Chapter 100 (Priscilla)
“YOUR MAJESTY, you have to fix yourself and change your clothes. The ritual will begin an hour from now.”
“No, I’m staying with my daughter, Axel. If this is the last time that I will get to hold her h*and, then I will hold it as many times as possible now. Who gives a damn about my clothes? About my messy self? I just lost my daughter!”
I opened my eyes when I heard dad growl to his right h*and man. I found myself lying on a bed filled with white roses. I was overwhelmed with relief.
Dad was sitting beside me on the bed and holding my h*and.

I… was alive. I couldn’t believe I made it.
A smile spread across my face. “Dad?”
My happiness was brief when dad just kept staring at my face, looking crestfallen.
“Dad! Why aren’t you saying something?”
I tried to hold him but my smile vanished when my h*ands just passed through him. I did it again and again but I couldn’t… t*ouch him no matter what I did.
And he couldn’t hear my voice no matter how I screamed.
Panic started flooding in my c*hest.
I immediately got up and saw myself lying there. I was dressed in the most beautiful white gown I’d ever seen. But the effect of Trent’s spell was still chaining me and my wolf down, blocking my mana, and stopping our every attempt to breakfree.
My wolf was still weary. I was losing my mana. And my energy was depleting.
I needed to escape the shackles which only I could see since none of the mages here were reacting to them. But the tricky spell came from Trent who was twice as powerful as me. It was meant to deceive everyone because this was what he loved the most. Seeing and hearing people weep.
I tried entering my own b*ody but Trent’s spell kept pushing me out.
“Damn it!”
Dad’s voice cracked when he uttered, “I already lost your mother, princess. Why did I have to lose you as well? I’m starting to think that you and your mother didn’t want to be with me. Why do I keep losing you both?”
I felt the heaviness in his words.
“No, dad. That’s not true,” I said while shaking my head. “I want to be with you. I’m sorry that you are like this because of me. But please stop the ritual, dad. I will find a way to come back so please… hear my voice and tell them to stop it!”
When I looked around, I saw the servants kneeling with tears in their eyes as if they were paying their respects to me. They were all wearing white.
When I couldn’t take the sight anymore, I ran away and screamed once more, hoping that somebody out there could hear my voice but no one has been responding.
I clenched my h*ands. At this rate, I might really die.
My wolf was severely injured. She was barely holding out.
Once they start the ritual and burn my b*ody, I would have nowhere to return to.
I saw Zephyr by the pool area, submerging himself underwater. When he opened his eyes, he looked lifeless. And in the hallway, I witnessed Zane punching the wall.
I called them but again, no one was responding to my call.
“What do you think will happen to the alpha king now? Do you think he will be imprisoned for a long time?”
I stopped running frantically as soon as I heard that from one of the guards.
Trevor was imprisoned?
I ran to the closest detention center. There were white ribbons in every street. The whole kingdom was grieving again.
But I didn’t have time to keep looking.
I passed through every cell.
Until I finally found him, the first man who taught me how to treat myself kindly, the man who saw my wounds and treated each of them with his gentle h*ands, the man whose smiles were reserved only for me. The tears that I’d been holding back rolled down my cheeks when I saw his expression.
Trevor was sitting on the ground and was leaning on the wall, looking like the world had ended for him. I’d never seen him like this before.
“Trev…” I whispered as I tried to caress his cheeks. My l*ips parted when I realized that I could actually t*ouch him. But it seemed like he couldn’t feel my t*ouch and
he couldn’t hear my voice. “I’m right here, love.” I held his h*ands and k*issed them. “I’m so sorry.”
Trevor suddenly opened his eyes and straightened his back. He looked around his cell. “You are here, love, aren’t you? They are all crazy. You weren’t really gone. You are here. In this room. With me.”
The anguish in his eyes hit me in waves.
Even if I knew that he could not see me, I still nodded. My f*ingers glide in his hair. “That’s right, Trev.” My voice cracked. “I’m with you. I think the reason why I
made it this far is because deep down, I couldn’t leave you. And my wolf knew that. That’s why she’s still fighting for us.”
“Talk to me, love. I want to hear your voice. Hold me. I want to feel your t*ouch. I want to know that I’m not going crazy yet. That this isn’t all in my head. I want to
bask in your warmth. In your t*ouch. Please tell me that I didn’t lose you. Tell me that we still have a chance.”
Trevor’s voice was racked with emotion as he pleaded.
Our t*ouch could pacify each other and right now, there was nothing I’d want more than to make him feel my t*ouch once again.
My shoulders shook as I stroked his face. “You and I will always have a chance. I’m still holding on, love. I don’t know how or why but I will do something, I promise.” I k*issed his forehead. “I will come back to you.”
“I only know about love because you exist. I only learned about pain when you left me. I only understood death when I saw you close your eyes and breathe your last. The things I know, learned, and understood were all because of you, Priscilla Blanche.”
I felt myself crumbling from his words.
He held my recorder close to his c*hest. “Come home, love.” He closed his eyes. “Come home to me please. I don’t know how to exist without you.”
When I saw a tear slide down his cheek, I wavered. I could feel my mana slipping away. My wolf had fallen down. I dropped my knees on the ground as fear and desperation struck my heart.
