Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K Chapter 197

Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K

Chapter 197

River came out with a satisfied and confident expression on her face. She joined the family who was still worried about what was going to happen. “Everything’s fine, love,” she said to Hunter who was pacing the room. She went to Lena and hugged her. “I am so happy that we’ve finally become a family.”

Lena smiled. “Has she agreed to marry your boys?” She glanced at Arthur and Hawk who were watching them with a tense expression, their jaws clenched.

River removed herself and placed her h*ands on her shoulders. “No, but I think she is going to contemplate it. She is an intelligent girl despite her age. She is pretty mature and wants to do things her way. I am so glad that my sons will have someone like Lia who has undergone a lot of h*ardships in her life rather than pampered girls who think that being an Alpha’s wife is their privil*ege. And because of that I really respect her. She is a feisty girl who’s like an uncut diamond. With a little polishing, she is going to shine like one.”

“River…” Lena revered River’s thoughts. River had always been the brilliant one in their friendship but today she proved that she was also the wise one. “I can’t tell you how honored I am and happy to be your friend.” River had shown so much patience in this matter that it was commendable. Lia was a stubborn child and it was only River who managed to break the ice and compel her to think about marriage.

Arthur and Hawk released a sigh of relief. “I’ll go to talk to heif said Hawk to Arthur. “Will you join me?”

“No, I have to be with father. He plans on sending official letters to all the Alphas. I’ll be with him. I will join you two later.’’

Hawk nodded and went to Lia as the family broke into another conversation. He was aware of Shawn’s eyes on him and he knew that Shawn would need some alone time with his daughter.

“Lia!” Hawk called her as soon as he entered the room. She was sitting on the bed and writing furiously on her notepad.

“Hawk!” She patted the space beside her. “Come sit here. I am writing down the pros and cons of the situation. I need your input.”

He chuckled and hurried to sit next to her. He jumped on the other side and settled on the pillow, curling his arm around her waist. He saw that she had made two columns with heading ‘pros’ and ‘cons’. Beneath them she had written all the important points of the wedding and how it will impact her. Somehow her list of cons was larger than the pros.

“After marriage, your parents will force me to have babies!” she cried.

He chuckled and crossed that point. “We won’t have. Not until you want to have pups.”

“Are you sure?” she said with a smile. “I mean having babies would mean that I will have to stop my studies. I would want to give all my time to our babies.”

He lifted his gaze to her as his c*hest filled with warmth when she said, ‘our babies’. She cupped the back of her n*eck and pulled her closer to him to k*iss her. “Baby girl, though I would love to have pups with you, I will never force you, nor will Arthur.”

She grinned as that weight eased off. Her pros became better. “I will have pups when I have finished my graduation and that’s a promise.”

“I can wait for eternity, baby girl,” Hawk replied.

“As far as training for being a Luna is concerned, can’t I join a martial arts class in college?”

“Of course you can, but Arthur and I can also teach you.”

“Wonderful!” she breathed. “And there’s one thing that is gnawing at my heart.”

“What?” he asked with a frown.

“I know it is important for you and Arthur to stay in your pack and help your father and mother, but I can’t stay without you two. I mean-” Her l*ips downturned. “I want to be with both of you.” Even the thought of parting with them was like daggers to her heart. She placed the notepad and pen on the side table.

Hawk let out an exasperated breath. “I don’t know about Arthur, but I will come with you. It would be impossible for me to stay without you.” He pulled her closer to him and wrapped her t*highs with his l*eg. She snuggled in his c*hest and inhaled his scent as he stroked her hair. He leaned over and l*icked his mark over her n*eck. “Between Arthur and me, I am more impulsive and aggressive. My wolf would go berserk without his mate. I need you to always stay by my side in order to remain sane.”

She k*issed him on his c*hest. She craned her n*eck up and k*issed his chin. “Thank you, Hawk. I can’t stay without you also. I don’t know why but after you’ve marked me, I feel a strange bond between us which is so strong that the idea of it getting severed is like—” she shook her head. “I’d rather die.”

He pulled her t*ightly against him. “It is natural, baby girl,” he said. “That’s the law of the Moon Goddess.”

