Alpha Alexander by LS Barbosa
Chapter 155 (Alexander)
“How is she?” Scarlett asked, holding a blanket around her shoulders as she looked down at Anastasia who was asleep in her crib.
“She is fine, she missed you…”
“I was referring to Netanya, Alexander.” She said, not looking at me. I stayed quiet for a few seconds before nodding.
“The doctors have managed to stop the bleeding. Her state is yet to be stable, but we will keep our hopes high.” I said, and she nodded.

I slowly walked toward her and put both my hands on her shoulder. She looked at them for a second before she moved away from me. I frowned in confusion, and she looked down at her feet as she turned to face me.
“I don’t think that the two of us should…”
“Scarlett, I just got you back after months of losing you, and…”
“I know, Alexander, and you have no idea how much I thought of you.” She said, taking me off guard. My c*hest ached, and my breath got caught in my throat. Her heart raced against her c*hest, and she shook her head. “But I also thought of how h*ard our relationship was, how toxic, and how much pain the two of us caused one another. Alexander, it is not something that the two of us can deny, you know that.”
“Scarlett, I held on for you. Hell, I fought for you, and fought to survive for you.” I said, frowning at her words.
“I know, and I for you, Alex.” She said, taking my hand in hers. She ran her finger over my mine and closed her eyes as she tried taking a deep and slow breath. “I am not going to tell you that you did anything wrong, Alexander. Our relationship was hell, and we went through what we shouldn’t, I understand that very well. But being with Vladimir showed me that I needed to be firm to get what I wanted. And if I am going to be able to fight for my daughter, and if I am going to have to one day teach her not to accept being mistreated, I have act upon it first.”
“Scarlett…”
“I love you, Alex.” She said, stopping me. “But for now, I really don’t think that the two of us should be together. Maybe after this war ends, and maybe after everything is settled, the two of us can talk about things. But right now, I don’t want to be driven by the pain of missing you. I want you to know that my love and respect for you will not perish, but we have an Alpha that we have to kill, and until that happens and until we know where we are standing, I can’t think straight to know what I really want.”
She stood on her toes and k*issed my cheek before walking out of the room.
Her heart raced against her ribcage and I closed my eyes, ignoring my pain before walking to my sleeping daughter. My c*hest burned as I processed her words, knowing for fact that things were not as I have imagined they would be. I did hope that we would be able to maintain a certain relationship and a certain union. Yes, I knew that we were not perfect, but the last thing that I expected was to find myself breaking up with my mate on the very night that I found her.
She didn’t even know or understand the fact that she was of noble blood, but that was something that I was going to have to deal with later. For now, I knew that she was nowhere near ready to find out and understand what was going on.
“I give you my word, Anastasia. I am not going to rest until I have earned your mom’s heart back. I promise you, little one.” I whispered to my daughter who s*ucked her thumb. “I love you so much, baby girl…”
“Are you sure that you are ready for this?” Delilah asked, and I nodded. Scarlett stood to my right and Delilah was one step forward. “And Scarlett? You barely just got back…”
“I know what I am doing, Delilah.” She said, stopping her. “The man and his ‘mate’ took my family away from me. I am not going to rest until I have had their heads.”
She nodded and we turned to face the house’s garden. I looked at my wife whose eyes met mine for a second before she nodded.
It has been a week since she got back, and unless it was talking about Anastasia, the two of us didn’t even look at one another. It pained me to do so, and I couldn’t help but want to hold her in my arms, but I knew better than to f*orce her into something that she didn’t want right now. To say the least, I knew that I should at least give her the chance to snap out of her pain first.
“You two have some nerve coming here.” Mathew said, walking out of the pack house to face us. Most of the b*odyguards who were by the door were long dead, and some chose to flee or side with us before we even entered the pack grounds. I knew that those who ran might have told him of our presence, but this wasn’t something that I wanted to care about. If anything, I wanted him to know that we were here.