I hugged Trevor, looked out the window, and cried when I saw the full moon.
I closed my eyes and uttered the ancient spell that I read from the journal my mother had left me. I’d tried the spell many times when I attempted crossing the border.
But I’d been failing.
I wasn’t heard.
When I saw my wolf close her eyes and felt how Trevor surrendered as if he didn’t want to live anymore, the veins in my n*eck popped out. I held him t*ighter in my arms as I screamed one last time.
“Mom! Goddess! I beg you! Please hear me out! Please lend me your strength!”

THE MINISTER rose from his seat, a sign that the ritual was about to commence but I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t let my daughter’s h*and go. It seemed so wrong, like I was about to make the biggest mistake of my life.
The lords cleared their throats. “Your Majesty, we must begin the ritual so we could properly send Her Highness to-”
“No!”
Everyone’s l*ips parted when we heard a scream. My c*hest pounded when I recognized the voice.
It was from my daughter.
She sounded like she was in extreme pain. But in the middle of the pain, I heard something else in her voice.
Determination.
What was happening? I was holding her h*and and yet, it didn’t seem like the sound was coming from the b*ody beside me but from somewhere else.
The door opened. No one entered the hall but all of us could feel it. There was someone here with us. It was a very familiar presence.
The soft wind blew and I inhaled my daughter’s scent. When I gazed at the windows, the moon had become red. The white roses surrounding her bed had turned red as well.
The royal mage stood up. Disbelief was written in his eyes when he exclaimed, “Her Highness is harnessing the power of the moon! I had only heard this once. I’ve always known that the descendant of the moon goddess is strong but I didn’t know she would be this strong! This spell is the h*ardest to conjure!”
Suddenly, there were butterflies everywhere. I could feel the mana flowing around us. I could see them in different colors. And then I heard the wolves. I was sure that the sound was coming from the shifter’s realm but I could hear them from here.
When they roared, I felt Priscilla’s h*and move.
The mana flowed around her, slowly bringing back the color in her face. There were little flowers blooming around her silver hair, forming a beautiful crown.
And when finally, my daughter opened her eyes, everyone kneeled.
Our gazes locked and tears glazed her green eyes. In a hoarse voice, she asked, “Dad… can you now see me?”
My knees weakened. I pulled her up and brought her to my arms. “I’m not dreaming, am I? This is real. You are here. You are back.” When she returned my embrace and I felt her warmth, emotion clogged my throat. “Thank you for coming back to me, princess.”
“I heard what you said earlier and you were wrong, dad. I want to keep staying with you. And I’m sure that if mom had a choice, she would be here with us as well.”
“Your Majesty, I have an urgent report to make. Trevor heard about the funeral ritual and he seemed to have lost it. He had sent all the guards away and started becoming ferocious again-”Zane had stopped reporting when he saw my daughter. His eyes widened.
He ran to our side; his knuckles were bleeding. “Princess…”
Priscilla smiled. Zane was about to bend his knee but she shook her head. She ripped the hem of her gown and wrapped his knuckles with the fabric.
“Don’t hurt yourself ever again because of me, Zane, or else I won’t forgive you.” Before any of us could answer, she turned to me and said, “I know that there are so many things that we need to talk about but right now, I need to go, dad”
And then she disappeared.
But I couldn’t just let my daughter escape from my sight again. I knew exactly where she would go and what she would do. When I appeared in front of the detention area, the guards were running away and the place was burning. The red fire was too high as if the man inside had no d*esire left to live. Even the mages could not stop the fire.
After everything Trevor had done for my daughter, I want to save him, especially from himself. I really do. But not like this. Not at the expense of my own daughter.
Fear rose in my c*hest when I saw that Priscilla was about to run inside. How could she go straight there so fearlessly? I was not even sure if she had fully recovered yet! Before she could step inside, I appeared beside her and grabbed her arm.
“Trevor is a lost man, Priscilla. We can’t do anything about this anymore. You’ve just returned! If you go inside, I might lose you for good-”
“Dad, as long as Trevor and I are together, we will never be lost.” Her eyes shone with so much faith and love that my throat constricted. I’d seen that glow once in her mother’s eyes. “We will always find a way.” She removed my h*and gently. “I’m sorry, dad. But I have to go now and get my man back.”
Before I could say anything, my daughter was already running inside.
My knees trembled when the detention area exploded seconds after she got there. The impact had made the rest of the guards and mages fly miles away.
And then there was a long silence.
“Priscilla!” I screamed.
Just when I thought that I had lost her for good, the fire stopped. All of us witnessed another miracle. From the debris, flowers started to bloom.
And then we saw them.
Trevor and Priscilla were standing in the middle of the chaos.
They were embracing each other.
My daughter’s light was shining brightly through Trevor’s. They looked like the epitome of light and darkness. But the way I see it, she needed his darkness just as much as he craved her light.
Because no matter how much I hate to admit it, they complete each other.
They seemed to… exist solely for each other.
I should know. I was once like that with my mate.
The council came to me but before they could open their m*ouths to object, I raised my h*and. “Save it. Tell me, my lords. Have you ever stopped the sun from shining? Or the moon from appearing? Those two are like that. They conquered blood and death for each other. A love like that cannot be stopped.”
