The Alpha’s Exclusive Stripper by Selena Madrid
Chapter 97
I TRIED holding the door despite the thorns from the roses that pierced my skin. Blood trickled from my h*ands and it seemed to excite Trent more. His manic eyes were glowing as he watched the blood drip down the floor of the cage.
How was he able to hide this side of him from me and Addison for a long time?
He caressed my hair through the cage. I staggered when I saw the bulge in his p*ants. Did he seriously get h*ard from seeing me hurt myself?
“Had I known about you earlier, I would have taken you sooner. But your mother was smart. She realized too soon that the real Luciano had died, that I was only pretending to be him. Fortunately, I was able to inject her with the poison before she managed to get away from me. She was strong, she had my respect for

that.” He nodded as if he was talking to himself. “She was still able to give birth to you although she could no longer teleport at that time. It must have been a very painful delivery. Too bad I was not there to see it, to hear her screams. That would have been music to my ears.”
“Why are you like that? Did you hate my mother that much?”
“Hate?” Trent repeated, he pulled my hair like that word had offended him. “No! I loved your mother! I loved her more than your father ever did! She was my muse! She had awakened the artist in me. Because of Calliope, I started creating cages so that I could keep her there. So that only I could see her and t*ouch her.”
“That’s not love, Trent! That’s obsession!”
“How dare you ridicule the love I have for my mate?” he roared and pulled my face closer to the door, the thorns made my cheek bleed. He stopped for a moment; his anger seemed to have dissipated upon seeing the blood.
“You are my mother’s mate? The mage others talked about? I thought you… died?”
“That’s what your father thought. He must be going crazy now after realizing that you are gone. He underestimated me and overestimated himself too much. The king of the mages does not die easily. Had I found you earlier, I would have brought you to my kingdom. You would have been happy there.”
He dipped his f*inger onto the blood on my cheek. He l*icked his f*inger and hummed upon tasting my blood.
A shiver rolled down my spine. Trent was the ruler of his kingdom?
“Your mother chose someone else. She hated me. She had failed to understand the depth of my love for her. I loved her so much that I craved not only her smiles and laughter but also her tears and screams. I loved it when she screamed. Even more so when she cried.”
Anger flashed in my eyes but I bit my lower l*ip to stop myself from saying another word. Trent was a psychopath. And people like them never listened to reasons.
Besides, I needed to hear the full story.
Trent seemed to have appreciated my silence. He smiled approvingly and patted my cheeks.
“Imagine my despair when one day, your mother just stopped crying no matter what I did. She stopped screaming. I couldn’t take it. It was life she had given up on life. I knew I had to do something. I released her from her cage and put her in my lab. It was heartbreaking to see her no longer react. So, I experimented on her and tried making clones of her using her blood. It was successful but none of them could satisfy me the way your mother did. None of them cried as beautifully as she did. I gave the clones to my subordinates instead. Do you realize now how much I loved your mother? If it was not her, I can’t live. I feel exactly the same about you, butterfly.”
I could feel Zephyr’s simmering anger but just like me, he had to hold it in. I was so furious that I could not even cry anymore.
Holding back today was one of the h*ardest things I ever had to do.
“Why did you steal her powers?”
Trent’s smile widened. “Because I found out about your existence, butterfly. I saw you when I went to the shifter’s realm. I watched you cry every night. It was such a delight to watch.” He closed his eyes like he was reliving the memory. “But I could not let Hawk Rodrigo taint you. I killed him for you and let you run. I gave you a way to escape. When I realized you inherited your mother’s powers, I had to steal hers in preparation for taking you, to make sure that this time, the second woman that I fell in love with would not be taken away from me.”
“Why did you pretend to be a human then?”
“I compelled that dumb Addison. I wanted to be next to you while I learn to navigate your mother’s powers inside me. It was just a pity that I could not be with you all the time. Otherwise, it would trigger your mana. I never wanted you to manifest in the first place. I wanted to keep enjoying your pain.
“Do you know that you are the loveliest when you struggle? When you bleed? My butterfly, you are more beautiful than your mother! I could not count how many cages I had built because of you! You are my true muse!” But his mood darkened until he started grabbing my face. His f*ingers dug my skin. “But that Trevor just had to show up and ruined all of my plans!”
Trent released my face. He pulled his hair and screamed. “I hate that son of a b*itch! Why didn’t he just die during the phoenix ritual?” But when he seemed to have recovered, he rushed next to the cage again and smiled at me. “But have no fear, butterfly. I will not let him steal you away from me again.”
He stopped mid sentence when we suddenly heard a roar.
I could not explain the relief that I felt.
Trevor was here.
Once again, he came for me.
Trent’s mood soured. “That Rodrigo will die by my h*ands today! I will make him pay. Wait for me here, butterfly. I will fight for you. For our love.”
He dragged Zephyr with him as he left the room while leaving me with dozens of mages. I sat on the ground, trying to formulate a plan. Now I understand why my wolf reacted like that upon sensing Trent’s mana. My wolf had recognized my mother’s power flowing inside him.
Mom was stronger than me. With the combination of her powers and Trent’s, this will be a very tough battle even for Trevor, his pack, and the vampires.
I needed to do something.
I cannot just sit here and wait for rescue while they risk their lives for me, while they fight for me.
“I really hope that Cameron had a grand plan. Otherwise, this could backfire and go wrong,” I heard one of the mages say.
“What do you mean? How could this go wrong?’’
“You are new. You don’t know things yet but I do. I once encountered Trevor Rodrigo when Cameron commanded us to assassinate him in his pack house. Obviously, we failed. I escaped after I saw him tear their bodies with just his h*ands, John. Our master may be a demon but that one will not h*andle this without blood and death. He is not just a beast. He is the king of all the beasts. Do you know that woman we took?”
“Cameron’s lover?”
“No. You don’t get it, John. That one right there is Trevor Rodrigo’s woman. We just took away the most important person in his life. This means war.”
They were first-tier mages and yet, I detected nervousness in their voices.
But they had only heard about my mate.
They hadn’t heard about me yet.
I grabbed the roses in the cage and allowed myself to bleed some more to wake my mana that seemed to have been frozen inside me. It hurt; the thorns were different in this place. They were bigger, longer, and sharper but I needed to feel the pain.
With every drop of blood, I could feel my mana beginning to flow inside me. My wolf which seemed to have fallen asleep for a while had finally opened her eyes.
She got up, revealed her fangs, and roared.
That was all I needed.
I stood up and shifted.
