Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee

Chapter 34 The Hated Son-In-Law (Genevieve Swan)

“Her father had sent his cars and guards for us,” Caspian exclaimed, informing the others while I remained in the bathroom, gazing at my reflection in the mirror.

I no longer had a reason to back down from this dinner. If I wanted to find answers and escape, I had to act normal and meet up with my father.

Monique had chosen a maroon gown for me. She had sent it over for me to wear it. I applied my makeup and curled my red hair to achieve a more polished look.

The guys had selected distinct suits for the dinner. Caspian wore black, Bellamy donned a grey suit, and Emre opted for a blue one. Wolvin, on the other h*and, wore an old brown suit, which Bellamy and Caspian couldn’t help but point out as outdated.

“I can do this,” I whispered to myself. This dinner would reveal my true position in the pack, and it might also cause my mates to act even more recklessly around me.

It was a significant night for them as they would be introduced to the pack counselors and important figures.

As I exited the bathroom, I found them sitting around and waiting for me in the living room. Their eyes shamelessly scanned me, making me wonder why they were observing me so intensely.

“I’m ready,” I announced grumpily, rolling my eyes and scoffing.

“We can tell,” Bellamy’s comment didn’t sound sarcastic. He wore a peculiarly satisfied smile on his l*ips.

My dad had specifically instructed them to arrive in the car he had sent for us. Soon, we left the house and settled into the car. I felt a twinge of anxiety, wondering how the dinner would unfold.

I didn’t want to make any mistakes and face reprimand. If that happened, my mates would mock me for the entire week and possibly even bully me.

“Don’t mention anything about her running away,” Caspian told Wolvin, once again attempting to portray Wolvin as lacking in social graces.

“F*uck off, Caspian,” Wolvin grunted, looking out the window with his l*egs spread and his f*inger rubbing under his b*ottom l*ip.

“Somebody dolled up quite cute,” Bellamy sneaked in a comment, trying to avoid the attention of the others. It seemed like a mission to avoid complimenting me. Every time one of them was nice to me, the others would bully him until he retreated.

I didn’t respond to Bellamy and turned my face to the other side.

“She’s being quite moody today. Obviously, she’ll get to show us what a luxurious life she leads and how many servants are ready to serve her,” Emre remarked with a tinge of bitterness. I didn’t understand how my father’s wealth was my fault, but I remained silent.

I feared their assumptions would crumble tonight. Once we arrived at the mansion, everyone stepped out, but Wolvin hurried to open the door for me. He had been trying to speak to me since that day, but I had avoided him like a red flag.

I didn’t even thank him as I exited the car. My mind was in a troubled state. My body trembled uncontrollably as I approached the mansion. I wondered if my dad was in a good mood tonight. He must be, since he personally invited us.

“Let’s go,” Wolvin stayed behind to ensure I was walking fine. He must have noticed that I wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about this dinner, at least not in their presence.

“My dear daughter!” my father’s cheerful voice greeted me as soon as I stepped into the mansion. I lifted my h*ead to find my father rushing towards me for a hug. He quickly pulled me into a comforting embrace, making me feel better.

“I’ve missed you, my princess,” Dad broke the hug and cupped my face in his h*ands. “Ow!” he suddenly frowned, scanning my mates.

They were instantly taken aback, wondering what had gone wrong. “You seem unwell. Have you lost weight?” Dad appeared displeased with my appearance. Despite my efforts to look stunning for the night, I had once again disappointed my father.

“She looks fine to me,” Wolvin interjected unexpectedly, diverting my father’s attention. Dad turned to him and scrutinized him from h*ead to toe before flinching in disgust.

“She doesn’t eat,” Caspian jumped in to save everyone’s skin. “No matter how much I try to feed her, she doesn’t listen.”

I closed my eyes to control my frustration towards him. Such a liar. Not once has he asked me if I’ve eaten. “Oh! Why, my daughter? Why don’t you eat? You know girls don’t look good when they’re all skin and bones,” Dad complained.

All I could do was nod in agreement. “And your hair doesn’t look good like this. Keep them straight,” Dad sighed again, causing me to retreat further into my shell.

It was foolish of me to believe my reflection in the mirror. I had thought I looked good tonight.

“I told her the same thing,” Bellamy chimed in, annoying me and winking to tease me when my father wasn’t looking. Everything was a joke to them.

However, their disappointment grew when they realized that nobody else was present to accompany them. It became clear that my father intended for this dinner to be an exclusive gathering solely for us.

“Come on, let’s go inside,” Dad patted my back and turned to my mates. “Ah! The two h*andsome alphas. I love your tuxedos. Your choices are fabulous,” he complimented Bellamy and Caspian, filling them with pride.

“And here’s the warrior of my pack. No wonder everyone in higher ranks of our pack is the best out there,” he exclaimed happily upon seeing Emre.

Then, he shifted his gaze to Wolvin, who stood tall to the side, awaiting his turn.

Everyone watched my father in silence, eager to see his reaction towards Wolvin. Bellamy and Caspian appeared like two obnoxious bullies eagerly anticipating the teacher to single out the nerdy kid and mock him.

“And you! Um, don’t wear those shoes inside. We recently acquired a very expensive carpet,” Dad commented with a nose upturned. It was evident that he didn’t like Wolvin.
