Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee
Chapter 36 Put Your H*ead On My Shoulder (Genevieve Swan)
“I’m not going back in there,” I stuttered, my voice hiccupping from the countless tears I had shed.
“Don’t listen to her. Let’s drag her back; she’ll have to behave once she’s in front of her dad,” Bellamy advised Caspian. He nodded and began to drag me as my protests grew stronger.
“Let her go,” Emre murmured, voicing his opinion in an undertone without much protest.
“No! Emre, don’t you understand how important it is for us to connect with Lord Bernard?” Caspian resisted Emre’s decision.

“Let me go,” I cried hysterically, attempting to free my h*ands from Caspian’s tight grip. He had both my wrists restrained in his h*and, demonstrating the power he held over me.
“Didn’t you hear her?” Wolvin finally grunted, swiftly walking over to push Caspian aside and untie my h*ands. He grabbed Caspian’s h*and to release my h*ands from between them.
“Dude, what’s wrong with you?” Caspian complained.
“She’s crying badly. There must be something we’re unaware of,” Emre stated, stealthily approaching to take me out of Wolvin’s grasp. He held my h*ands, examining the bruises left by Caspian’s forceful grip. However, I continued to cry as if there were no tomorrow.
All the childhood memories flooded my mind, and I wanted to run away and never return.
With Emre by my side and Wolvin acting as a shield, I found solace in knowing that at least I wouldn’t be forcibly taken back to that mansion. However, I couldn’t comprehend why Bellamy and Caspian dismissed my tears and emotions, refusing to take them seriously.
“Don’t let her tears deceive you. She just wants her father to give her all his attention. That’s the only reason she’s crying,” Bellamy tried to dismiss my emotions once again, painting me as a spoiled princess seeking attention.
“We’ve seen how difficult her father is to deal with,” Wolvin disagreed with Bellamy, positioning himself between me and the others.
“Hey, look at me,” Emre cupped my face in his h*ands, attempting to make eye contact. But my eyes were restless. I kept zoning out and whimpering.
“You’re saying this because he didn’t compliment you,” Caspian scoffed, taunting Wolvin.
“Do you think I was expecting a compliment from a man who couldn’t see the beauty of his own daughter and couldn’t praise her? If he is blind to her beauty, he would be blind to everything else,” Wolvin’s comment pierced my heart, and unknowingly, I rushed into Emre’s arms.
He was quick to hug me tightly, ensuring my face was hidden in his chest. Silence lingered for a few minutes, and then Caspian grunted. “You guys act nice to her because you love it when she seeks solace in your arms,” he sounded bitter, but I didn’t want to focus on him at that moment. I was trying to calm myself down.
“Caspian and Bellamy, you two can go ah*ead and have dinner with her father. We’ll take her home,” Wolvin declared, his h*and gently resting on my back. He moved it slightly higher, placing it where he could feel my heartbeat.
“Oh, you’ll take her home? Can you even drive a car?” Bellamy’s taunting tone was enough for Wolvin to grunt. I anticipated his response because I would do anything to divert my attention from my misery right now.
“I can ride a horse,” Wolvin innocently replied, and my crying ceased.
Why did I feel so much better in my mate’s arms? Emre wasn’t even breathing heavily, careful not to disturb me. It surprised me to see them displaying emotions and not solely thinking of themselves.
“She’s not going back in there, at least for now. We’re taking her home,” Emre finally spoke up, receiving a scoff in response.
“Of course, you want to go back home with her. The way you’re holding her— you act like you own her,” Caspian openly expressed his uncertainty, starting to bother me. I broke the hug but covered my face with my h*ands, embarrassed to cry in front of them like a maniac.
“Whatever,” Emre replied, “let’s go home. Nobody will take you anywhere you don’t want to go.” Once I uncovered my face, Emre gently placed his f*inger under my chin and whispered sweetly. He didn’t force me to lift my face; his f*inger simply t*ouched my chin before he withdrew it.
And so, it was decided. Bellamy had to call my dad and inform him that I wasn’t feeling well. I didn’t know my dad’s response, but I could tell I wouldn’t be able to postpone the meeting for long. Dad would invite me again, and this time, I would pay for my reaction.
I wished Wolvin had sat in the back because Caspian’s negative vibes were making it difficult for me to get comfortable.
Since Wolvin was a big guy, he would always try to sit alone. Emre sat on the other side of me. After a few minutes of an awkward car ride, Emre gently held my h*and and opened my palm. His f*inger traced over the accidental wound I had received last night.
“Does it still hurt?” Being a powerful werewolf had its perks; I guess he never had to acknowledge such wounds.
I shook my h*ead to indicate that it didn’t hurt anymore.
“Are you feeling better now?” Emre continued to ask, and with a nod, I answered him. It felt strange because I knew Caspian could hear us, yet he kept staring out the window.
“Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone take you anywhere you don’t feel comfortable going. And as for them, they’ll come around,” Emre assured me, his face drawing closer to my n*eck as he whispered in my ear. His f*ingers traced through my hair, providing a soothing sensation. I was genuinely surprised by his gentleness and thoughtfulness. “Get comfortable,” Emre whispered, shifting his shoulder closer, encouraging me to rest my h*ead on his shoulder. After considering it for a moment, despite my anger towards him for many things, I placed my h*ead on his shoulder and closed my eyes.
Arguing and fighting with your mate were one thing, but the comfort their presence and t*ouch provided couldn’t be replaced by anything else.
Eventually, I fell asleep in the car.
