Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee Chapter 128

Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee (Book 2)

Chapter 128 Chained Her Ex (Emre Shield)

I went to my mom’s place, but instead of finding something from her, I discovered that Genevieve hadn’t been answering her phone. Bellamy and Wolvin had been blowing up my phone, asking me a million questions.

“I don’t know. I told her to stay in the house; she must be there. Maybe she was tired, so she fell asleep,” I mumbled, feeling anxiety grow inside me.

I had only reached my house and was standing in front of Abigail when I heard the news that Gennie wasn’t responding to anyone.

“We were attacked by some wild ones; we are fine, though, but now we are heading back home,” Bellamy said from the other side. I knew they never left to get fruits; they were looking everywhere for a cure. “Did you find anything, though?” I asked them.

“No way! Everyone who was in that war said the ones who got bitten ended up dead,” I detected sadness in Bellamy’s tone, a sentiment I shared. We had been so foolish to take that step last night. Our anger had gotten the best of us, resulting in Caspian’s life hanging in the balance. “I’m coming home,” I mumbled, deciding to pick up the diary and read it once I was back home to ensure Gennie was also alright.

“Is he dying?” Abigail rushed inside, attempting to snatch the diary surreptitiously.

“I hope not.” I couldn’t even admit to anyone that it was our actions that had caused his predicament.

“Is Genevieve okay? You shouldn’t have left her, Emre,” I knew Abigail would reprimand me for being so careless. I had believed that she would be safe if she remained in the house.

“I understand. Just get me the diary so I can hurry back to her,” I insisted, and Abigail complied swiftly. Without wasting a moment, she darted outside with the diary. I knew she wouldn’t have done it if Caspian’s life weren’t hanging in the balance.

The diary held a sacred place in my father’s heart because my mother used to interview him and record everything within its pages. I’m certain she wouldn’t appreciate just anyone reading it. But right now, a life was at stake. So I needed to grab it and head home.

As I sat in the Uber, eager for a swift return home, my attention was drawn to a passing carthat caught my eye.

“That was Alpha Ron’s car. Why was he here?” I questioned, finding it odd because there was nothing else on these mountains besides our house.

Fear began to settle in as I considered the situation. “Gennie was all alone, and now I’m seeing this man leave the area. I hope she’s fine,” I muttered to myself. I couldn’t believe she had called him home. She would never think about anything else when her mate was dying. At least I knew that much about her.

Just when I thought I would return home to find Gennie safe and perhaps get an explanation for Ron’s visit, I saw Wolvin and Bellamy rush out of the house as if they’d been searching for someone. “What’s going on?” I asked in terror.

“Vieve is gone,” Bellamy lamented, running his h*and through his hair and looking devastated.

“What do you mean she’s gone?” I asked in a panicky tone. My heartbeat accelerated, and I couldn’t help but wonder if Ron had something to do with it.

“She’s nowhere to be found,” Wolvin growled, his readiness to react evident in his stance.

“What about Caspian?” I needed to explore all possibilities. What if he managed to escape, and she decided to follow him? Perhaps when she realized she couldn’t handle it alone, she sought Ron’s assistance. But then, why would she call him instead of us?

“He’s still tied up in the room, and she’s gone. There’s no way she would leave him like that,” Bellamy stated, and his reasoning made sense. Gennie wasn’t the type to act so irresponsibly. Something must have gone very wrong.

“I saw Ron leaving the mountains.” As soon as I shared what I had witnessed a few minutes ago, their gazes turned to me, and then they exchanged glances with each other.

“Do you think maybe he did something to her?” Bellamy’s voice was filled with reluctance to believe it, and I shared his inner turmoil.

“There’s only one way to find out,” Wolvin, without explaining his intentions, suddenly sprinted into the woods, leaving us bewildered and without a plan.

“What did he mean by that?” Bellamy asked in a hissing and confused tone. “I think he’s taken matters into his own hands. But we can’t just sit here either,” I grumbled, frustration coursing through me as I realized I shouldn’t have left her alone.

“Why did you leave her all by herself?” Bellamy, now scrutinizing the situation, directed his initial blame toward me. I couldn’t even argue. I had made a mistake.

“I had to go fetch a diary,” I paused as I checked my pockets and realized I had left the diary in the Uber.

“F*uck!” I let out a loud curse. “I’ll talk to you later. I need to retrieve the things I lost.” Recognizing that the diary might hold some answers, I couldn’t afford to linger any longer.

I descended the mountains while calling the Uber driver, inquiring if he could locate the diary in the backseat of his car. Simultaneously, I pondered what Ron might have done to Gennie. At that moment, losing both Gennie and the diary, I had a stark realization of my own inadequacy. All my pride and ego amounted to nothing if I continued making such mistakes.

“Abigail! The Uber driver will leave the diary at the door. He refused to come back and give it to me, claiming he had somewhere to be. Please hold onto it for__ me.

After the Uber driver left me in the lurch, I left a note for her. At least he had assured me he would leave the diary with her. On my way back home, a voice note from Bellamy arrived, and from the tone of it, I anticipated a tense situation awaited me.

“Come back home. Wolvin has captured Ron and chained him in the living room. He said he’s going to torture him until Ron discloses where Vieve is.”
