Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K
Chapter 231
Torben looked at his younger brother with a horrified expression on his face. “Are you f*ucking mad?” he snarled. “You will end up making enemies. Not only Alpha Arthur and Alpha Hawk are going to come after you, Alpha Ranger will also join them. Have you forgotten how we k*illed his parents on that night just to loot their food? Why can’t you get it into your thick head, Howie? Alpha Ranger is already pissed because you k*illed Matt. If Alpha Arthur will come to know that you are the one behind all the commotion in his pack, he is not going to spare you. And your deeds will bite my a*ss too.”
Howie rubbed his h*ands. Ignoring the warning from his brother, he gritted, “This was just a part of the plan. I didn’t know that it was Matt before we lynched him. Since I smelled him as a different wolf of another pack, I ordered my men to lynch. It was just a fagade. We k*illed him because we thought it would be safe because no family would be able to trace his connection!”
“F*uck you!” Torben roared. “I haven’t seen a bear as stupid as you are. You have already k*illed a few pack members. One more wouldn’t have mattered!”
“That’s the whole thing! I saw some warriors sniffing around, and so this was just a change in my plans!” Howie gritted his teeth as he looked at the fireplace. The burning fire mimicked the embers in his c*hest. He had come here fifteen years back in order to settle when his son was three, and buy land of the Dark Moon pack. He offered an exorbitant price for it. But why did he do that? The only reason was that his father had given the Alpha’s position to his older brother. What about him? He was also born to rule.

Torben leaned forward and said, “Listen Howie, just get Ethan out of the contest and return to the Oberon pack. That is safest for you and Ethan right now. Let this Alpha trial get over and after that you can come back. I heard that Alpha Arthur and Alpha Hawk were open to discussions.”
“And leave whatever I have achieved so far?” he retaliated.
Torben shook his head. “Don’t let your ambitions get in the way of your safety. If you don’t want to come, send Ethan.” He got up and let out an exasperated sigh. “We are n*eck deep in it. With Ethan gone, maybe Alpha Ranger won’t come after you. If he does, God save us. Moreover, with Alpha Trials on, the whole pack is only immersed in it. No one is going to look at what you are demanding. You must understand that Alpha Arthur is using his daughter to divide the attention of the citizens of the Dark Moon pack. Isn’t it that obvious?”
“I didn’t know that Alpha Arthur would come up with a brilliant plan for Alpha Trials,” said Howie, slapping the table. “My plans have taken a backseat!”
“Yes, that’s the whole issue. Your plans have to be buried deep down until Alpha Trials are over,” Torben tried to reason with him.
“Or-” Howie raised his eyebrow. “I can increase my efforts.”
“Howie!” Alpha Torben shouted. “What part of not getting into this muck doesn’t get into your thick head? With Ethan as a contestant in the Alpha Trials, you have put him into fire. Get him out of any condition and come back to the Oberon pack. You will be safer there.”
“I didn’t put him in the contest!” Howie retaliated.
“Then who asked him to join it?” Torben asked, his eyes wide with disbelief.
“I have no idea. Ethan had gone to the Oberon pack and I was here sitting with my pack members, discussing how to take it further. We had plans to disrupt the Alpha Trials, however when I heard Ethan’s name in the trials, I was taken aback. With him in the trials, there’s no way we can disrupt it. Ethan will be in grave danger. So I asked my men to stop doing anything unless Ethan comes out.”
Torben stabbed his blonde hair with his f*ingers. “If you mean that Ethan didn’t propose his name, then someone plotted to put his name there?”
“Yes,” Howie growled. “There were supposed to be five alphas, but Ethan is the sixth one and the only bear-shifter.” He thumped his fist on the palm of his other h*and. “With Ethan in the contest, our whole agenda has gone bad. While most think that this is a good gesture, my men think that I am trying to betray them.”
“F*uck, this is complicated!” Torben rasped.
“That is why I am asking Ethan to convince Keya to throw him out of the trials,” Howie said.
“Why don’t you just withdraw his name?”
“If I do that, Alpha Arthur and Alpha Hawk would be suspicious.”
“Then you better ask Ethan to lose the next trial. Is that clear?” Torben suggested. “Yes, I will.”
“Who could have put his name for the Alpha Trials?”
