Alpha Alexander by LS Barbosa
Chapter 149 (Vladimir)
I looked at the woman as she walked down the stairs.
She wore a dress that her husband chose for her, the f*ucker who did not know that he had a royal blood with him.
Well, he couldn’t have been blamed. Everyone who was around him has done their best to hide her. It was the reason her parents were killed in the first place.
Her being alive was something that they should have considered as a blessing to the family. Her bloodline and true blood would have been a benefit to Alexander. Only the idiot he had as an ex girlfriend seemed to find out. Her father blowing that she was originally an Alpha blood was something that she shouldn’t have known, and until that woman dies, if she knows anything at least, then I was going to be in danger of her doing something stupid.

My phone rang and I frowned before taking a step back and heading to my office, not bothering to look at Scarlett or Netanya who were approaching. The fact that Netanya was now assigned as Scarlett’s maid came to my benefit. To say the least, I got to watch her learn her limits in front of me before she ended up dying at my hands. I just needed to wait for the right number to hit, and not even Scarlett was going to stop me from taking her life then.
I nodded at the men to keep an eye out before answering the phone, waiting for what he had to tell me.
“They are no longer at the Estate, boss.” Enrique, one of my men who I had spying on them here, said through the phone. He was supposed to be assigned to kill her when the time came. For her to have escaped is not something that I wanted to hear.
“And her father?” I asked, my tone h*ardening as I tapped the desk. “She killed the man before escaping with Alpha Alexander and his daughter.” He said, and I growled.
Delilah was the one enemy, the chosen bride that I had, that I did not expect to be facing. The fact that she had the guts to go against me when she knew that she would be on the top of the enemy list that I had demanded courage. Not only did she run away, but she also abandoned the ceremony, making me look like a fool, in front of MY pack members.
The existence of Scarlett within Mathew’s pack grounds was the only thing that spared her life when I found out about her being with Alexander. She knew that she would have been dead the second I laid eyes on her, but Mathew seemed to have a soft side for the woman that Alexander chose for himself. However, I wasn’t dumb, I knew that he did not raise a powerful bloodline like Scarlett to give her out easily. He either intended to have her as a bride for Alexander, or was to sell her to someone who was willing to pay the price, and that someone was me…
“We tried tracing them, but every carthat followed them crashed, and the men who tried finding them are either dead or untraceable.” He said, making me take a deep breath as I tried to control my anger. The last thing that I needed to hear right now was something like this.
“I don’t care what you have to do, she is not going to disappear for another year before appearing again, stronger, with a different bargain. I want her dead before Alexander finds out the truth about his wife and daughter, do you understand me?” I said before hanging up. I didn’t need to bother waiting for his response anyway. I knew that the job would be done; however, the last thing that I needed right now was another obstacle.
I have been fighting off the urge to claim the f*ucking woman for months, wanting her to carry my child. And considering that her husband was around, I couldn’t win her over no matter what I tried doing. It would have been a whole lot easier if she allowed me to anyway; but it seems like fate likes to test my patience.
I walked out of the office and smiled at Scarlett who didn’t bother looking at me.
Her heart raced against her ribcage and she clenched her fists as she tried avoiding the fact that I would extend my hand to take hers. I knew that I had to be lenient and very patient with the woman. But right now, I didn’t have the time or energy to waste on whatever bullshit she wanted to play. “The two of us agreed that you would give me a chance.” I said, and she smiled. Her smile was a cold and sarcastic one, not reaching her eyes, and I could see her chewing the inside of her mouth to clearly stop herself from making a smart remark. She nodded and extended her hand to me. I smirked and k*issed her knuckle before she pulled it away. “Do you want us to walk around the garden?”
“You and I both know that I want nothing but to be in my room.” She said, glaring at me and I chuckled before nodding.
“The garden, it is,” I said, looking at Netanya who bit her bottom l*ip as she tried stifling a smile. I rolled my eyes and didn’t bother commenting. She was going to be dying soon anyway, might as well give her the benefit of doubt to see her ‘smiling’. I nodded at the men to open the front door before motioning for Scarlett to go.
I went to wrap an arm around her, but she arched her back before I could t*ouch her.
“Playing h*ard to get, aren’t you?” I asked, and she raised an amused eyebrow.
“I thought that you, as a wolf, liked a good chase.” She said, and I smirked.
“I do,” I said as I leaned in to her ear. Her heart raced and she flinched as she felt my breath on her ear. “But I doubt that you are going to like where this chase is going to take you, Malyshka…”
