Chapter 148 (Alexander)

I took a deep breath as the plane landed at Belorussia.

Delilah, who slept throughout most of the plane ride, woke up fresh and ready for the night, where I, I had my mind busy on the number of things that we still had to do. To say the least, Anastasia was asleep on my c*hest, and that was something that I was more than a little thankful for. I didn’t know how Scarlett was, but I couldn’t help but worry about my mate.

The fact that the man could take advantage of her was something that didn’t slip my mind, and the fact of her being f*orced into something like this was not something that I wanted. If anything, I wanted nothing more than to get her out of the hell that I put her through before apologizing to her.

Had I not taken her to that hell hole, things wouldn’t have happened this way. I know for fact that things wouldn’t have gotten as bad as they did to begin with.

“We need to leave,” Delilah said, and I frowned as I looked at the woman. She was the beginning of all of this in the first place. Jordan, the wedding being ruined, Scarlett breaking inside because of the deal with her, everything just started with her.

“Delilah, before we get off, I am going to have to ask you one question.” I said, looking at her. She frowned in confusion and I tightened my grip around my daughter. The woman was not going to take me for a fool after everything that we have been through because of her.

“Do you really believe that now is the time for questions, Alexander?” She asked, looking at the people who were on the plane.

“Why do I have to believe that you can be trusted when everything happened because of you?” I asked, choosing my words carefully. I knew that people were listening and watching, and I couldn’t use specific words that I knew would be triggers to them if they heard.

“I wouldn’t have risked getting you out if I was aiming to hurt you. As for things happening because of me; I am sorry, but I don’t allow anyone, not even my father, to fight my fights. You can rest assured, what happened at the wedding, though it tore everything in me apart, was not my fault. I wouldn’t have caused you, your wife, or your daughter that much pain.” She said, looking down at Anastasia. “And in case you forgot, I have to remind you, I am not the bad of this story, Alex.”

She looked me dead in the eye, her heart racing against her ribcage for a few seconds before she nodded at me. “If Vladimir is hell, and Mathew has lost it, they’ve both been as bad for a very long time. You just failed to see it.”

“And you are implying to what?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at her. She shook her head at me before taking a step forward and putting her finger on my c*hest.

“If anyone is the bad guy here, it is you.” She said, making me frown. “You being the lead, the mate, husband, Alpha, and the father of this little girl doesn’t make you any less bad than the prick that has your wife. Now, unless you want to waste more time, I do suggest that you follow me. Otherwise, you are on your own, and I doubt that you can afford it at this point.”

“The place has been secured from many attacks and is secluded. Meaning, no one can really trace or find us here. That is, of course, unless we attract them.” She said, nodding at the men as we passed through the tunnels. Anastasia looked up at the tunnel, and I couldn’t help but frown when I saw a door.

“Delilah,”

“Open the door, Oliver, we have a lot to do. Call in Laurel to take care of the child, I doubt that you would want to keep carrying her around like that.” Delilah said, nodding at the man. He nodded and took a step back as he opened the door. “Do you want anything to drink? You haven’t had anything to eat during the whole flight, and I doubt that you would want to reach your mate looking like some hag who has lost his strength.”

“I am fine, Delilah.” I said, glaring at the woman who rolled her eyes before walking inside the room. “What is this place?”

“You are not the only one who had his training elsewhere.” She said, looking around what looked like an office. The two of us walked toward another room where a man nodded at her before he opened the door. I had to fight back jumping in surprise as I heard a united karate kiai. Delilah clapped her hands and everyone stopped at the sight of her before bowing their heads as their sensei walked down toward her.

“Sensei Masaru, it is nice seeing you again.” She said before wrapping her arms around him. He smiled and wrapped his arms around her before pulling away to look at her.

“You have grown, Delilah San.” He said, and she smiled.

“Seven years tend to do that, sensei.” She said, and he smiled. He turned to look at me before nodding.

“You seem to have brought a friend, and that friend has a child.” He said, raising an eyebrow. “I can assume that the child is not yours.”

“No, the baby is his mate’s, and the woman is held captive by the Roshia no kaibutsu,” Russian monster.

“Vladimir.”

“The one and only.” She said, her eyes h*ardening at the mention of the man’s name. “He’s going to end up trying to take advantage of her, and if that happens, then we are in trouble.”

“What makes her important?” He asked, and Delilah looked at me for a second before pinching the bridge of her nose.

“She is the last descendent of Luna Aurelia and Alpha Levi of the northern wolves. That is, at least, if we do not count the child.” She said, making me frown in confusion. “You know that she is the only one who can defeat Oreilles, who is now possessing the b*ody of Luna Katlyn. Her mate chose to give her up for power, and if this child is taken by him and is possessed by the demon blood, then the life of all wolves would be changing.”

“What the hell are you talking about?” I asked, frowning in confusion. Delilah turned to look at me before she frowned as she shook her head. Her eyes met mine for a second before she nodded at a woman who approached to take Anastasia. I went to pull the child away and she rolled her eyes. “The child is a lot safer under the protection of four assassins.

Believe it or not, the last thing that I am going to do is hurt this baby girl.” She said, looking me in the eye. “She is needed alive, and killing her would be ending a lot more than we as wolves can afford.”

“What is going on?” I asked, and Delilah looked at her sensei for a second.

“There is a lot more to your wife and mate than you know, Alexander.” She said, and I frowned. “Give your daughter to be fed and changed. We will be talking in private…”