“Yes, because you chose to believe that you were going to get away with what you did.” Scarlett said, crossing her arms over her c*hest. Mathew frowned at her sight before mom walked out. Her hair was on her face and she waved her hands with each step she took before she levitated off the ground. I frowned and wrapped my arm around my wife, pulling her back. Her heart raced, and she frowned. “Well, if it isn’t my little b*ody.” She said, and Scarlett frowned in confusion. I growled in warning, and Mathew returned the favor. “I can assume that this is where we attack?” Mathew asked, “or are you going to cut your numbers to save your ‘women’. You know, I am surprised that the two of you managed to get along, seeing you together, I never would have expected…”
“This one is for my family…” The man’s eyes widened in surprise as his c*hest was pierced with a bullet. I frowned in confusion and looked at Scarlett, who held her gun at him. The pack froze, and she growled in warning. However, that didn’t stop mom from running toward her.
“ATTACK!” I yelled, not wanting to process what happened. I wrapped my arm around her, watching as her eyes darkened as her canines grew. “You okay?”
“I am fine,” she said, before turning to face a man who almost attacked us. I pushed her behind me and grabbed his gun before he could hurt us with it, shooting him in the head before using his b*ody as a shield as one of his mates went to shoot us.
I watched as Scarlett fought back those who wanted to attack her, and she growled, making me frown as I smelled her blood. Her shoulder was shot. I growled and ran toward the man before snapping his n*eck. I looked at Scarlett who frowned before putting a hand on her shoulder.
She nodded in assurance before I turned around to pull the heart of the man who almost approached me out.
“ALEXANDER!” Scarlett screamed from behind me, and I frowned before turning around to find my mother laying on the ground and what looked like a snake, if I could call it that, emerging from her b*ody. Her eyes were wide open and her eyes and ears were bleeding. I didn’t need to check for her heartbeat to know that she was dead. The snake lifted Scarlett with it, and I couldn’t help but shake my head.
“No.” I whispered, and Delilah ran to me just as I wanted to go and rush to my wife. Her eyes met mine and she shook her head before pulling out a small pen.
“What the f*uck are you…?”
“You will not kill this using a gun.” She said, handing me a crossbow. Scarlett’s eyes were wide in surprise, and my heart raced against my c*hest as she tried escaping the thing that started wrapping itself around her b*ody. Her heart raced, and she shook her head as her bones started cracking. “You have one arrow, and it has to be in its c*hest.”
“How the f*uck do I find…”
“Right under the n*eck.” She said, and I frowned. It was where this thing held Scarlett.
“You have to be kidding…” Scarlett screamed, and I frowned at the sight of blood that started pouring from her nose.
“You know, little wolf.” The snake spoke, looking her in the eye as it turned Scarlett to face it. “You would have been a good wolf if you chose to listen. Your mother would have been dying to meet you.”
“What?” Scarlett asked, frowning in confusion.
“It is too bad, that you will not live long enough to see that.” It said, making me frown, distracting me momentarily. “But the good news is, you will get to meet your father…”
“Alexander, NOW!” Delilah yelled, snapping me out of my daze. I shook my head, and the snake turned its expression to me and Delilah before dropping my wife’s b*ody on the ground, making her cry out. I looked at the thing for a second too long, finding my aim, before I pushed the trigger of the cross bow.
The arrow flew, hitting the snake’s n*eck, and the snake hissed, looking at me with a menacing cold expression.
“Is that all you…?” The snake’s b*ody froze for a second before turning into stone. My eyes widened in surprise and I watched as its b*ody dropped and perished. The ground beneath us shook, and my eyes widened before I looked at my wife as the ground cracked under her feet. She couldn’t move to run or even crawl, and her eyes met mine. “Alexander, we need to run…”
“I am going to go and get her.” I said, stopping Delilah. I ran as fast as my feet could carry me, watching as the ground crumbled beneath our feet. The pack ran away, most of those who were in the house fell inside the hole, and I watched as the ground started crumbling under my wife before wrapping my arm around her and pulling her to the nearest tree. She covered her face in my c*hest, and I held her tightly, making sure that she wasn’t harmed.
“Alexander…”
“We are going to get out of this, baby girl. You just have to be patient.” I whispered to her, holding her tightly. Her heart raced, and she did her best to fist my shirt, as I looked down at her. Then, as if nothing was happening, everything just stopped.
My heart raced, and I looked at my wife for a second before taking a deep breath.
“Alex…”
“We did it, baby girl.” I whispered to her. “We got our revenge…”
