He’s My Alpha by Cassandra M Chapter 82

He’s My Alpha by Cassandra M (Jake & Clair)

Chapter 82

Clair

In a few hours, the ceremony would start and it has been a whole day that I haven’t seen Jake. I was few days and his absence was slowly annoying me now.

I tried to mind linked him but looked like he shut down his mind for me which pissed me off as well. Elder Rose explained that before the ceremony, they kept the woman secluded only to show her to her Alpha at the altar. But I missed him already.

I closed my eyes and leaned back on the couch where I was lounging. Dad has sent a mindlink earlier that he would drop by, I was expecting him to show up any time now.

And Luisa too.

Two days ago, Jake and I went to the Night Howler’ s Pack territory and made a truce with my uncle. I told him I would drop the case for kidnapping and for forcing me to attend the Claiming that we were about to submit to the council if he would accept my terms.

One of them was about Luisa. It was stipulated on the conditions that I would get to see Luisa once a month and by the time she turned 18, she would stay with me for 2 weeks.

Of course, he was adamant to accept it but we left him with no choice.

Jake wasn’t in agreement with this. He wanted my uncle to pay for his sins. But I wanted to save my cousin because she saved me. If it weren’t for her, they would never found out I was at the Claiming. This was my only chance to pay her back and he couldn’t argue with that.

I wanted Luisa to find her own mate. At least to have that option.

Alpha Aeon also had offered a truce and declared that he has nothing to do with all of this. He requested an audience with Jake yesterday.

Although he was not allowed inside the territory, Jake with his Beta and Gamma went to face him by the border.

He offered an apology while clearing his name. My mate was still furious at him but he accepted his apology, although all transactions and partnerships they were supposed to have were voided already. Jake wanted nothing to do with him and his pack.

I guessed it was for the better.

“Clair, sweetheart.” Dad appeared in front of me, taking me out of my thoughts. I jerked up from the couch and wrapped my arms around him.

“Dad! I’m glad to see you.” I shrieked in his arms.

“How are you? Excited for tonight?” He asked after he placed a k*iss on my forehead.

I nodded, my eyes beamed with excitement.

“I’m happy for you, sweetheart, I know it wasn’t easy and it will never get easier from here. But you need to trust your bond with your mate. From now on, he should be the only one you trust completely. “Dad took my hand and pulled me to sit on the couch again. Him sitting beside me.

I nodded but I needed to ask him something.

I was scared to ask Jake because I don’t want to know his answer. “Dad, can I ask something? Do you think If I wasn’t taken, do you think Jake would claim me?”

“Listen sweetheart. He was already planning to claim you the day you were taken. It was the reason he was there eating breakfast with us.”

“He told you?” My eyes squinted.

He nodded.

“You knew? That we were mated?” This time my eyes grew wider. How did he find out?

He nodded again.

“But why are you okay with that? I mean, don’t you hate Jake after everything he did?”

“Why did you stay? Whatever you saw in him, I saw it too. Besides no one can love you better than your mate, Clair. All my life I protected you so you never had to go to that Claiming. I sent you away so your grandfather would never know he still has an Alpha Female he could take when he needed one. I protected you so that you would only end up with your mate.”

He paused for a while before he continued.

“If I had not known Jake all his life, I would be angry, furious, and would probably tell you to reject him. But I knew him and he wasn’t a bad man. He just doesn’t know where to start. But I know he will move mountains for you, I saw it. I felt it. Just as I would for your mother.”

“Dad..” I don’t know what to say. I felt his pain at his mention of Mom.

“Do you know why I’m still living despite my other half is gone? Because of you and Aaron. I promised her I would take care of you both. And I would hold on to that until I’m not capable anymore. She would have been proud of you, sweetheart. And I’m sure she would be happy that you end up with Jake. She had always liked him.”

I smiled at his words and the memories of Mom.

“When I was younger, mom told me to convince Jake that having a Luna is not a bad thing. She said I could do it. Make him change his mind. Maybe., maybe… she wanted me to end up with him.”

“Or maybe she felt you would end up with him.” He smiled at me before pulling out a small red box from his pocket.

“This is for you. I wanted to give you this on your 18th birthday but then you left. But today would be the perfect time to give you this.”

I took the red box from his hand and carefully pulled the ribbon that covers it, slowly opening the box after. My eyes widened with awe as it revealed a necklace with a crescent moon pendant.

“It’s beautiful…” I said in almost a whisper, still awed at how it was encrusted with small gems that accentuated the moon.

“Befitting for a Luna,” Dad said softly, a warm smile tugged on his lips. “It was your mothers. She had it when I met her at the Claiming. It was passed on from her mother, and from generations before her. So, it rightfully belongs to you.”

