Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee Chapter 41

Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee

Chapter 41 A Silent Punishment (Genevieve Swan)

I was utterly shocked when Wolvin barged into the bathroom and locked the door.

“I’m using the restroom. Can’t you wait?” I complained, rolling my eyes and frowning with anger. I vividly remembered how I had trusted him and opened up, only for him to hurt me with his truth.

“I didn’t come here to use the restroom,” he uttered.

“Are you okay?” he asked softly, leaving me to wonder what he was up to now.

“You came in here just to ask me that?” I muttered in a spoiled mood.

He shook his h*ead, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes in annoyance. “Then what are you here for?” I knew I was being rude to him, but it was entirely his fault.

“I heard you were crying here,” he softly mumbled, making me attempt to compose myself and not let his concern affect me.

“Who told you that?” I asked, maintaining my composure and keeping a frown on my face.

“Caspian!” he replied, and I shook my h*ead in disbelief.

“You should stop believing what he says. He’s just an a*sshole,” I muttered under my clenched jaw. Caspian was slowly getting under my skin to the point where I began to believe he had a valid reason for being so irritating.

“What now? I’m fine. Get out!” I then noticed that he was still standing in the doorway, unwilling to leave.

“Actually, I want to speak to you,” he whispered, causing me to narrow my eyes at him.

“In the bathroom?” I almost raised my voice, shocked by his request.

“I didn’t mean to hurt you the other day. You had disappeared with my belongings, and I felt like you were intentionally trying to anger me. But it wasn’t just that; you put your life at risk, and it infuriated me,” he began to explain, making the situation even more awkward. Why on earth were we having a conversation in the bathroom again?

“Oh, right! You thought that if anything happened to me, you’d lose the chance to claim a big reward,” I mentioned the contract and let out a sarcastic laugh. They were so obsessed with money that it seemed to be their only concern.

“No! I was worried about you,” he corrected me, and I could feel my face flushing red. I cleared my throat and straightened my back, trying not to appear too appreciative.

What was going on with him today? Why was he being so nice to me? “Okay! You’ve said what you wanted to say. Now, can you leave? I need to use the restroom,” I mumbled under my breath while stealing glances at him.

Goodness, he looked so h*andsome when he focused solely on me.

“Before I leave, I actually got something for you,” he said and pulled out an item from his pocket. It was quite surprising since Wolvin wasn’t known for understanding the concept of giving and receiving gifts.

“You didn’t have to,” I uttered, watching him approach. Goodness! He should leave before I melt. His body was so attractive and captivating that all I could focus on was his presence.

“Here!” he proceeded to h*and me the box, and as soon as I took hold of it, he stepped back. Meanwhile, that damn Caspian kept knocking on the door, as if he couldn’t remember that someone was already inside.

“I’ll go outside now,” Wolvin said and opened the door to leave. He didn’t even wait for me to open the box and see the gift. Once he was gone, I locked the door, ensuring that no one else could enter. I was still holding the box in my h*and.

“Why would he bring a gift for me?” knowing that he wasn’t keen on displaying affection toward anyone, it made me wonder why he chose me.

Not dwelling on it too much, I unwrapped the gift and discovered what he had brought.

“A dagger!” It was a beautiful white dagger from an antique collection, likely something used in a significant war. I wondered how he managed to acquire it until I remembered that some of the rogues had fought in that war.

Someone he knew must have passed it on to him. The dagger was incredibly exquisite, with engravings on the handle. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from it.

“This is my first weapon,” I realized that turning eighteen and my father not even gifting me my first dagger showed how little he trusted in my strength.

Clearly, I was considered a powerless creature. But my father should have focused more on developing my physical strength. He always said he was afraid to give me a weapon, fearing I might accidentally harm myself. Yet, Wolvin had given me the best thing.

I couldn’t help but wonder how closely he had been observing me to know that I wanted my first weapon to be special.

Feeling much better and happier, I dressed in a peach gown and left the bathroom to join my formidable mates for lunch.

They were once again dressed as if attending their own wedding. Except for Wolvin, who had opted for a blue jacket, blue jeans, and a white shirt. I could see Caspian and Bellamy exchanging glances to mock him.

“Let’s go,” I said, and they followed me to the car. Once inside, I didn’t engage in much conversation because I still dreaded seeing my father again. When we arrived at the mansion, I was stunned to see who was waiting at the door for us.

“Kit!” I whispered under my breath. I couldn’t believe my father had invited her and her family to lunch with us. I wished I hadn’t left last night. Now I would have to deal with them in front of these people.

“Ah! Welcome,” Kit bowed to my mates, sporting a s*eductive smile on her l*ips.

She didn’t even acknowledge me. Her entire focus was on Caspian and Emre. “Come inside,” she insisted, casting another quick glance at Caspian and Emre. As we entered the foyer, I was hit with another bombshell.

My father stood there, patting Ron’s shoulder.
