Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee Chapter 137

Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee (Book 2)

Chapter 137 The Not So Horrible Ex- Mate (Genevieve Swan)

Caspian had hurried out of the mansion the moment everything had unfolded, and I felt compelled to follow him. I couldn’t bear to leave him alone, especially when I was the one who had shattered the happiness he had longed for.

“Gennie, how about you head back home with Bellamy?” Emre finally halted after we had walked for some time. I watched him closely, noticing how he avoided my eyes when making that suggestion.

“You think he’s avoiding me?” I asked, maintaining eye contact with him. I was starting to feel like I was being too persistent. It was no secret that Caspian might be hesitant to see me after I had just caused the death of his sister.

“I’m just saying it might be better if you and Bellamy head back home. It’s not that we don’t want you around. But the rogue wolves are still lurking in the shadows, and with you being out of the house and our priority being Caspian’s safety, we can’t really focus on searching for him,” Emre sighed, explaining it to me even though I should have realized it on my own.

“I understand, and I’m sorry for bombarding you with questions,” I said, taking a step back from them.

“Don’t be. It’s not your fault,” Emre whispered, and Bellamy walked up to me, gently patting the back of my h*and.

“Let’s go, let’s take you home,” Bellamy said with a calm and soothing demeanor. I left the others behind and followed Bellamy. I didn’t even notice when Ron had left us at some point. I got into the car with Bellamy, letting out a sigh, my eyes becoming teary.

“How did you guys find out where I was?” I asked Bellamy, who was comfortably settled in the driver’s seat.

“From your messages with Alpha I-Oh,” he replied, starting the engine. “What about Caspian? How did you… cure him?” Just saying his name brought back a rush of memories from an hour ago. I couldn’t even begin to fathom how he must be feeling at this moment. He might be harboring intense resentment towards me. I felt like I might be the worst thing that had ever happened to him.

“Emre’s girlfriend found out about the antidote from his father’s diary. We collected your blood from the front porch, and Ron brought us the henbane. Then, we administered the antidote, and Caspian was the one who guided us to his mansion,” Bellamy explained, his eyes fixed on the road as he drove.

“I feel so guilty,” I whispered, turning my face away.

“Hey, she attacked you. They kept the truth from you, and you woke up in a room, bound by his father, only to be attacked by a wild wolf. Tell me again how it’s your fault? If anything, you’ve survived a truly horrific ordeal, my Vieve,” Bellamy reassured me, placing his h*and on mine and offering a comforting smile. “Thank you,” I said, deeply appreciating his words. I had feared that everyone might blame me for what had transpired in that mansion.

For the rest of the ride, I remained silent and even declined any food. Upon our return home, we found Ron waiting on the front porch.

“You went missing,” Bellamy remarked, holding the car door open for me.

“I just had to,” Ron sat in a chair with his elbows resting on his t*highs before he noticed our arrival and got up.

“I figured you guys would want to talk privately,” Ron mumbled, stealing quick glances in my direction.

“Can I please talk to her for a moment?” Ron requested. Despite Bellamy initially looking hesitant, he eventually stepped into the house, giving us some space.

I knew Ron had caused trouble in my life before, but he had also helped when Caspian needed an antidote. So, my anger toward him had somewhat diminished.

“Thank you for–” I started, but he cut me off.

“Are you okay? I was so worried about you, Genevieve,” he whispered hurriedly, his eyes scanning me from head to toe.

“I don’t think I’ll be okay after what I did,” I replied with a heavy heart.

“You mean to say when you saved yourself? I don’t see how that’s a crime,” he immediately shook his head, making it clear that he didn’t blame me for anything.

“I can’t say that to Caspian. He has every right to be upset with me,” I confessed, my guilt over being the cause of Caspian’s anguish weighing heavily on me.

“Hey, when he finds out how you went to such great lengths just to find an antidote for him, he’ll realize how fortunate he is,” Ron reassured me with a smile, clearly impressed by my determination to help Caspian, regardless of the consequences.

“I’ll go now,” he said, taking a step back. For a slightly awkward moment, he seemed to be staring at my l*ips. “If you need anything-Genevieve, anything!” His voice was filled with intense emotion. “Call me for anything. I won’t hesitate to put my life on the line for you,” he declared, his words leaving a profound impact on me.

I couldn’t muster the courage to ask him why, if he cared so much, he had cheated on me in the past. Why had he risked everything for something as fleeting as s*ex? Some questions were better left unasked, for they carried the weight of unspoken truths.

It all seemed so perplexing, but at that moment, I couldn’t bring myself to discuss anything other than my concern for Caspian.

“Goodbye,” I said, taking a deep breath, and walked past Ron to enter the mansion. Inside, I found Bellamy seated on the couch, his expression intensely focused.

“Your father called,” he began but then hesitated.

“What for?” I asked, my concern growing as to why my father had called now. The anxious look on Bellamy’s face heightened my curiosity. It had to be something very serious for him to appear this concerned.

“He wants us to move into the mansion with him.” Just when we hadn’t even begun to resolve one problem, it appeared we were about to step into another messy situation.
