The Alpha King’s Mistake by BlackFlame

Chapter 143 Harper Alizah Grace’s POV

My hands were bleeding because of the fight we started a few minutes ago. I admitted, I indeed underestimated her. I heard her said in her mind.

She underestimates me, like she always do. Keriza, you never learn your lesson. I shook my head and walk closer to her

“He gave you and your mother a chance to escape, to have a new life but you came back and cause harm,” She just smirked and slowly stand up.

“He ruined our life, like you did, Larkspur. You think you’re great because you set us up? No, you’re still the same pathetic tribrid who’s acting strong all the time.” Oh, really?

“I never said I’m strong, Keriza. It’s you who thinks I am. Insecurities blinded you, it’s not me whom you really hate, it’s yourself,” she stared at me, then a few seconds later, she burst into laughter.

“Still acting good? Come on, Harper. I know your hiding some hatred towards me, why you’re still pretending as if you’re not angry at me?” I nodded, she’s right. I’m angry at her, for what she and her family did. “You’re away that your no match go to me right?” She just grin. “You still haven’t saw the real me, how can you say that?” What does she mean?

She closed her eyes, I just watched her intently. Slowly, her appearance started to change. Her aura changes also, it became darker and strong. She’s transforming into her true form, an hybrid. Werewolf and witch.

I don’t know how everything became like this, but we go back where it started.

We prepared everything we needed to prepare. Two days after my birthday, Zach told me about his plan, and I agree with it.

A day after my birthday, We announced to everyone that the two of us It’s getting married soon enough. That was just for a show, to set them in a trap.

But we are planning to have real wedding after the possible war that will going to happen if they attacked us.

Even before, I already know that they were creating an army of rouge against us. Killing her father won’t stop them for achieving their goal.

I just looks straight while walking down the Isle. I know any moment by now they will going to attack because some of them entered the palace now. They were just around, finding a right timing to attack.

I let my guard up, I silently observed the surrounding while walking. Since this is just a trap, not a real wedding, the girls and children wasn’t here, it’s too dangerous for them.

If possible, I wanted to end this without hurting anyone but if they will trigger me, then I’m sorry to say, I won’t give up without fighting. While walking, how I wish this one is real, but it’s not. A smile formed into my l*ips when I remember we are going to get marry after this anyway.

I shook my head and set aside that idea in my mind for the mean time. Just focused Harper, focus. I reminded myself.

A few seconds later, what I expecting happened. An arrow flew towards my direction, luckily, I prepared enough to dodge it on time. They were here now, a loud noise coming behind bloomed.

“Well, well, look who’s getting marry now,” I heard Keriza’s c*oc*ky voice. As what I expected, she’s wearing black dress, my brow furrowed.

“Keriza…” She smiles widely. “Surprise. Do you all really think it’s enough to kick us away the kingdom? No, we won’t let anyone humiliate us like that.” Clearly. I took a deep breath, I saw Zach went closer to me.

“Something wasn’t right, her mother wasn’t here. I’ll go and find her, I’ll leave her with you,” he whispered. I nodded, “Alright, I’ll take care of her.” As I said that, In just a blink of an eye, he vanished.

“Oh, did we mess up your plan. We know this is just a trap, but luckily were smart enough to think another way to have our revenge.” She said as she slowly approached me. Half of the warriors inside stop her but the other half stopped the warriors from attacking her.

I see, “Do you think you can get away from me, Harper? You just killed my dad, I will never spare you, even if you’ll beg.” How amusing is that. Is that how high she thinks to herself?

“Who said I’ll beg?” I asked her back. She just grinned, “I’m amaze in how you manage to look calm at this moment.” I’m amaze too on how she looks so very calm at this moment. She already knew what I am, and yet, she’s here, threatening my life.

“Stop talking too much, Keriza. I’ll allow you to kill me, if you can.” Her brow furrowed because of what I said. What does it anger her? “You’re too full to yourself, are you telling me that all I can do is to talk?” I shrugged my shoulder.

“You’re the one who said that, not me.” I saw how she closed her palm tightly. Did I anger her? I’m just saying what I know.

She throw a dagger in my direction but I just dodge it easily. She looks like a child who’s throwing a tantrum now.

“Seriously, Keriza. If possible, I wanted you and your mother just to surrender. I don’t want to hurt you or anyone else in this room,” instead of convincing her, she became more angry and started to attack me.

She created a force trapping us inside, “This is just between me and her, no one should interfere.” No one should.

She throws another dagger while running fast to hurt me. I dodge her moves since I predicted it already. Isn’t she aware that a simple thing can’t hurt me?

And that how started the mess. Her appearance completely changed now, is this the reason why she’s confident that she can kill me. I can’t just underestimate her now, I can see that she’s hiding a true power that she will just going to show now.

My brow furrowed when she created a barrier separating us from others. She really wanted to kill with her own hands, huh.

A dark force slowly formed in her l*ips, she posses dark power, a black magic. This is really serious. I prepared myself on what will going to happen.

In just a few seconds, she release those black energy out towards my direction. Using my elemental power, I created an invisible shield. That’s all I can do for the mean time.

I will let her show what she can do, observe her strengths and weaknesses before making an action.

“Is that what you can do? Harper? Block my attack? Haha, you’re really pathetic. I’m starting to doubt if you’re really a tribrid. The tribrid we know can destroy nor maintain peace in this world, but you? You’re a piece of s*hit, you’re weak!” Why she’s talking too much? Does she think her words will affect me? No, it won’t affect me because I know what true and not.

