresses for my mate, knowing that she’s been living off of borrowed clothing.

When we pull into the hotel drive, she sits up, looking around.

“Ezekiel, why are we driving up to this hotel?”

“Because we have a reservation to stay here for a few nights,” I say, winking at her.

She looks at me and then she looks back at the hotel, the lights of the hotel twinkling in the twilight as the day fades into night. “We can’t afford this,” she says quietly. “Actually, we can. And since I want to spoil my mate, I chose this hotel,” I say, as we pull up to valet parking.

The valet opens our doors and Gianna gets Zeke as I let them know we’re checking in and give them my keys.

I grab Zeke’s baby bag and wrap my arm around my mate and son, leading them inside. I get us checked in, watching as my mate looks around the entryway and the lobby in awe. I knew this was a good idea, and the look on her face confirms it. “I had some packages delivered here earlier, have they arrived?” I ask the man at the front desk who is checking me in.

“Let me check for you, Mr. Battles. Yes, it appears that we have five packages that arrived today for you,” he says, coming back from checking. He starts to put them on the desk.

“Please have the valet bring them up to our room with our other things,” I tell him. “Yes sir,” he says, setting them aside.

“I see you’ve also requested a crib and one has been placed in the room.”

“Perfect, thank you.”

He hands me the key to our room and head over to Gianna. “Ready?” I ask.

I’m rewarded with her beautiful smile. “Ready.”

We walk to the elevators, and I take Zeke as we wait. I want Gianna to be able to experience her first penthouse suite when we walk in.

As soon as the elevator doors open, we step out into our suite. Gianna’s m*outh drops open and it’s so cute to watch her as her eyes go wide and she begins rushing around the place.

“There’s a full kitchen and two bedrooms and the balcony, look at this view, Ezekiel!” she says rushing everywhere and squealing in delight.

“Look at your momma, Zeke. Look how easy it is to make her happy,” I say quietly to our son as he looks around, seeming much older than the two-month-old that he is. That’s probably good since my mate is already showing her pregnancy and the gestation for humans is nearly twice as long as shifters.

When I hear the ping of the elevators, I h*and Zeke to Gianna, and I turn to greet the bellhop as he brings in the cart with our bags.

“Where would you like these?” he asks and I guide him to our rooms, listening to Gianna tell Zeke how pretty it is outside.

When he’s done, I tip him, and he shows me how to lock the elevator so no one else can come up while we’re in the room.

When he’s gone, I go into our room, laying the packages out on the bed. I’m pretty sure I know which one is the one I want for tonight, but I want my mate to open them all and make her choice. “Ezekiel,” she calls.

“In here,” I say, turning to wait for her to walk in.

She’s smiling as she enters the room. “This place is amazing! Thank you so much.”

I walk to her, wrapping my arms around both of them. “You are worth so much more. I hope that our weekend here is a nice little getaway for you. You deserve a break and to be treated like a queen. And on that note,” I say, taking Zeke who looks like he’s about to start fussing, “those are for you.”

I begin purring at Zeke, wanting him to stay quiet for a few more minutes while Gianna opens her gifts.

“Ezekiel, this is too much,” she says, looking at the packages laid out on the bed, then back at me.”

“By my standards, it’s not nearly enough, my sweet mate. Open them up before Zeke demands his dinner.”

I watch as she carefully unwraps each, two dresses, a pair of shoes and some s*exy lingerie as well.

“If I leak all over these lacy bras, it’s not my fault,” she says, coming to take Zeke who is really squirming and fussing now.

“Love of my life, if you leak all over those lacy bras, I’ll happily lap it all up,” I say, watching her while she begins nursing Zeke.

I get changed and set up the stroller and when she’s done nursing, she picks the floral dress with ruffles at the hem line, the one I was hoping she’d wear. It’s form fitting, so it shows off her pregnant belly and I love it. Then she puts on the heels I bought her. Damn if I don’t have plans for this woman later tonight.

“Let’s go feed my girls,” I say.

When we get outside, I turn left, already knowing where I want to go.

“I know you’ve never been here,” she says, her arm in mine as I push the stroller and we walk down the busy sidewalk of the city. “So, where do you want to stop to get food?”

“There’s a place up the road a bit. I thought we’d go there,” I say to her.

“This area if very swanky,” she says looking around, then smiling up at me as we take our time strolling down the walk. “I used to walk along these streets, wondering what you had to do to make enough money to stay here.”

I lean in, k*issing the side of her head. “Turns out, you just have to be a really good fighter,” I say, nuzzling her n*eck. I love how much she enjoys being close to me. Her wolf may not be fully forward, but she’d definitely acting more and more like the wolf she is.

“I feel so spoiled,” she says to me.

“Good. I want you to always feel that way,” I tell her as we get to the restaurant. Her eyes go wide, and she looks at me.

“Ezekiel, we’ll never get in here without a reservation,” she says seriously.

I lean in, so our faces are even and I’m looking her in the eye. “Good thing I made a reservation then,” I tell her, loving how her jaw drops at my announcement.

Then she looks from me to the restaurant and back again.

“Aren’t you full of surprises?”

I move to her ear, running my nose over the s*ensitive part under her earlobe.

“Hopefully, what I have planned for later isn’ t a surprise,” I say to her, before pulling back and k*issing her quickly. “Stay here, I’ll go let them know we’ve arrived.”

I walk to the maftre d, keeping an ear out for my mate and son.

“I have reservations for two and a baby. The name is Battles,” I say, turning to see that Gianna is moving the stroller back and forth while looking around. She has a very happy smile on her face. This is only the beginning of what I have planned for this weekend. I intend to make this weekend very, very special for her.

“Mr. Battles, here you are. Open reservation. Let me check to make sure your private room is ready. I’ll be just a moment,” he says.

“Thank you,” I say, turning back to look at Gianna.

As soon as I turn, I see the man who is making a beeline for my mate. I’m striding toward her in an instant, focused only the potential threat to Gianna and Zeke. “Gianna?” he asks.

Her head snaps up and she looks at the man.

“Daniel?”

Daniel the D*ickwad?

I watch as Daniel looks from Gianna to Zeke in the stroller to Gianna’s very obviously pregnant stomach.

“You have a child?”
