Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K
Chapter 232
Ethan was leaning on the frame of the door as he stared at her. “I know it is late, but can I come in?” he asked. Keya wasn’t sure about it. Though she tried to convince herself that it wouldn’t be an issue, she didn’t know how Ranger would react. At the same time, it wasn’t like Ranger would come to meet her at this hour. So why was she so worried? “Is it something important?” she asked, just because she was trying to convince herself to let him in. He jerked his head back softly with a raised eyebrow. “It is’’ he replied in a mysterious way.
She rolled her l*ips within her teeth. “Okay…” she said and let him in. When Ethan stepped in, she let the door stay open.
Ethan walked to the couch near the fire and sat down comfortably with one l*eg crossed over his knee. He sprawled his h*and over the backrest. “In the morning I asked you a question. I hope you have reconsidered it,” he said, tilting his head to the side and looking at her with tiredness.
Keya walked to sit opposite him. She grabbed a cushion and clutched it against her c*hest. “I don’t remember. Can you repeat your question?” She wasn’t focusing on him at all because she was looking only for Ranger all the time. Her interest in Ranger was becoming pretty unhealthy now.

Ethan let out an exasperated sigh. “Come on, Keya. I asked you to eliminate me in the next alpha trials. Is it so difficult?”
Keya poked her t*ongue in her cheek as she looked away. “Seriously Ethan,” she said, looking back at him. “Why do you want to get out of the trials? Can’t you see how things have turned?”
“What do you mean?” he asked, narrowing his eyes on her.
“With the alpha trials on, people have become less violent. There are less incidences of violence across the pack. It is great for the Dark Moon pack. I am not going to stop it and eliminate you only because you want it,” she stated clearly. Ranger had already promised her that he wouldn’t t*ouch him during the trials. Moreover, her mother had told her that the trials had been a bigger success than they had anticipated.
Ethan let out a frustrated grunt. “I don’t want to be a part of your trails. I already told you that I am not interested in you!”
“Then why the hell did you participate?” she retorted.
“I didn’t! I don’t know who the hell-”
Before he could complete his sentence, she picked up her h*and and stopped him. “It is too late now, Ethan. I am not going to eliminate you. You have to prove your worth and it is up to you to remain in the competition or not. I will not cheat!”
“What the f*uck!” Ethan spat. “You can’t help me? I don’t want to marry you, damn it. Why can’t you get over me?” She jerked her head back in surprise. She had a crush on Ethan and there was a time when she wanted him to marry her so badly. Seeing how he was behaving with her, she felt that she had been so stupid. In contrast to him, Ranger was actually wooing her. The way he looked at her so possessively, the way he reacted to her in every situation and the kind of reaction he elicited in her— it was all so breathtaking. He did whatever she asked him to but he also demanded her to fulfill his wishes. He was dominant and he was forgiving. Whereas Ethan— he was only demanding.
She chuckled at the comparison. She said, “It’s not about marrying you, Ethan. It’s about the competition which has stopped violence in the pack and I will do what is right for the pack. Shouldn’t you also do the same?” She asked him the question and suddenly realized why wasn’t he in sync with the same sentiment?
He thumped the cushion of the couch as he stood up. He sneered, “What happens if I win the competition? Will you marry someone who is not interested in you?”
“Absolutely not,” she replied, amazed at his behavior. “I won’t, and I do believe that you won’t win the competition.” She got up to ask him to leave.
He clenched his teeth h*ard. He grabbed her h*and and said, “Keya, I don’t know what is wrong with you. You used to be so nice and sweet with me, but now- now you are so distant. Is it because of Alpha Ranger?”
“What if it is because of me?” A deep, t*hroaty snarl came from the door, making them snap their faces. “Alpha Ranger?” Keya rasped. His face had such a dark expression that she flinched. She was hoping that he would come to meet her, but he caught her at a bad time.
Ranger walked inside the room taking one menacing step after another, his eyes fixed on their joined h*ands. He reached her and pulled her to his side, grabbing her waist.
“Alpha Ranger!” She glared at him and tried to get out of his grasp but he didn’t leave her.
“Now you may leave because there’s no way that you can get out of the trials. If you will bother her again, then I will report you for cheating,” Ranger said in an ominous voice. “And imagine your reputation after that.” Ethan’s face flushed with anger. “You-” he pointed his f*inger at him.