“I’m still giving you a chance to back out, Keriza. One last chance, don’t just ignore it.” She laughed hard on what I said.

“I never got any chance, Harper. The chance you were giving me is nothing. What my life will he without him? I might be free but useless,” Is she telling me that I should give him to her. She must be joking.

I shook my head and laugh out of amusement. “You got it really bad, I can’t change your mind then. So don’t blame me for doing this,” My eyes turned crimson. I’m letting Venice to take over. Using my vampire speed, in just a blink of an eye I reached her back. A grinned formed into my l*ips, “Over here.” I throw her a punch. That might be hurt, knowing how grumpy my demon is.

She flew away from the punch I gave, I’m not satisfied yet. I teleported in front of her and gave her a kick on her tummy even if she still haven’t recover in my first attack. I saw how shock she is.

I’m not even using my power against her, only my physical strength. Where did she get the idea that she can kill me? Her mother? They were delusional.

They can kill me now if I’m not in good shape, if I’m broken but I’m happy now, which causing me to be more powerful.

“You can choose to surrender or fight till death,” I gave her a choice. She slowly get up from the floor and wipe the blood on her l*ips. “We’re not done yet, you’re speaking to me like I surrender already. Do you think I’m giving up? Not to you, I’ll do anything to avenge my father. You killed him mercilessly, mom and I will kill you too!” from all the things she have been said, this is the funniest one.

I walk closer to her, “Do you think your mother cares about your father? You don’t know your mother truly aren’t you? Or you’re just pretending that you doesn’t know?”

It’s just rare for a witch to love someone truly, because we all know, a witch doesn’t have a mate. She can love nor hurt who ever she wanted.

“Your mother doesn’t give any s*hit about your father’s death, because he’s nothing to her. She’s just with him because he raped her twenty eight years ago,” she step back, and covered her ears.

“Your mother only want power, to have her revenge on werewolves. I bet you already know about that matters right?” she sat down on the floor, I guess she knew.

“Shut up! You don’t know anything!” She started to scream. Does it hurt to hear the truth? Well truth hurts they say.

“Actually I know everything. You’re mother is the reason why you became like this. She created you, she created the worst version of you because she hated you.” She glared at me.

“Shut up! You don’t know anything about us! You kill my father, made my mother angry at me because I failed! You made me a failure. It’s all your fault, you destroy my life!”

Wow, how dare she to blame all of that. Her life is not mine, she’s the only one who can control it. Not me, not her father or mother. And now, she’s blaming me? Her guts.

“It’s you who destroyed your life, Keriza. Not me, it will never be me. I just stopped your evil deeds, that’s all I did.” She sarcastically laughed.

“Stop my evil deeds, you sound so kind, like an angel. You will never see the back story isn’t it? Since the day you came into his life, he forgot about me.” I shook my head.

“No, he doesn’t. It’s our destiny to meet because we’re mates.” She shake her head and laugh.

“Yeah, how can I be so silly. You two were mates, and I’m just a piece of his past. He loved me first,” I can hear pain in her voice.

“No, it’s me whom he loveed first.” I corrected her. She just look down, “And yes. You should accept the fact that you’re just a piece of his past, Keriza.”

“I know, you shouldn’t repeat it. And you were right, I grow under my mother’s hate. She hated me since the day I was born, how funny to think that I just realized it all now,” Well, it’s not too late to realize.

She slowly went back to her normal state. She’s crying now, maybe she really realized all the things she have done.

“I never feel to be love just like the way he did before. I’m just so dumb that I cheated on him. I hurt him,” I let out a sigh.

“Be glad, he once loved you. Made you feel special. Whatever his decision now, you should just respect it.” I told her. She looks at me, “Is that how love is?” I nodded.

“Yes, it is. If you love that person, you are also willing to let him or her go in the right time. When he’s not into you anymore, you need to make some sacrifices.”

“You love him that much, don’t you?” I nodded once again. “Yes, that’s why I can’t just let him go.” She nodded and sob.

“I realized how pathetic I am right now. I just wanted to be love, the love even my own mother can’t give me.” I’m so sorry for her. She wasn’t bad, life made her whoever she is right now.

I help her to stand up, “It’s not too late to start over again, Keriza. I know, someday, you will find the love you wanted.”

She smiled, “I hope so, but I’ll just find that if you’re out of my way,” She was about to stabbed me but stopped her hand on time. I was expecting that already, a man with hatred won’t change it’s mind easily. She’ll just pulling that trick on me to lower down my guard. But, what I told her were true. It’s not too late for her to change, but she made up her mind now, and no one can change it anymore, not even herself.

I look directly in her eyes, taking control of her body. She dropped the dagger on the group.

“What are you doing?” She panic. I didn’t talk, instead, I paralyzed her body instead. She kneel down on the floor, unable to talk nor move. “That’s it, you lose your last chance. I hope you will find peace in hell,” as I said that, I casted a deadly spell, getting all of her power and draining her energy.

She wanted to scream, but she can’t. Pain was evident in her face while she’s suffering. I don’t want to do that, but she gave me no choice. The barrier around us drop as soon she looses her last breath. A sigh escaped from my l*ips, it wasn’t over yet. I look around the whole place, it’s messy and full with blood. This is war, we lose warriors in our side.

I still have one person left to face, it’s Keriza’s mother. The master mind behind this chaos. I asked my mate if he found her but he replied no, so I went out to see where is she. I know that she feel her daughter wasn’t alive anymore, she might be mad now or maybe not.
