Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K Chapter 234

Offered to the Lycan King by Misha K

Chapter 234

When Keya reached the closed stadium, she was ushered to the cabin for the royals where she found her father, Alpha Hawk and mother, Luna Lia. Lia grinned at her as soon as their gazes met. There was no other person from her family. Probably they were already tired of the whole thing.

“Hurry up,” she gestured to her, waving her f*ingers. “You have to announce the next contest.”

With a ragged breath, Keya walked to her parents and sat in their middle. Her eyes went straight to the cabin that was on the opposite side and where she knew the Alphas were sitting. Amongst all the whooping and cheering, she was only focused on that cabin. After a while when she couldn’t see anything through the tinted glasses, she looked at the arena. It was now divided into two iron cages.

Her father leaned towards her and gave her a small folded paper. “It contains the details of the next contest. When the emcee calls you, go to the dais and announce it.”

“Yes daddy,” she said. Out of curiosity, she asked him, “Daddy, have you been able to contain the situation in the pack?”

Hawk pursed his l*ips. “There has been a drop in violence, but there’s something that is at the back of my mind. Now that so many people have backed out from it, I do feel that there is someone behind it. I just can’t point who he is.”

She jerked her head back. “What do you mean?”

“I mean that someone powerful, with money is orc*hestrating these attacks. However, he has backed out now due to lack of money or support,” Hawk replied.

She chuckled. “That’s a very generic statement. Obviously, there is someone behind these attacks. Grisham was telling me last evening that he has caught a few culprits and he has sent them to the dungeons for a ‘question and answer’ session. Lachlan is responsible for that session. Hopefully, we get some answers.”

“It’s not that simple. They all end up saying that they are being paid by unknown sources. Some bear-shifters are fanatics. They say they are doing it because they demand equal rights,” Hawk countered.

“Daddy,” Lia said, turning her face towards him. “What do they mean by equal rights? This is our pack. This is our territory. Grandfather had created a whole god-damned city for the demons. They should go there. As for the bear-shifters, I am not sure…” She tapped her f*inger on her chin and suggested, “Why don’t you suggest building a separate town for the bear-shifters?”

Hawk narrowed his eyes as he looked at the space in front of him. “Not a bad idea. Let me talk to Arthur.” Then he leaned forward to look at Lia. “Love, can you draw a plan to build a township for the bear-shifters? Money, infrastructure and architecture.”

Lia smiled. “Of course, love, I will. But what will I get in return?”

Hawk’s gaze turned heated. “What do you want?”

“Ew. Ew!” Keya stopped them. “Please remember that your pup is sitting between you.”

However, Hawk ignored her. He got up and went to stand in front of Lia. He leaned down and placed a k*iss on her l*ips. He whispered, “Tonight, I am going to make this worthwhile.”

“Damn it!” Keya said. “You guys are obnoxious!” She went to stand in their middle. “The only love that you can show in public is the love to your pup!”

Hawk sighed and shook his head. “Come here, pup.” He pulled her and hugged her in a bone-crushing embrace. She squealed and they burst out laughing. Emcee called her and Hawk had to release her.

Keya adjusted her tiara and walked to the dais where she unfolded the paper. “Good morning, everyone,” she said in a dulcet voice. “In the round, the Alphas will be fighting against each other. They will be given their choice of weapon to fight with. They can choose not to pick up a weapon also.”

While she said those words aloud, a shudder ran down her body. This might turn gory. She whipped her head towards her father, her eyes wide in shock. But she was met with his cold expressions. There was complete silence in the arena as anticipation rose. How could her father announce such a gory contest? What would happen to Alpha Ranger? She was afraid for Ethan. Her attention turned back to the paper. She swallowed her saliva down her t*hroat and with her breath lodged in her t*hroat, she read further.

“The Alphas are supposed to fight until one of them is defeated. Each fight will have an elimination. The draw will be made out of hat as to who is going to fight first. At the end, the winner will get a chance to spend an evening with me.”

Keya closed her eyes. This was such a disaster. She didn’t want to spend her evenings with anyone else other than Alpha Ranger.

“Thank you,” she said in a shaky voice. “May the best win.” She returned to her seat. “This is the most ridiculous contest I’ve ever seen, daddy’’ she seethed. “How could you make it so gory? They will end up k*illing each other!” Hawk crossed his arms across his c*hest and didn’t answer her. He just continued to look at the cabin where all other Alphas were still sitting.

“Mom!” Keya rasped. “We must erase this contest! It is not justified!”

Lia pursed her l*ips, looking at Hawk. “Keya,” she said. “These Alphas were made to sign a document in which it was written that they might face such a situation. So they entered knowing it.”

