Alpha Alexander by LS Barbosa
Chapter 151 (Alexander)
“You mean to tell me, that my wife, my mate, is of noble blood?” I asked Delilah, frowning in confusion. She nodded and looked down at her lap, avoiding my eyes for a few seconds.
“Yes, I didn’t know it first as well. When I left the Estate, your pack, I went home and found out. Dad was talking to your father and he basically sold her off to Vladimir.” She said, pinching her nose. “I know that it wasn’t the best thing for me to do, but I didn’t like you two being together. It was something that hurt me, a lot. And I wanted nothing more than for it to end. I’m sorry,”
“You set me up and are telling me sorry after my wife was thrown in hell?” I asked, and she looked down at her lap, avoiding my eyes. “Do you really expect me to trust a word that you’re telling me now? One minute you’re saying that I am the bad guy of this story. You’re telling me that I am d*ick, that I have done my mistakes, and I do not deny them. I made every single mistake that you mentioned. But never once did I put you at risk, Delilah.”
“You cheated on me, Alexander.” She said, making me frown. Her eyes avoided mine and I shook my head.

“And that gave you the excuse to do this?”
“I am righting my wrongs. We all grew up throughout this path. You went from being that selfish man who cared about nothing and no one but himself to a man who is in love. You went from a man who saw me someone to a man who found his mate.” She said, and I shook my head before getting up from my chair. “I understand your anger with me, Alexander.”
“Anger is a downgraded word.” I said, stopping her. “Anger is used to describe an emotion that you can control. What I feel right now is betrayal, and not for me. Believe me, Delilah, you could have shot a bullet at me, and I wouldn’t be feeling what I feel now.”
“She slept with you…”
“I slept with her, and not the other way around.” I said, stopping her. “I seduced her into thinking that I would claim her as my mate, and I f*ucking rejected her while she was naked on top of the bed. I took her first time to reject her, do you understand me? That is how bad I am, that is how f*ucked up my mind is, and that is how much I wanted to do this. You chose to throw her into hell, and I don’t know why you did it to her. You could have done so to me.”
“I didn’t want to hurt you,”
“You already did,” I said, shaking my head at her. “I don’t know why you brought me here, but we leave at dawn. My daughter is safer here, I am not stupid. I know that these are safe grounds and that is the one reason why Vladimir can’t approach anyone here. However, I am no longer waiting for you. I want things to end, and when they do, I am going to ask you to f*ucking stay away from my family and I. No matter what the f*ucking outcome.”
“I killed my father to save you,”
“I can bet on my life that it wasn’t done for me.” I said, glaring at her. “And the two of us know how much you hated Jordan; therefore, no need to play this pathetic game on me.”
“Alex…”
“I’ll find my way to my daughter, good night…”
“Stay safe, baby girl.” I said, k*issing my daughter’s forehead. “Daddy is going to bring your mom home for you.”
Laurel stood a step back, watching me in silence before I rose to my feet.
“Whatever it is that you want, I will do when I am back. Name the price, and I am more than willing to pay.” I said, looking at the woman who smiled.
“It is my job, Alpha Alexander. And your child is safe here.” She said, and I nodded before walking past the woman. I rushed toward the door, mostly because I could hear the path ahead of me. I didn’t know where I was to begin with and focuses on both my scent and hearing.
My heart raced as I thought of Delilah’s words, and the fact that I couldn’t blame her played in my head. In theory, and in her eyes, I deserved everything that I was going through, and though she was somewhat right, the two of us have had more downs than we will ever have ups, I hated that she used my wife as her bait.
“I believe that you won’t be able to take down Vladimir without help.” Delilah’s voice broke my attention. I frowned and turned to face her.
The woman had the nerves to come here and speak to me after what I heard and learned from her. “You may be angry with me, Alexander, and if anyone knows you when angry, it is me. But at this point, the two of us also know that you need all the help that you can get.”
“I would rather I die than get help from the woman who sent my wife to her doom.” I said, and she looked down at her feet. “My apologies if I ruined your perfect image in front of those that you were supposed to be playing angel in front of. But I would rather I go alone, thank you.”
“What if help came from your pack?” A woman asked, making me frown in confusion. My pack members walked from behind Delilah, emerging from the crowd that were initially here to help me out. “You might trust her, but I am sure that you are going to trust us, Alpha Alexander…”
