The Alpha King’s Mistake by BlackFlame

Chapter 153 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)

“Our baby,” If something terrible happens to our child. I will never forgive him. My stomach keeps hurting. I feel like I can’t breathe out of the pain.

I held him tightly while crying. “Please save my child, do something,” I begged. Tears keep on falling. He was panicking now to see our situation.

My aunt’s worried face rushed toward our place and took me in his hand, “Give her to me now, Zachary!” She yelled.

He didn’t want to let me go, but he had no choice but to give me to my aunt. I’m getting weak, and my vision is getting blurry. I felt like I’m going to pass out anytime soon. “Please do anything to save our child,” I heard him plead. My aunt looked at him and nodded, “I will. I gave you two choices, leave now or never see her again,” I held on to my aunt’s arm and forced myself to look up.

She looked at me worried, and panic could be seen in her eyes. “I can’t choose either of them,” my aunt glared at him.

“You don’t understand it, don’t you? If you insist on staying, you will end up hurting them. You’re not helping now, Zachary.”

“But…”

“If you leave now, you can see her again. But if you stay, you’ll never see them again. Mark my word,” she said firmly.

I heard him sigh, “Okay. Harper, I’m sorry, love. I will make it up to you,” he said sadly. He was about to t*ouch me, but my aunt didn’t let him.

“Leave.”

“All right, but I will come back to see you again,” or you better not. I bit my inner l*ips. He caused me too much pain. I sob in tears. I tugged my arm’s dress and signed her to take me away.

“Sure, honey. Take a deep breath. It would be best if you calmed down now,” I followed what she said, but a few seconds later. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach again, causing me to groan.

“I can’t take it anymore. Please do everything to save my child, Aunt,” I cried. There’s much blood coming out of my private part. And after that, I slowly lose consciousness. I don’t know what happened next.

When I woke up, I felt nothing. I looked around the whole place. I was lying on my bed and didn’t see anyone around. What happened? I blinked twice.

Panic started to kick in my system when the thought of losing my child sank into my mind. I started to scream and t*ouched my stomach. I can’t feel anything. I can’t feel my child!

I cried hard. Someone opened the door and rushed in my direction. “My child! Tell me, my child’s okay!” Everyone avoided my eyes. That’s when I cried even more; no, this is a nightmare. I continued to cry while covering my face.

“Please tell me,” I sobbed hard. “I’m so sorry, Harper, but…” Lisa started to say, but I glared at her. “No, you’re just lying. My child is not dead. It can’t be,” she bit her lower l*ips and started to cry too.

I shook my head. They were lying, don’t they? I looked at my aunt, begging. She shook her head, “We’re so sorry, honey. But your child didn’t make it,” I was dumbfounded by what I heard. “How?” I questioned weakly. “I thought everything would be fine…” They all looked down. I bit my inner l*ips and closed my eyes.

“Where is she? I need to see her. Is our child okay?” I heard his voice outside this room. I look up with pain in my eyes.

“Please leave and let him in,” I told them emotionlessly.

“Are you sure?” She asked. I nodded my head. This will be the last time I talk to him. All of them left me alone, and that’s when he entered.

I saw guilt, pain, and sadness in his eyes. He probably knew what had happened. “Harper,” He called my name slowly as he approached me. I just looked at him coldly.

“I’m sorry—” He was about to apologize, but I cut him off. “Are you happy now? You completely ruined my life,” He closed his l*ips tightly.

I took a deep breath and sat on my bed, “Our child is dead, but I can’t blame you alone for that,” I said. “No, it’s all my fault. Please, forgive me. It’s so painful for me to know our child is gone—” I cut him off again.

“Maybe. Maybe it’s hard for you too, but it’s much harder on my part. You never really care, Zach. You only care for yourself—” This time, he’s the one who stopped me. “No, you’re wrong. I care about you. I love you, Harper, and you know that,” I shook my head and laughed sarcastically.

“Yes, you love how you hurt me,” He shook his head again. He wanted to hold my hand, but I avoided it. “I’m sorry to tell you this, Zach. But… this is not working.”

“No, we can make it work. Just give me one more chance to make up for my mistake,” he begged. “You’re always telling me that. But look where we are right now. You will apologize, then what? You will hurt me again. Is that how you make up for mistakes, your majesty? You’re not a man of your word,” I couldn’t help but say that. “Harper…” I coldly look at him. “Even if you will apologize a million times, what is done is done. Our child is gone. And do you know what that means? We failed to keep our promises.”

He looked down again, and slowly, he kneeled in front of me, “I’m begging you, please, don’t leave me. I need you,” he pleaded. I saw how tears fell from his eyes.

“Don’t do this to me, love. I can’t leave without you,” I looked at him. This is ridiculous. “You made me do this, Zach. So, there’s no use in begging now.” He took my hand, brought them to his l*ips, and k*issed them. He was begging on his knees now.

“Please, don’t leave me. There are many things I wanted to tell you. All I wanted you to do was to listen. Please, love,” I shook my head and took my hands away in his hands. “I’m sorry, but I can’t. I felt hurt so much, Zach. You can’t go hear and expect me to listen,” I told him seriously.

“I know, but I’m hoping,” I laughed in disbelief. “I’m sorry, but not sorry. But I’ll crash that little hope in you now. You’re my husband, but I won’t come and live with you after what happened.” His eyes widened.

“Harper,” I shook my head. “This is over. I’m so angry, Zachary. Our child is gone. I can’t let you hurt me again. Please leave; I forbid you from seeing me again. Live with our own life,” After I said that, I stood up and turned my back on him.

But before I could leave, he captured me and hugged me from my back. “If you leave me, I’ll die.” I removed his hand from my waist and faced him.

“Then die.”
