Alpha Alexander by LS Barbosa
Chapter 145 (Scarlett)
“What is this?” I asked, shaking my head at Vladimir who opened the closet for me. The closet was filled with clothes and I couldn’t help but frown as I recognized a lot of them. If anything, even their scent seemed a lot more familiar than I would want them to be. I didn’t need to have memories now, I needed to be strong, and all that flashed in my head was the memories that I HAD to live out of to survive this place.
“Clothes for you, I doubt that you would want to stay naked. And though I personally wouldn’t mind, I know that you would.” He said, and I rolled my eyes before pulling out one of the dresses. It was that Alexander bought for me after the incident with the clothes that Vladimir got. The pain that I felt as I took a deep breath was one that I couldn’t describe and more specifically, I wouldn’t dare admit. The Alpha shouldn’t know that he had an effect on me. If anything, I knew that this was exactly what he wanted. Me to remember THAT day in specific.
“So, you chose to get me the clothes that my husband and mate gave me?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“A reminder of the reason you lost your child and a massive reminder of the reason why you would be happier with me. To say the least, you don’t see me burning your clothes down in a pool.” He said, making me take a deep breath to ensure that I didn’t break the man’s face as I waited for him to get out.

“If there is nothing that you would like to add, Alpha Vladimir, I will kindly request that I can change my clothes.” I said, and he smirked, knowing that he ticked a nerve. “The two of us can tick another’s nerves, malyshka. I do believe that it is time for you to realize that.” He said before taking a step to stand behind me. My heart raced but I held my ground as I took a deep breath to wait for how he was going to react. “As for your little bargain about Netanya, she’ll be cleaned and sent for your service before the night ends. This is the first request that you will have fulfilled as my ‘Luna’.”
He didn’t say another word as he turned to the door. He walked out and closed the door behind him, and I took a deep breath as I clenched my fist for a few seconds, waiting for him to leave.
I smelled my own blood as I drew it out of my palm before frowning as I unclenched my fist. My heart raced against my ribcage and I couldn’t help but let out a very low growl as my wolf grew angry with the f*ucked up bastard’s words. “You can only hope that I will be your Luna,” I whispered to myself as I looked at the dress for a second before throwing it on the bed. The memory of the bags being sprawled around in ‘our room’ played in my head and I couldn’t help but regret the fact that I chose not to at least wear them for Alexander to see. “I will be patient, for now. But believe me, the second I decide not to be, you are going to be the one to f*ucking regret it…”
The bedroom door was knocked as I sat in front of the dresser, looking at myself in the mirror as I brushed my hair after the long, warm shower that I took. It was a most needed one, that was for sure, and I couldn’t deny that it helped relax my muscles as I went on.
The d*ickhead’s scent filled my nostrils and I sighed before getting up to turn to the door. I took a deep breath and watched as he opened the door, clearly knowing and realizing that I wasn’t going to invite him in.
He held a tray in his hand and I frowned in confusion before he walked inside with it. I watched as he put it on the coffee table that was in front of the sitting area before he turned to look at me. He seemed to be a lot more calm, and I couldn’t help but notice that he changed his clothes and shaved his bread to a lighter dirty scruff. “Netanya should be coming to you in a bit, but I figured that you could use something to eat, something warm and with flavor.” He said, watching as I looked at the tray for a few seconds before nodding in response. It was going to be a dumb move for me to argue with him right now, and considering the fact that he knew that I wanted to, I knew that I had to prove him wrong by not doing so. To say the least, I didn’t want to give him that sense of satisfaction to think that he could easily annoy me, even though in theory, I knew that he could.
“Is there anything that you might need? Something that you found missing in the room? Your closet?” He asked and I shook my head in response.
“Thank you for your concern, but I have everything that I want and need.” I said, feeling somewhat thankful that everything that was in the closet was bought by Alexander. To say the least, I didn’t have to have him telling me that he got me anything.
“I see,” he said, and I smiled. “Well, you can get something to eat then get some rest. I know that you’ve had a long few weeks…”
“You can join me if you want. I believe that is what you’re trying to hint at, and I do not mind your presence.” I did. “To say the least, I might as well get used to it considering the fact that I am going to see you more often right now.”
I knew that I was playing with fire, and I knew very well that what I was doing can end up hurting me. But I wasn’t going to be able to get or do what I wanted if I was going to play it safe. To say the least, I needed to put up this challenge, and the one way to do is was to fight back all the urges that I had to flinch away.
“You want me to join you for dinner?”
“Unless you’re aiming to poison me with the meal, I doubt that it should be a problem.” I said and he smirked. “Plus, I doubt that I would be able to eat all of this on my own. To say the least, you can help me finish this plate instead of having to throw it away.”
I walked toward the tray for a second before sitting down and picking up the fork, extending it to him, waiting for him to come and join me. He didn’t say a word as he approached me, and I raised an amused eyebrow as a small smile played on my l*ips.
“First of all,” he said, taking the fork from me as he sat down. “I don’t use poison as a killing tactic…”
“Second, joining you for dinner is a honor for me to do so.” He said, and I smiled before he pushed the fork inside a carrot, taking a bite of it. “And third, I do hope that this is proof that the food is not poisoned.”
