Alpha Alexander by LS Barbosa
Chapter 140 (Alexander)
“Your loyal mate is causing us issues.” Jordan said, walking inside the room. I smirked and shook my head at the man. He shouldn’t have expected things to be that easy.
“As much as I would like to say that I am surprised, I am not.” I said, my tone sarcastic as I sat on the chair. “Mathew didn’t seem to pay me a visit today. I do hope that everything is alright?”
“His name is Alpha Mathew. Just because I am giving you the chance to speak to me as you please does not mean that he would do the same, that he has to do the same, or that he wants to do the same. Bear in mind that he still wants you dead and I am the one person keeping you alive.” He said, and I nodded. His words didn’t really phase me because I knew that me being alive was because neither one of them had the guts to actually kill me. If anything, they were afraid of the outcome, and I doubted that the kill order was released. Had it been so, I would have been dead on sight. “I do suggest that you make use of your chances, Alexander.”
“And if I do not? I’m dead, right?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at him. “Oh, and by my chances, I believe that you are referring to Delilah, or am I wrong?”

He took a deep breath before shaking his head at me.
“What is your issue with dating my daughter? Needless to say, you fought to be with her, what is making you hate her as much as you do now? Or is it the fact that you simply found your mate that you just wanted to replace my poor child?” He asked and I shook my head at the man. “Delilah has always loved you, she grew up to be an Alpha’s mate and wife. The two of us know that she is more educated and more trained to be fit for such a position, and yet, you still chose the woman that grew up as an omega? Alpha blood or not, it does not change where she came from, how she grew up, and the lousy shack that she lived in.”
“She was real, unlike Delilah who never was. She chose to be honest, grateful, and loving. Delilah on the other hand, wanted me for what I had. When it came to Scarlett. My mate saw me for who I was be it I had nothing or I had the whole world at my feet. She didn’t care.
She saw me for who I am, and that is something that I valued a little too late.” I said, missing my mate. She didn’t even know how much I missed and thought of her every second of my life, and her holding on as strong as she was made my heart swell. It pained me to know that because of me, she was living through all this hell, and it pained me that even despite everything that I put her through, that she did not walk away.
“You know for fact that she is not here to stay for you. If she was there for a day or two, it is not like Delilah was any less patient or loving.” Jordan said, and I shook my head.
“Delilah loved power, she loved what I offered her, and I was willing to give her my life. Scarlett, a woman who I wasn’t going to give anything, and a woman that I put through hell, was the woman who stuck till the very end. the difference between the two of them is that one loved me with no conditions while the other saw what she was gaining out of being with me.” I said, looking the man dead in the eye. “I do hope that I gave you a sufficient answer to your question.”
“You did not. As it seems to me that you do not understand what is in stake with what you are doing, but then again, you never were a wise man to know what was good for you and what wasn’t. That is something that differentiated you and every other Alpha that was around. We often knew what was good for us, and we knew how to make use of it. While you, as a man, didn’t even know what you wanted. To say the least, you have cost yourself more than you can afford, and that is something that everyone has seen and still sees.” Jordan said, and I shrugged. “For the love of my life, I will give you the one answer that I should have given the world a very long time ago.” I said, and he frowned in confusion. “Try me, Alpha Jordan.” He shook his head at me and got up from his chair, leaving me alone as he walked out of the room. I knew that this wasn’t the last of this deal, but for now, I knew that my wife was fighting back what they were putting her through. And that alone mattered to me more than anything else. If anything, it was something that I wanted, and that was the main reason why I knew to hold on.
“Just a little patience, my beautiful Neonata.” I whispered, her picture popping in my head as I closed my eyes. The fatigue that my b*ody was in told me that I had to rest, but I knew that one day’s rest was going to cost me more than I would want to afford. If anything, I knew that it would be seen as a sign of weakness and that was something that they wanted. And it was something that I wasn’t going to give them.
To say the least, knowing that she was fighting back was going to be the drive that I held onto to fight. “This final battle will be ours, my baby girl.” I whispered, glaring at the door for a second as I slid the key under my sleeve, hearing the men outside moving further away from the door before unlocking the chains. “Your Alpha is coming for you. And I give you my word, I am not going to have any mercy, not on those that were here, and not at all on the Alpha that is holding you captive…”
