Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee Chapter 136

Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee (Book 2)

Chapter 136 Stole Her From Him (Genevieve Swan)

I couldn’t see anything clearly after I squeezed the trigger twice into her chest. Her body slumped over mine, and I swiftly pushed her aside, stepping away.

She was still gasping for breath as she lay on the chilly floor. I noticed that she was just a young girl, maybe in her early twenties. But what had happened to her? Why did she appear so wild?

As she took her final breaths, her eyes locked onto mine, and a faint smile tried to form on her l*ips. She appeared so serene as she gradually closed her eyes and departed. Without any further delay, I chose not to inspect any more doors and sprinted outside to seek assistance for Denise. This man was undoubtedly disturbed.

I pondered how many other bizarre things he might have concealed in other rooms. Just as I began to sprint, I noticed a glow at the far end of the hallway. I was nearly out when I spotted a group of people rushing towards me.

It wasn’t just one person; it was all my mates. They rushed inside, and I came to a halt, observing them as they looked at me and then let out a sigh of relief. The blood on their clothes indicated that they had been the ones fighting outside.

It seemed they had managed to find me. “Gennie!” Emre exclaimed with a deep breath of relief, rushing over, followed by the others.

“Emre!” Exhausted and worn out, I nearly crumpled into his arms. But before I could voice any complaints, I pulled away from the hug because I noticed someone standing beside him.

“Caspian!” I couldn’t help but smile. I stepped away from Emre and hugged Caspian tightly. He seemed to be in good shape.

“Oh my goodness! Are you okay? Please, tell me he didn’t hurt you,” Caspian started to check me from top to bottom, making sure his father hadn’t done anything else to me.

“I’m okay. But that girl-Denise! She’s still tied up in that room,” I gestured toward the opposite end of the hallway, but Caspian seemed to be preoccupied with a different concern.

“Wait! There’s something I need to do first,” he said, offering a faint smile as he held up a bottle filled with a mixture of red and green liquids.

“What’s this?” I inquired.

“It’s an antidote,” he answered, his cheerful smile bringing immense relief. Just a day ago, I had feared I might never see him again. Yet here we were, standing before each other, and he appeared so joyful.

“You took the antidote?” I grinned, realizing that not all four people here were my mates. One was missing. “Wolvin isn’t with you,” I observed. “He is outside, chasing after the bad guy,” Bellamy hissed as he recalled Caspian’s father.

As it turned out, the other guy was none other than Ron. I was surprised, but I decided to postpone arguing with him and try to understand what he was doing with my friends.

“No! I brought this antidote for my sister,” he explained, and a frown appeared on my forehead. I couldn’t tell if he had lost his mind or if he was joking.

“Your sister who passed away years ago?” I inquired, and he shook his head. “No! I didn’t tell you the truth about her because I was afraid you would inform your father, or the information would somehow get out,” he explained, but I couldn’t shake the odd sensation that had suddenly washed over me.

It was as if I had a persistent feeling in the back of my head that I had made a big mistake, but I couldn’t quite pinpoint it.

“My sister! Kellice was bitten by a wild wolf many years ago, and my father kept her in chains all this time, searching for a cure. That’s why I never had the courage to leave him because I knew that if I did, there would be no one to care for her. I endured all the abuse silently because I believed that one day, this moment would come,” he gently rubbed my elbow and then hurriedly walked past me, saying, “We need to administer this antidote to her quickly.”

I followed him, with the others trailing closely behind. I had no idea what was about to happen, but a dreadful feeling gnawed at me for something I had done just five minutes ago.

“You know, I’ve waited for this day,” he kept whispering happily as he ran. But then he abruptly stopped, and the rest of us came to a standstill too.

“Wait! Kellice! NOOOOO!” His scream pierced our ears, and I recoiled from the horrifying sight. The she-wolf I had killed was his sister.

The very same sister they had kept alive for so long, only for her to pass away without ever receiving the antidote. “No! No! Dad can’t do this,” he cried out loudly, tears streaming down his face. He shook his head as he dropped to his knees, and the bottle of antidote shattered beside him.

“No! Please,” he pleaded, hugging her and pulling her onto his lap. “Look! I got you the antidote. Please wake up now. You’ve endured so much not to die like this.” His heavy breathing and wailing tore at my heart. A pair of hands held me, and I turned around to bury my face in his chest.

“I did it,” I sobbed against Bellamy’s chest.

“What?” Bellamy asked in a hushed tone. “It wasn’t Alpha I-Oh who killed her, I did,” I confessed as I dropped the gun. I heard Caspian suddenly fall silent.

I felt him move away from her body and stand up.

“You killed her?” his question came from right behind me.

“She attacked me, and I–” I began to cry, but I was so ashamed and guilty that I couldn’t even turn around to look him in the eye. I had stolen his greatest happiness.

“What have you done…” he whispered, almost in disbelief. My heart was pounding, and tears streamed down my face.

“I…” I covered my m*outh with my hands and wept.

“Couldn’t you wait?” he yelled, and then I heard a thud. He had dropped to his knees, crying hysterically while her body lay there.
