Sharing Beatrice A Luna To Her Stepbrothers by Alexis Dee Book 3

Chapter 555 – Lost My Beatrice! (Akin)

Its been two months since the war where we lost Zane, or one might say, we took down evil. But that wasn’t the only thing that went down that night. Something happened to the Vortex, and we lost many weredragons to it. They weren’t entirely gone, but they vanished. That was the part that didn’t sit well with us.

“Akin!”

I heard Helel call out to me in panic. I was in the bathroom, taking a shower to clear my mind and relax for a moment.

“Akin!”

I rushed out of the shower and hastily threw on my pants but couldn’t manage to put on a shirt because panic had coursed through my veins.

I had seen Helel walk in the direction of Beatrice’s room, so my fear escalated when I heard Helel calling for me in distress. It must be related to her.

“What’s going on?” I dashed out of the bathroom to find Helel hyperventilating, but it was the tears in his eyes that caught my attention.

“Helel!” I held onto his arms, shaking him as he clenched his jaw and shook his head angrily.

“She is gone!”

For a moment, I felt like I was having a nightmare. I closed my eyes and then blinked them hard, hoping this news was fake.

“What do you mean she’s gone? We have so many guards outside,” I left him in the room and began to sprint towards the new room we had built that didn’t have any windows or loose ends. We made sure that the room was safer than anything.

Helel followed me to the room, and the guards seemed to be standing as if they’d been ordered to stay outside. Watching me approach them made them t*ighten their posture and look confidently strong and attentive.

“I don’t know. But she is gone,” Helel hissed angrily. I knew he was as frustrated as I was. It didn’t make any sense that she had left.

“I don’t know-this was not supposed to happen,” I looked around the room and then ran out to talk to the guards. My head was pounding with anger and annoyance.

“How the hell did she go missing?” I yelled at them, watching them gulp, and then one of them stepped ahead.

“Your Highness, we never left our spots. We stood here to make sure she was safe. She never left the room, nor did anyone come into the room with us standing outside like that,” the guard tried to explain, but I shook my head because it didn’t make any sense. If they were here all the time, how the hell did she leave then?

“That’s not possible. She cannot just disappear,” I yelled and noticed Helel tapping his hand on my back. I didn’t get how someone could be in so much distress yet be so calm.

“Let’s go watch the security footage,” he insisted, and I finally stepped away from the guards. I relied on Helel these days. When I was a trainwreck of emotions, he had kept his calm. But once in a while, I caught him crying and drinking alone.

I wanted to hurt someone. Yes! I was so angry that I just wanted to do something to someone. Probably even hurt myself.

This was not fair. After doing so much and working so hard to get rid of the evil so that we could be together, I still lost her. How unfair was it?

Once we reached the attic with the cameras, I sat down while Helel started playing the tapes. That day when the vortex erupted and emitted some energy, Beatrice complained like the rest of the weredragons that she heard some loud noise.

It was then that we took her back home. However, we found out that all the weredragons went missing. It irked me because I found Beatrice sleeping on the couch.

We initially thought she was tired until she didn’t wake up. It was actually Reign who told us that Colt was also sleeping for hours.

She concluded that it happened because of the noise. She also told us that we needed to protect Beatrice because soon, they would go missing like the others too. But today, our worst fear had finally become reality and there was no trace of Beatrice left. The footage played, and it took me a minute to gather my thoughts. She was found sleeping on the bed, no food taken, nothing in months. Her body didn’t even seem to require all these necessities; it was as if it was just a vessel here. And then the video paused, as if something happened to the camera, and when it played again, Beatrice was missing.

“Something happened during that time. She must have gotten up or maybe somebody came to collect her,” I muttered, hitting my hand hard on the desk.

“There is clear footage from outside the room,” Helel added and played the four cameras that covered the dimensions. There was no pause in outside footage, and there was no trace of anyone coming in or Beatrice leaving.

“The guards are not lying. She just disappeared,” Helel hissed, stepping away from me so that he could curse under his breath.

“Reign is calling,” I announced when my phone displayed her name. She must have been informed by someone. But the minute I answered her call, I felt like the world from under my feet was shaken.

“He is gone,” she was crying hysterically on the phone.

“Colt?” I asked, and Helel reached me, staring at me as if he wanted to know what Reign was saying.

I put the call on speaker for Helel to hear, “Beatrice is also gone.”

I had to announce it with a heavy heart. It was like somebody had stolen my soul. There didn’t seem to be any reason left for me to live. She was just gone without a trace. What am I going to do without her?

“What should we do now?” Helel asked, filled with anticipation and worry.

“We have lost so many people, I think it is time that we stop crying and do something about it,” Helel gently patted my back as he noticed that I was not in my full swing. I didn’t even know where to begin from.

Although Reign was assigned this duty to find something that could help us with what was happening, we were still in the dark.

“There is only one person that we could ask for help,” I heard Reign sniffle and mumble, “Huia!”

Both Helel and I were shocked to hear her name again.
