The Alpha King’s Mistake by BlackFlame
Chapter 157 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)
“You know, you don’t have to join the war. It’s dangerous for you and your child,” Lisa told me worriedly. I stopped putting my armor on and looked at her. I need to be there. “I know you’re worried, Lisa, but think about this. This war will never end if I do nothing to stop it. Kesha is mad, yes, especially to my family,” she let out a sigh and sat down on the edge of my bed. “But…” I shook my head and resumed what I was doing. “No one can change my mind now. Not even myself. This battle is between me and Kesha.”
I heard her sigh again, “What if they will use Zachary? What will you do?” A simple question made me wonder. She’s right; there is a big possibility that Zach is in their hand. Maybe, they brainwashed him again to hurt me or kill me. “If that happens, I’ll take care of it,” I replied and stood up. I looked at myself in the mirror. I slowly caressed my tummy. I will win this war for you, my child. I will do everything to give you a peaceful life.
“I guess no one can change your mind then. If so, I’ll keep my eyes on you,” I looked at her. I know she will. I smiled and walked in her direction, tapping her shoulder. “You’re a great cousin, Lisa,” She smiled widely. “You’re the most incredible woman I’ve ever known, Harper.” That makes me smile even wider.
“You’re flattering me again, Lisa.

Anyway, let’s go?” she chuckled and stood up from my bed.
“Yes, my mother and the army are ready. We are heading to the war site now,” I nodded.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. May the moon goddess guide us? Let us defeat the darkness.
We went outside my room and approached the army outside. I saw Aunt Louisa looking at me worriedly. Maybe, she’s thinking of me not joining the war too. I can blame them for thinking that way because they were just worried. But, just like I said earlier. I need to do this.
She wanted to say something but chose to remain silent. She nodded her head, and I nodded mine. I saw my brother beside her. His wife is nowhere to be seen. Maybe he forbade her to come.
When he saw me, he went closer. “I know you already made up your mind, and I can’t do anything about it. Please, harper, stay safe,” I nodded and hugged him.
“Yes, I will, brother.” He nodded and tapped my back. “Good to hear,” He said and let me go.
“You too, please be safe and stay alive. If you die, I’ll kill you again,” He messed up my hair and laughed softly.
“As expected from you, sister. Anyway, are you really sure about this?”
“Yes. Kesha won’t stop now, isn’t she? I know that I’m the only one who can stop her.”
“All right. Shall we go then?” I nodded. A few hours from now, the real war will officially start.
When we reached the battlefield, it was oddly silent. There’s something wrong with it. I looked around the whole place. No one was around except those lifeless bodies scattered on the ground.
This place is a living nightmare. Those wizards and witches were brutally killed.
“Well, well, well. My dear sister is here now with her army,” We all looked over the place where that voice came from.
One word came out to our l*ips, “Kesha.”
There was a big grin on her l*ips.
Her appearance has changed; she didn’t look like this when I last saw her.
“I appreciate you coming with your…” she stopped talking and looked at me, “Niece.”
She smiled again and laughed lightly, “Anyway, did you like my little gift?” She said with a smirk as she pointed the corpses around.
We all looked at her seriously. She will never act like that if she’s alone. I’m sure the enemies surrounded us.
“Oh. Why are all of you looking at me like that? I’m so delighted to see you all again. Do you miss me, especially you? Sister,” Kesha said sarcastically. Aunt Louisa closed her eyes and calmed herself down. “It’s just a pity that Selena is gone. I can’t talk to or hug her again,” She even faked tears. I bit my inner l*ips. She is the most fake person I ever met.
“Don’t you dare to call our mother by her name? You don’t deserve it!” My brother angrily yelled.
Kesha looked at him and gasped. She’s acting as if my brother’s words hurt her.
“Is that how you treat your aunt, Troy?”
“You will never be my aunt. You’re not even related to me,” he replied emphatically. Kesha gasped again, but then later, she laughed.
“Oh yeah. I’m not related to all of you. Especially you, Harper,” since when have I treated her like one? I just rolled my eyes at her.
“Did you roll your eyes on me, sweetie?” I grinned. “Yes, is there something wrong with that,
Kesha?” Her face became serious. “There is. No one ever rolls her eyes at me. Do you want me to steal your eyes?” Oh, that one gesture of mine is enough to trigger her. You’re no fun, Kesha.
“You can if you can get it,” she glared at me.
“You got your mother’s attitude,” I smirked widely. “Of course, she’s my mother. Who should I inherit from? Yours? No. My mother is not perfect, but she is a good mother. She admitted her fault and changed herself for us. How about you? When will you change?” She shut her mouth close. Did I hit a nerve?
A few seconds later, she looked up confidently and smirked. “If I were Selena. I will do the same. I’ll abandon you. You don’t deserve the life you have right now, Harper. If I didn’t sacrifice before, you wouldn’t be here today,” I raised an eyebrow. Really, Kesha?
I took a step forward, “Sadly, you are not her. And you can even accept the fact that my father chose my mother instead of you.” “Isn’t that sadder, Kesha?” I saw how her fist turned white. “Do you think you can hurt me with those words?”
“Why aren’t you hurt? Come on, Kesha. Whatever you do, whoever you kill. The fact that you are a loser who cannot move on and accept your past will not change.”
I’m not trying to trigger her or something. I was just stating the fact.
“Stop it, Harper. She’s burning in anger now,” Lisa whispered as she tugged my shirt down. I looked at her and shook my head, “She triggers me first.”
