The Alpha King’s Mistake by BlackFlame
Chapter 155 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)
I teleported in front of him. He was slightly surprised by my sudden appearance. I bit my bottom l*ip while still looking at him.
His l*ips are pale, and he is getting weak. But he is doing everything to hide that. Even how hard he tries to act like a tough man, he’s not a good liar. I sighed, “Get up.”
Even though he was weak, a smile appeared on his l*ips. “They forbid me to see you,” he murmured. Are we going to have some drama here?
“I can’t bear being unable to see, t*ouch, and hug you. I already have many sins on you. I don’t want to add more,” he continued.

He looked straight into my eyes. “Tell me. Tell me what I was afraid of didn’t happen,” I just stared at him. I don’t even know what to say. “Tell me our child is not dead,” he asked imploringly.
I sighed again, “Stand up. Let’s talk inside,” I said seriously. He looked up at me. Hope can be seen in his eyes.
He stood up slowly. He did something I didn’t expect. After he stood up, he grabbed me into a tight hug.
“Forgive me, my love. Forgive me for everything I’ve done,” I was surprised by what happened, but I hugged him back. I proved to myself that I would always return to him no matter what I did. The problem may be not our situation but me.
I’m the one who’s hard to understand. I’m the one who is hard to trust. Maybe, I’m the selfish
one. I only think about my safety. I’m selfish of my happiness because I’ve hurt someone else. “Our son is alive,” I whispered in his ear. He immediately let go of the hug and looked at me. There were tears in his eyes. I realised that if something terrible happens to our child that day, it’s not only his fault but mine.
“Really?” she asked tearfully. I nodded slowly. I held both of his cheeks and wiped his tears. “Good to know,” he murmured.
He hugged me again. He buried his head on my neck and stroked my hair. We stayed in that position until I felt his breathing slow down.
I frowned. I broke the hug and looked at him. I slightly panicked when I realised he was about to pass out. I patted his face gently to wake him up. “Zach! Wake up!”
His body is getting heavier. He was about to fall to the ground, but I held him tightly. My eyes widened. I quickly looked around. I saw that Lisa was also looking at us in surprise. “Lisa, help me!” she run in our direction.
Her eyes widened even more, “Harper, look at your hands!” I immediately followed what he said and was stunned by what I saw. I… I saw blood.
I t*ouched his back again. That’s when I realised he had a wound, and it was still bleeding. I looked at Lisa again, “Call a healer and bring her to my room immediately,” I said. When she nodded, I teleported with him.
“He is in good condition now. He will wake up later or tomorrow,” the healer informed me. I sighed, “Why did he faint?” Lisa asked, so I looked at her and then at the healer again.
He was silent for a few seconds before answering. “Because of his wounds and blood loss. Aside from that, I saw something strange draining his power,” I frowned.
Something strange draining his power? What is that?
“I’m not sure, but… It’s like someone is controlling him. Like he’s possessed,” he continued. Is she controlling him like before? Could it be that Kesha hasn’t lost control of him yet?
“Is there a way to get rid of it?” I asked her seriously.
She looked at me, worried. “There is. But it’s hard. There’s only one way to get rid of it. Kill the person who controls him,” that’s what I was thinking too.
“Okay, that’s all I need to hear. Thank you, you can leave now,” he nodded and bowed. After she left, the door opened again. Aunty came in. She was with someone. It’s my brother and his wife.
His wife came to hug me tight, “Hi,” she greeted softly. I smile, “Hey.” She tapped my shoulder and let go of the hug.
My brother came to me and hugged me too. “How are you?” He asked me. I hugged him back. I feel sad for him. Our mother died, but he wasn’t there to say goodbye. “I’d be lying if I said I was fine,” he chuckled and ruffled my hair. “The same Harper I know. Can I talk to you?” he asked. I pulled away from the hug, “About what?”
“Alone,” I nodded. We both left the room and went to a terrace. The sky is clear, but my heart is sorrowful.
“Things are happening too fast, aren’t they?” I only answered with a nod while still looking at the sky. Yes, things are happening so fast in the way that I’m having a hard time keeping up.
I looked at him. I wanted to ask something. “Are you angry that our mother died?” His l*ips formed into a tight line, and he sighed.
“I’d be lying if I said no,” he replied with a slight laugh. I just looked at him. I see how much he loves our mother even though she abandoned us as a child.
“But I was expecting that,” I looked at him again. What does he mean? “Our mother came to see me a few days before she died. She told me she could see her death,” he said, sighing sadly.
He looked at me, “I thought she was just joking, but look what happened. She saw her destiny,” I shut my mouth close.
“I didn’t tell you about that because I know you’re pregnant, and you’re not allowed to overthink. Our mother’s feels sorry because she can’t be with us anymore. She won’t even see her grandchildren with us,” he paused and avoided looking. There were tears in his eyes.
“Brother…” He shook his head.
“She’s sorry, but she said she needs it. She needs to say goodbye,” I just bit my bottom l*ips. Unable to say something.
“She said she’ll be happy wherever she is now.”
