Chapter 210

“Lia?” Arthur grasped her t*high as she shuddered. Blood drained from her face. Her heart was beating so fast that he became restless.

Hawk turned back sharply in the direction of her gaze, his l*ips peeling back in a silent snarl, his eyes scanning the whole crowd in the restaurant.

“Lia?” Arthur shook her l*eg slightly. “What did you see?”

Her breath became ragged as past memories flooded her. The way he tried to r*ape her, the way she escaped and the way he came after her. Clamping her teeth, she closed her eyes, trying to tamper her emotions. “It’s nothing,” she muttered. “I am imagining things.”

But Arthur and Hawk weren’t convinced. “What did you imagine?” Hawk asked as he extended his h*and over the table and covered hers.

She took a deep breath in. “I think I saw someone like Garry. But I am sure I am imagining things,” she chuckled nervously. “It is highly improbable that he would come here.”

“That’s right,” Arthur said. “He has way too many criminal records against him. He wouldn’t dare to come around you.”

“Criminal records?” Lia asked, surprised.

“Well, after Shawn found you and brought you back to the Dark Moon pack, he asked father to help him in a way that Garry couldn’t get close to you.”

“And?” Lia blinked her eyes.

“And Alpha Hunter used every lawyer he had to get a restraining order against Garry. He can’t be anywhere near you. If he is seen near you, he will be arrested.” Arthur had a satisfied smile on his face. “So stop worrying, baby girl and have your food.”

She grinned and her face beamed. “Why did you guys tell me before?” She leaned back and relaxed.

“Because it wasn’t worth a mention,” Arthur leaned over and pressed a k*iss on her l*ips. “We will do anything to protect you, baby girl.”

“Aww…” She k*issed him back again. “I love you!”

He l*icked his l*ips. “I love you more.”

She giggled, caressing his cheek. “Sometimes, I wonder if I love you more or I love Hawk more than you.” His c*hest vibrated with a growl as jealousy surged through him. Hawk laughed, digging his fork in noodles and twirling them around it. “You heard it bro,” he said. “She loves me more than you.”

“Oh f*uck off!” Arthur growled at him.

As they laughed and started another conversation, a man stood in the shadows behind a dense fir, watching them. He took a picture of the three laughing together with his phone and then walked out. He took the elevator down to the ground floor and stepped out of the mall, vanishing in the crowd. Once he was at a safe place, behind the shops in an alley, he took his phone out and typed a message.

— Enjoy your days with your mates, Lia. I am coming.

His thumb hovered over the ‘send’ button, but he pressed delete instead. There was no point in alerting her. Hunter had got a restraining order issued against him. If he sent the message, the police would be alerted and his plans quashed.

Ever since Lia had left him, Garry had become restless. He had frantically searched for her. He had tried to extract the information from Debra, Natalie’s friend because he saw Lia with her, but Debra didn’t say a word. Garry had to start his search afresh. He had gone to the bus-station again and again to see if Lia had taken a bus to leave the town, but there was no one registered under that name. Frustrated as hell, he decided to go back to Middleton to look for her. But he was shocked that Hunter had put restraining orders on him.

His former colleagues barely helped him because of his s*hitty reputation and because no one wanted to be seen with him. His desperation to find her grew to the level that he became obsessed with her. Even though he could no longer get her child support money, he wanted her. He knew that after Natalie, it was Lia who would satisfy him. No other woman was as beautiful as Lia.

After two years of searching, he had finally come to know that Lia was in this town in a college. He would search the campus for her, keeping low and never going to the administration building, lest they might inform her or ask about him. But his patience paid off. Three months back, he saw Lia with two boys and a girl. It was the girl he followed and came to know that she was Maggie. And Maggie was dangerously in love with Hawk. He had witnessed her looking at Hawk’s pictures on the phone and pleasuring herself, giving herself o*rgasms after o*rgasms, screaming his name. What he wondered was that how come Hawk wasn’t interested in her. Two months back, when he thought he would take his first move to go close to Lia, she had gone away with the two boys. He hated Arthur and Hawk because they both seemed enamored with her. It was as if they were both her boyfriends. He was going to pluck her away from them and use her for himself. He would lock her up in a small room in his backyard where he would f*uck her to his heart’s content.

Lia returned with Arthur and Hawk a few days later, but he was too scared to go near her. The two boys never left her side. They were pretty muscular and tall. It was like if they wanted, they could rip him into shreds. So he maintained his distance. He had to meet Maggie to extract more information about them. When he searched her small apartment after she had left, he came across the address of the psychiatric institution she was admitted in. When he met her, Maggie spilled all the information to him on one condition—she wanted freedom and Hawk. He promised her both. Right now Maggie was in his small home, maybe in his bed. Until he got Lia back, Maggie would do.

The girl was slightly mad. She had bipolar disorder, but it was nothing he couldn’t manage. She had told him where she kept her stash of money. It was a fat stash. He used it to buy drugs that kept her… drugged.

As Garry walked towards his small dingy apartment, he bought two bacon cheeseburgers from a street vendor. He had learnt from Maggie that she didn’t want to go back home. He had to forge a lot of documents to give her a new identity and to get her released from the institution.

“Garry!” Maggie hissed from their small bed. She was under the covers. Her hair was mangled and her mascara flowed down her cheeks. “I need that medicine,” she demanded. “My b*ody is flushed.”

He smiled as he sat near her. “Maggie, first have your dinner.” When she became free, he had told her his real name. “I am Garry, not Harry.”

She grabbed the burger from him and took large bites to eat it fast. “Now give me that medicine,” she said greedily. He leaned over her, picked up the medicine from his side drawer and put it in between his teeth. “Take it.”

She gave him a l*usty smile and snatched it with her teeth from his. A few minutes later, her b*ody started floating in the air. “Catch me, Garry,” she murmured. “Hold me.”

Garry grabbed her h*ard and pinned her on the bed. “Guess what?” She giggled. “You want to get inside me.”

“I saw Lia with her two husbands.”

She laughed loudly. “Get Hawk to me.”

“Soon,” he whispered.

The frat party took place in the frat house. It was a regal building with a wrap-around porch. A cobbled path divided the garden into two. Esters, flox, lavender and roses dominated the garden. It was full of college boys and girls, having exciting conversations.

In her pink silk dress, Lia looked lovely. Her hair was braided but golden ringlets escaped and swayed around her face. Hawk tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. “You look so beautiful that I feel like taking you someplace where only I can look at you. I feel jealous when anyone else looks at you.” Arthur tittered at his brother’s restlessness, but he could relate to it.

She smacked his arm. “Focus on the party!”

The soccer captain came to them. “Arthur! Hawk!” He shook h*ands with them as his eyes landed on Lia. “You look lovely!” he breathed, mesmerized. “Come over. The boys want to meet you.”
