Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee Chapter 129

Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee (Book 2)

Chapter 129 Her Ex Alpha Mate Still Cares About Her (Emre Shield)

I should have realized something terrible had occurred when I spotted blood on the porch. It wasn’t a small amount; it appeared as though someone had been severely injured.

“What did you do to her?” Wolvin grunted, throwing another punch at Ron. They had been in the living room for the past ten minutes, and now it seemed they had resorted to torture.

“I didn’t do anything to her!” Ron yelled, grimacing and spitting out blood. He was securely bound in Wolvin’s chains. I couldn’t fathom how anyone could escape from them, but that was the point. We knew Ron wouldn’t be freed from those chains until he told us where she was.

“Then what were you doing here?” Wolvin pulled a chair in front of him, maintaining intense eye contact.

“I cannot tell you that. But just know–I didn’t hurt her,” Ron’s acting skills were so convincing that for a brief moment, even I found myself doubting his guilt. But if he didn’t harm her, then why was he refusing to reveal the reason for his presence?

Wolvin abruptly rose, holding something in his h*and. I tried to get a good look at it, but before I could do so, he stabbed Ron in the shoulder.

“ARGHHH!” Ron’s blood-curdling scream indicated that whatever he had been stabbed with was likely soaked in silver powder and wolfbane.

“Now! Either you tell us, or you die here today,” Wolvin leaned over him from behind, his voice a hiss in Ron’s ear.

Bellamy had gone inside Caspian’s room to check on him. When he emerged, even Wolvin was momentarily distracted by the sadness on Bellamy’s face.

“He’s not even talking anymore. He’s just growling and hissing,” Bellamy reported in a shaky tone. I couldn’t even begin to imagine how he felt seeing Caspian bound in chains, which was why I had refused to go inside.

I couldn’t bear to witness him in so much pain. You might think a warrior would be accustomed to such sights, but it’s never easy when the person suffering is someone you’ve grown close to.

We had started as rivals for Gennie’s affections, a competition of sorts. But somehow, we had become like brothers.

The thought of losing one of us weighed heavily on all of us, and on top of that, we were missing Gennie terribly.

“Wait! Is that Caspian?” Ron coughed, trying to position himself better as he spoke.

“What happened to him?” He looked shocked and almost bewildered as he heard Caspian growl from inside. “If you don’t tell us where Gem is, you’ll soon become his meal,” Wolvin grabbed the back of Ron’s n*eck and forced him to tilt his head back, exposing his face. “Wait! Is he-is there something wrong with him?” Ron seemed more concerned about Caspian’s condition than discussing Gennie.

“Listen–if you tell me, I might be able to help you,” Wolvin’s offer made us exchange glances, wondering if we should reveal the truth to him.

Wolvin, however, didn’t respond well to gestures. He continued to torture Ron, attempting to poke his eye out with a knife.

“Wolvin!” I shouted as I approached him, forcefully pushing him back.

“Wait!” I warned him, “Will you tell us where Gennie is if we explain what happened to Caspian?” I asked, leveling my gaze with his.

“Did he get bitten by–s*hit!” Ron didn’t wait for us to provide any details; he had already deduced it from Caspian’s howls. “Tell us, what did you do to Gennie?” Now that he seemed to have his answer about Caspian, I wondered if he would provide us with any information.

“She called me earlier,” he began to speak, “she asked for a favor.” He struggled to steady his breaths. I could imagine it wasn’t easy knowing you were tied up in the same house with someone who had been bitten by a wild one.

“What favor?” Wolvin grunted, while Bellamy paced anxiously from one corner to another.

“She wanted to obtain something from the royal lockers. What she asked for was very specific and also very sacred, so I questioned her motives, and I guess I upset her,” Ron hurriedly explained, trying to speak before Wolvin could harm him again.

“What did she ask for?” Bellamy inquired. “Henbane!” As soon as Bellamy heard that name, I could see something change in his demeanor.

“What about it? Why would she want henbane?” Bellamy had taken it upon himself to question Ron now. Wolvin and I exchanged a covert glance, suspecting that Bellamy might have some knowledge about henbane.

“She wanted henbane, and if you’re not aware of it–Henbane is used as a potent remedy for many diseases,” Ron elaborated, leaving us stunned. Could henbane potentially be used to help Caspian?

“Then?” Bellamy continued to press him for information.

“I got it for her, but before I could even leave the royal lockers, I found her there. I gave her the henbane and drove her back home. However, I parked way far ahead because of what happened last time. After that, I didn’t hear from her,” Ron finished, watching our skeptical expressions.

“And you expect us to believe you?” I rolled my eyes, while Wolvin rushed to the corner of the living room.

“Isn’t this Gem’s phone?” He picked up her phone and handed it to me. “Caspian isn’t here, so maybe you’d like to go through her phone.” Wolvin’s comment made it sound like I had a nosy streak, especially after Caspian.

Giving Ron one last harsh and deadly glare, I went through Gennie’s phone. Just as Ron had claimed, I found an outgoing call in the call log that lasted for a few minutes. There were also text messages from Ron that she might not have opened.

Ron: I got it for you.

Ron: Where do you want me to drop the henbane for you?

Ron: Genevieve! I’m sorry if I made it seem like I wasn’t willing to help you. It’s just that I got worried.

Ron: Hello?

These messages appeared to be from the time when she had left for the royal lockers. But what happened afterward? Where did she go?