“I’ve been trying to find out…”
Vera was sitting in the pub, watching the people going out and coming in. It was 9 PM and his Alpha hadn’t come back. Why did he have the feeling that Alpha Ranger was smitten by Princess Keya. It was like he had eyes only for Princess Keya. When they had come, Alpha Ranger wanted to k*ill Ethan and then members of the royal family, but now he was not even close to his mission. Has his Alpha gone soft-hearted? He took a deep sigh as he sat on his barstool, wondering what his Alpha would do next when a girl came up to him.
“Hi,” she said with a blush. “I am Lola.”
“Hi,” Vera took the opportunity. He sniffed her. She was a bear-shifter. Tall, with blonde hair, she had typical light brown eyes of the bear-shifters. Her curves were generous and he would love to squeeze them.
“How are you?” she asked as she climbed the barstool next to him.
“Good,” he replied with a smile. “Can I buy you a drink?” he asked.
“Sure,” she said with a grin. “I would like vodka.”
Vera turned to the bartender and ordered a shot of vodka for her. “Are you new here?” he asked because he hadn’t seen her once ever since he had come here.
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “Umm… no. But you look like you are new.”
He chuckled, “I have recently discovered this pub.”
“I see,” she said with a soft smile.
Over the conversation and a few more vodka shots, Vera came to know more about her. Lola was into cooking and dancing and dreamt of being a perfect housewife for her mate one day.
“You’ve found a mate,” he asked, feeling like he wasted all the money on her vodka.
“No!” she giggled. “Not yet.”
He let out a sigh of relief. “Great.” He drank all his whiskey.
“Would you like to walk with me?” she asked. “I feel stifled here,” she waved at the busy pub. People were talking loudly over the music and food.
“Sure,” Vera said. This was going to end up nicely if everything went perfectly. He was starved of s*ex all the while he had been here.
They went out of the pub and Lola guided him towards the market square. They chatted more about her interests and hobbies.
“How long have you been here?” he asked. Accidentally, he t*ouched her f*ingers as they walked and the sensation went directly to his c*ock. Whoa! He was surely s*ex starved.
“I came here when I was five. My father bought a house. We live in the Oberon community houses.”
“Oberon? That’s the same name as the name of your pack up north?”
“Yes,” she chuckled. “Our leader, Howie Torri, wanted to give it the same name and so he requested Alpha Arthur.”
“Nice!” Vera replied with a smile.
As they talked more, he didn’t realize where she was leading him and he ended up in a small children’s park that was lonely at this time. Lola sat on the swing and gestured to him to sit on the swing. As she lightly swung, she asked, “Tell me about you, Vera.”
“I…” he chuckled. “I am with—” he stopped himself. His gaze snapped to her. How did she know his name? He remembered not mentioning it to her. His heart rate spiked up when he heard a low growl from somewhere in the distance. He clenched his teeth. He shouldn’t have trusted a bear-shifter. They lynched his beta. How could he commit the same mistake? “I really have to go, Lola,” he said, getting up.
She got up instantly and came in front of him. She looked at him s*eductively. “Where? We’ve just met.” He narrowed his eyes. “Why don’t you come with me to my apartment? Will that work with you?” He had to be very careful here. Rather than being violent, he had to use his brains and get the f*ucking out of here.
She c*ocked her head and l*icked her l*ips. Taking his h*and in hers, she brought them to her h*ips and pressed it there. “How about we make out here?”
He chuckled, removing his h*and immediately. “No babe. I don’t like showing off my c*ock. If you are interested, come on over.” Saying that he started to walk out of the park.
“Hey, wait!” she called him from behind. She sprinted fast and caught up with him, but by that time they were out of the park and in the main market square. “What happened?” she asked, p*anting when they stopped. Vera narrowed his eyes. “I need to go.”
She caught his h*and. “Then take me to your apartment.” She grabbed his waist and pulled him closer. “I want you to discover me. With your t*ongue.”
His c*ock shot up again. He breathed, “I will take a rain check on that Lola. Let’s meet here tomorrow.” As he left her, he could hear a muffled growl from her. He hurried back to the hotel, wondering what was that all about.
It was almost 9 PM and Keya was fretting in her room. Alpha Ranger had told her that he might come to visit her in the evening and he hadn’t come. Now there was so much security around the castle that he couldn’t cross it.
Everyone would come to know if he breached the security and it might disqualify him. A heavy knock pounded on the door. Excited, she jumped out of the bed and opened the door, but her face fell. “Ethan?”