They remained silent for a long time in each other’s arms. At last, Hawk asked, “What have you decided about marriage?”

She took a deep breath. “I have to talk to Arthur also.”

“Sure,” he said, k*issing the crown of her head.

They came out to be with the family and everyone greeted them excitedly. Arthur and Hunter weren’t there and Lia came to know that they had gone to the office.

“But is it okay to announce me as the official Luna even before our wedding?” she asked Shawn.

“Do you want to stop them?” he asked. “Because if you wouldn’t want it, I will ask them to stop it now.”

“No, that’s not what I mean.”

Shawn held her h*ands in between his large one. “Lia, I understand what you are thinking. This world is different. Mates are revered. Finding mates is very sacred. It used to be extremely rare because of the enmities between packs, but now more and more Lycans and wolves have found mates. Having said that, it is rare for two Alphas to find one girl as their mate and that one girl is a human. While I understand that you don’t want to get married so fast and get tied down to your duties, this is not how they think. For them it is a celebration. Yet, they are willing to adjust for you. In my opinion, you should cut some slack out here.”

Lia laughed as she rested her head on her father’s arm. “I thought you were against it all.”

“What? Never!” He countered. “I was ever against it, but you were above all of it.”

“Oh daddy!” She hugged him from the side and k*issed his arm. “You are the best daddy in the world.”

“How many daddies have you had, Lia?”

Lia burst into laughter. “None.” Suddenly she stopped laughing. “I wished Garry would become my daddy, but he had other intentions.”

Arthur came to sit next to them. He picked up a gr*ape from the plate and popped it in his m*outh.

“What kind of intentions?” Shawn asked, wary of her words.

Lia pursed her l*ips. “He-” She looked away.

“Lia?” Shawn held her jaw softly and turned her face to him. “You have to tell me.”

“He tried to r-r*ape me.”

Arthur jumped up as a dangerous growl left his c*hest, while Shawn’s eyes were wide with shock. “R*ape you?”

“I am going to k*ill that bastard!” Arthur growled.

“It’s fine! Don’t get your knickers twisted,” Lia said. “He doesn’t know where I am and I don’t care for him.” For the next two days, Lia attended the school with the twins but she didn’t talk much about the marriage part. Hunter also decided not to send the official letters so soon. Lia talked to Arthur, asking him the same questions and she received the same answers except for one. Arthur wasn’t sure that he could accompany her to the college. And that made her very sad.

It was on the Saturday evening after dinner when they were all sitting in the living hall that she breached the topic. “I have thought about it all a lot over the past few days and-” she glanced at her mates who she knew waited for her decision with a bated breath. “And I have decided that I will marry my mates.”

“Whoop!”

“Yay!”

“Congratulations!”

There was so much cheering in the room that Lia gushed. She giggled. Arthur and Hawk looked relieved. They both smiled at her and then hugged as if silently complementing each other.

“But there’s one other thing that I wanted to say.”

“We know,” River replied with a grin. “You will go to college after school.”

“No, I won’t go,” she said in a low voice. Everyone in the room grew quiet. Lia fidgeted with her f*ingers in her lap. “I tried to convince myself that I could go, but how can I without Arthur? It would be like leaving a part of my soul here.” She lifted her eyelashes to look at him and found him staring at her intensely. “I can’t live without either of you. I understand that you have to be with Alpha Hunter and so I’ve decided that I will also stay here.”

“What about your dream of going to college?” River asked.

Lia couldn’t answer that. Her vision got blurry and she lowered her eyes. Thick drops of tears fell from them. Hawk instantly came to sit by her side and pulled her in his lap. “Baby girl?”

“I can’t-” she shook her head. “It’s impossible to think of a life without him. So I have decided to stay here.”

“Geez! That’s heavy!” Gabriel rasped as Tina and Gina also went to sit next to Lia. While Elijah looked relaxed, Mia and Hunter were perturbed.

Arthur stabbed his f*ingers in his hair. He let out a rough exhale. He got up and walked out to breathe in fresh air. It was painful to see his mate crying over something that wasn’t in his control. As the elder son of his parents, he had to take care of his Alpha duties. Feeling too t*ight in his c*hest, he let his wolf out and loped into the woods.
