Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee Chapter 121

Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee (Book 2)

Chapter 121 Far Fetched (Caspian Diego)

Years Ago:

“My father presented them with the b*ody of the unfortunate maid, insisting that she was his daughter. Their lives were so consumed with their own affairs that they paid no heed to even glimpse at her face. Without hesitation, they swiftly disposed of her b*ody in the pit alongside several others that had arrived a day prior, and set them all ablaze.

I found myself pondering the fate of the woman he had killed. His obsession with royal women had spiraled out of control. Nevertheless, our foremost concern remained Kellice.

Her behavior had taken a peculiar turn, but my father adamantly refused to acknowledge that she wasn’t well.” “Caspian, go and bring your sister a sandwich,” he ordered me as the remnants of our pack gathered around the dinner table. There wasn’t much left of our pack anymore. Ever since my sister was brought home in that state, my father had ceased to care about the war.

We no longer had any warriors among us. It was just me, my dad, and a few other elders, along with their daughter, Denise. She was my age but, like me, she also harbored fears of leading a normal teenage life.

“Dad! She really scares me,” I confessed in a hushed and guilty tone. “The last time I entered her room to give her something to eat, she tried to bite me,” I whispered, recalling the terror I felt when it happened. Seeing my sister, in that moment, wanting to hurt me had nearly shattered me.

“Because you got too close. Just leave the food in the bowl in the corner,” my dad hissed at me, rebuking my complaint as my own mistake. “Why does she eat like a dog? If she’s fine, why can’t she come and sit with us, and-” I began, trying to make my father realize that this wasn’t the life my sister would have wanted. But before I could finish, he raised his wine glass and forcefully splashed it across my face. I suppressed a gasp, quickly composing myself.

“I’ll take this to her,” I said, feeling insulted. I got up abruptly and hurried away. As I entered the room, a foul smell of dirty laundry and feces assailed my nostrils. Fireflies danced in the room, and amidst them sat my sister, bound in chains.

“Most of her bones were already broken as she yearned to transform and become a wild wolf. She hadn’t uttered a word, and I doubted she was even capable of thinking like a human anymore.

Leaving the sandwich by the bowl, I cautiously exited the room, only to bump into my father’s unyielding c*hest. He seized me by the back of my neck and dragged me back inside.

“Do you see this–,” he pointed at my sister, and I shivered. She had begun to crawl toward the bowl to eat.

“This is because of the girl’s father that you have a crush on. You know she is living the best life while your sister is reduced to living like a dog? It’s all because of them,” my dad held me, positioning me to face my sister, while he whispered into my ears from behind. “Do you have any idea how much it pains me to see my daughter like this? But you don’t care. You’d rather love someone who’s the reason your sister is in this state than plan for revenge,” he hissed.

“But it’s not her fault,” I recalled Gen and felt sorry for everyone who had used words like ‘brat’ and ‘ignorant’ for her.

“Oh, you have no idea how much it is her fault. Do you know why there wasn’t any cure left? Because they gave it to her. She needed the magical potion that could have been used for the cure, and they gave it to her. But that doesn’t mean we’ve lost everything. The magical potion remains in her system forever. So, if we obtain her blood and the magical herb that only grows in one pack, we can bring your sister back to life. Don’t you want that?” As soon as he mentioned the possibility of my sister’s recovery, my heart brimmed with hope.

“There’s nothing I want more than my sister’s health,” I replied.

“So, hear me out. We must get our hands on that girl when she turns eighteen. That’s when the magical potion in her blood will be at its peak. After that, we can use that potion and the henbane to restore the life your sister deserves,” my dad was making complete sense now.

“And quit harboring feelings for that girl. She’s the reason your sister is in this state. She’s only a beautiful facade; deep down inside, she’s as ugly as her father,” my dad’s grip around the back of my neck tightened as he awaited my agreement. At this point, I knew what I had to say.

“You’re right. She’s such a brat,” I repeated after him. For the next several years, I repeated the same mantra over and over again. I was told I was supposed to obtain her blood, gain access to the royal lockers, and mend my sister’s life.

She obviously didn’t age, so my father held high expectations for her. He wanted her to improve so that she could assume control of the pack as the new alpha. He would cast me aside, as he always had. However, it didn’t bother me too much. As long as I could see my sister doing well, I was content.

Then, the day I had been eagerly awaiting finally arrived. I had nearly feared losing Gen to some affluent alpha. Thankfully, their mating ceremony was called off due to his foolish errors, and now I had the chance to step up and be the one for her.

Fighting a monster wasn’t a challenge for me. My father had sent me on numerous missions before to prepare me for the impending war. His original strategy was to initiate a war and seize what rightfully belonged to us.

However, when the news of Lord Bernard seeking a potential husband for his cherished daughter reached us, I couldn’t help but ponder if the Moon Goddess had given me a chance to obtain what I had always longed for.

My Gen!