“Thankyou, Dad.” I cupped the necklace in my hand and held it closed to my chest before scooting on my father as he embraced me on his chest. A soft sob escaped my throat at the memory of my mother. “I wish mom is here,” I told him between my hiccups.

“Me too, sweetheart. Me too.” He answered in a whisper while he tapped and brushed my hair gently.

Jake

The Pavillion was already set and the guests started to fill in, they were now waiting for me to arrive. And Clair would follow after 30 minutes, enough time for me to meet and greet everyone before I present to them my Luna.

I tightened the midnight blue tie Clair had specifically chosen for me to wear tonight. I a*s*sumed she would wear something of this color. She told me before that she would always choose this color for her gowns because it was akin to my eyes. Who was I to complain?

She could have everything she wanted, even the world, and I would gladly lay it on her feet.

My princess.

After tonight, she would be my Queen, my Luna.

Mine.

A satisfied smile curved on my lips as I took a last glance at the full-length mirror in my room. This was placed here two days ago for my mate.

She started to add more things to our room but she had no idea that we would soon move to a bigger suite on the 4th floor and would leave this floor to my Beta. My Gamma would still remain on the 2nd floor. Both the 3rd and 2nd floors had guests rooms and it would stay that way.

But the 4th floor would just be ours. And someday, a playroom for our heir.

One day at a time. For now, that floor would just be for me and my Luna.

A soft knock threw me out of my daydreaming. I picked up my coat and headed for the door, I smelled my Beta. He must be here to inform me that I was already late for the start of the party.

“Beta.” I acknowledged him as soon as I opened the door. I was about to step out of the room when he stopped me and motioned for me to come inside again.

“Anything wrong?” I asked. He was in a better mood now knowing his mate wasn’t claimed yet. “Nothing, but I need your permission.” He said as he leaned on the wall beside my door.

“For what?” My forehead creased.

“Today is a full moon.” He said calmly.

“I know. Blue Moon as well. That’s why I have this union today.” I chuckled. This mate thing surely had messed up with my Beta the same way it did for me when I found out Clair was my mate.

He chuckled as well before shaking his head. “Man, I f*uc*king don’t know how to talk things like this with you, but I had no one who knows.”

“Alia?” I asked, my lips pursed.

“Yes. I a*s*sumed she would go in heat later. And the place was full of unmated males, I had to take her away before it hit. Like you need to mark Clair before it takes over her.”

“I know. But I’m not marking her in public. I will take Clair off the party earlier.” I explained.

“Like we planned. That’s why I’m here. Because I have to tell you that I can’t be there during your ceremony. I know it’s f*uc*king important but I don’t want any wolf to smell her before I can lock her up somewhere.”

I nodded. I knew where he was coming from. “Take care of your girl then. I have Aaron there. Just make sure she’s not anywhere at the party at all, it’s the peak of the full moon.”

“I’ll take her away somewhere before your Union ceremony is over.”

“Okay, then it’s settled.” I nodded and moved towards the door. I wanted to be at the ceremony already.

“Thank you.” He said in a low voice.

I threw my Beta a glance, stopping by the door. “

You know you don’t have to say that. Clair and I owed you our union, so do your thing. It’s time to fix yours.”

He nodded, biting his lower lip before it turned into pursed. “One more thing.”

“Hmmm.” My brow raised.

“Ah, shit man! I never thought I would have this conversation with you. F*uc*k this!”

“Say it! We’re late already.” My voice slightly raised. “How do I handle her heat?” He asked his eyes fixed on the floor, hands on his pocket.

I let out a hearty laugh, before patting his shoulder. “F*uc*k, man. F*uc*k!”

“No. I can’t. She hated me. She’ll hate me more if I took advantage of that.”

“You came to the wrong guy because I had no idea how to, I couldn’t resist Clair so we end up doing it.” I snickered while shaking my head.

“Do you think touching her would suffice?” His face started to darken with red.

“I don’t know.” I shook my head again. “Man, who would have thought we will come this? Where is the f*uc*k boy who knows how to handle his women?”

“I know. But she’s different.” He let out a sigh.

“I know. They’re different. You will know what to do. It’s all on you now but just to help, Jenny placed Clair on the bathtub with iced water, maybe can help for a moment just to drop her temperature.” “I need ice.” He mumbled under his breath. E) “Yup. And we need to go.” I tapped his shoulder once more and opened the door, we walked down to the stairs towards the front door where a car waited for us.

“Don’t think about my ceremony tonight. As soon as you’re able to find a chance to take her away, you’ re free to go.” I told him as he started the engine.