“But-”

Her voice was cut off when the emcee announced, “We request all the particip*ants to come forward and also request one of the audiences to come and pick up the names from a hat.”

The Alphas emerged out of the cabin, all of them dressed impeccably. Keya’s eyes landed on Alpha Ranger who was standing in the middle. He was clearly the tallest and most handsome and muscular and… perfect. She wanted to continue staring at him, but her spirit was wavering. She no longer liked the contest. She wanted to take him away from this madness. Her heart squeezed with an ominous feeling.

When her eyes went to the other Alphas, she could see how strained they were. Tension was thick in the air. Ethan had clasped his h*ands in front of him, his jaws were clenched and he shot a glare at her full of loathe. She lowered her gaze and silently asked him to forgive her. “Daddy,” she said in a very low voice. “We still have the time. You can withdraw it.” Hawk remained quiet. It was like talking to a wall. She gritted her teeth and looked back at the Alphas.

A demure she-wolf had come to the stage to pick up the draws. She blushed when she looked at the Alphas and she blushed more when her eyes went to Alpha Ranger. Keya clutched the armrest of her chair t*ightly to stop herself from jumping on the stage and throttling her.

She picked up one chit and h*anded it to the emcee.

“Our first contestant is Alpha Mickey of the Gray Mount pack,” the emcee read as he announced.

The next chit was that of Alpha Jorr of the Crimson pack. So now the two Alphas had to fight it out. The winner would go to fight with the next Alpha whose name would be picked up once this fight was over.

“This is unfair,” Alpha Jorr growled.

Alpha Mickey smirked. “Are you afraid?”

“What?” Alpha Jorr flexed his muscles. “I am not afraid, but why do I have to win all the way up while others won’t fight as much as I do?”

Alpha Mickey scoffed. “You mean you will be able to win over me?”

Alpha Jorr growled. “You are mistaken, Alpha Mickey. Think with your head!”

“I would rather think with my muscles,” he shot back. He turned to leave. “See you in the arena!”

Alpha Jorr clenched his fists as he spared a glare at Alpha Hawk.

“I have a proposition,” Ethan interrupted.

The emcee was slightly perturbed as he snapped his face to Alpha Hawk and then back to Ethan. “Sure, what is it?”

“If Alpha Jorr likes it, I can take his place. I would like to go for the competition first,” Ethan offered. By saying so, he immediately became a hero in the eyes of the audience because now they thought that he was stepping in to save Alpha Jorr and at the same time he was eager to win. Little did they know that none of that was the case.

The emcee shifted on his feet as he peeked at Alpha Hawk, but his h*ard expressions were unreadable. He glanced at Alpha Jorr who had narrowed his eyes. Emcee was in a big soup. How could he decide for them?

“What do you mean by saying that, Ethan Torri?” Alpha Jorr growled. “Are you trying to tell the audience that I am incapable of fighting?”

Ethan shook his head. “No! Not at all. I am just offering that I go first. Maybe you are still making up your mind. It’s totally fine.”

Jorr took a menacing step towards him and when they were standing nose to nose, he said, “Bear pup, go wash your nappy. I can take care of this and don’t need your help!”

Furious as hell, Ethan roared. “How dare you? I was only trying to help-”

Jorr roared back. “And I said I don’t need it!” Before Ethan could say anything else, Jorr turned and left, his c*hest rising and falling in anger.

As soon as he left, the emcee visibly relaxed. He nodded at the girl to take out another chit. She picked it out of the hat and gave it to him. “The winner of the first match will fight Alpha Ranger.”

The girl picked up the next two chits, which were in the order of Beau and Ethan. So eventually the winner of all the matches was going to fight Ethan.

There was a huge applause in the stadium. Everyone started cheering and calling out the names of those who they wanted to win. Most of them wanted Alpha Ranger.

“The first fight begins in two hours from now. The weapons are on the rack inside the cages. Once they pick up the weapons, rest will be taken out,” the emcee clarified.

Keya returned back to her room, fuming and fretting. “This is not fair!” she spat, looking at Grisham. “Who the hell came up with the idea?”

“I came up with the idea,” Hunter said, walking in.

“Grandfather!” she rasped. “It is not-”

“It is what it is. Fresh violence has erupted in the north. It is on a low scale,” he added. He turned to Grisham. “We will be meeting Falcon in an hour from now. I want you to keep a watch over all the Alphas”

“I will, grandfather Grisham said with seriousness.

Keya’s eyebrows furrowed. There was something they weren’t telling her.