“Yes, me,” Ranger said in a cold voice looking at his f*inger. “Remember that while you are competing in the trials, you are safe.”
“What the f*uck do you mean?” Ethan boiled.
“I mean what I say,” he replied. “Now get the f*uck out of here.” He pulled Keya to his side as if showing who owned her.
Ethan gave an angered look to Keya before leaving. Before stepping out of the room, he said to Keya, “This isn’t over, Keya.”
After his footsteps faded in the corridor, Keya sagged in Ranger’s grasp. Then she smacked him on his arm and said, “What was that for? And how did you manage to enter? Why were you showing your dominance over me? What if Ethan goes out and tells everyone?”
He smirked. “That wasn’t dominance. That was possession.”
“What?” She jerked her head to look at him only to find his c*ocky expression.
“As far as entering the castle is concerned-” he said as he ambled to the couch. “It wasn’t difficult. They don’t call me the Prince of Shadows just like that. I came to see you,” he said without an iota of shame. “Gosh, you are sneaky!” she said, blushing. His l*ips curved up, setting her heart on fire once again.
“And Ethan would never go out and tell anyone about this encounter because then I will tell others that he is trying to influence you to eliminate him.”
She took a deep breath in, feeling happy? Biting her bottom l*ip, she went to sit on the chair farthest from him. “And what are you doing? Aren’t you influencing me to choose you?”
He got up and sauntered to her. He came to stand right in front of her and curled his f*ingers beneath her chin. He lifted her face up and said, “Alpha Trials are about who is going to win. But everything is fair in love and war.
Besides, are you influenced by me?”
He looked into her eyes intensely. A shudder ran down her b*ody and the temperature of the room seemed to increase further. “I am not,” she murmured against the voice i*nside her head that excitedly said that she was heavily influenced.
Ranger knelt down in front of her without breaking eye contact. “Then I think I have to work h*arder.”
“Why do you want me to be influenced?” she asked. Stupid question, Keya.
“Because you are one of a kind,” he replied, leaning forward. Their faces were so close that her mind went blank. “Because you are beautiful.” He leaned closer and now his l*ips were t*ouching hers. “Because you have it in you.” He seized her l*ips with his in a ferocious k*iss, cupping the back of her head. He delved his t*ongue in her m*outh and explored her wildly, s*ucking the breath out of her, s*ucking the life out of her. She clasped him with her t*highs, her h*ands twining his silky dark hair. His fangs grew sharper and punctured her l*ips. She cried, feeling a jolt of p*leasure down her body, but she didn’t let him go. When he pulled back, they were both breathless. He rested his forehead on hers as he p*anted. His eyes went to her l*ips where a drop of blood pooled. He l*icked it and k*issed her tenderly over there. “What if I lose the trials?” he said.
She swallowed down her t*hroat, feeling like someone had punched her gut. The question wasn’t for her but she hated it. She didn’t want him to lose the trials. Whatever was between them was advancing at such a rapid speed that she wasn’t finding time to think. She closed her eyes and waited until her breath was normal. She cupped his cheeks and said, “You won’t.”
He chuckled. “I wouldn’t let anyone win.”
She laughed. “You like me so much?”
“Well, you are a good catch.”
She smacked his c*hest and he roared into laughter. She got up from there and went to bed. However, just when she was sitting, she heard his stomach rumble. “You are hungry!”
He stood and walked to her. “For you.” He was very hungry. For the past hour, he was trying to reach her in the castle. There was no way that they would allow any Alpha to enter her wing. He had had three glasses of whiskey, trying his best not to go to her, but the damn mate pull was driving him crazy. And so was his wolf. He just couldn’t fight his wolf and he found himself beating the shadows to reach her. Finally when he was in front of her room, he saw her with Ethan and that was enough to flare up his jealousy. If it had been for him, he would have challenged Ethan there and then and k*illed him, but he had promised her that he was not going to do anything during the trials.
She blushed at his answer. Her n*ipples t*ightened under his hungry gaze. “If my family comes to know that you are here, trust me they will disqualify you.”
“Who will tell them?” he asked, crossing his arms across his c*hest and placing his feet on her bed. “At least take your boots out!” she chided him and forced his boots out with her h*ands. She turned to leave. “Where are you going?” he asked, holding her h*and and tugging her back.
“I will be right back,” she said. “Don’t leave.”
His l*ips curved up in his trademark arrogant smile. “Okay, but don’t blame me if someone discovers me in your room.”
