Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee

Chapter 84 A Sudden K*iss

I scoured every corner of the bedroom, but it was evident that he wasn’t here, and neither was my phone.

“Why would he leave the room like this?” I questioned myself, utterly perplexed. If he truly wanted to go for a run alone, he could have concocted an excuse for Emre.

Something was definitely amiss, and I needed to speak with Emre soon. Why Emre? Because they were the ones who had planned to go for a run. I figured that maybe they had decided to slip away together. Otherwise,

Caspian’s solo departure didn’t quite add up for me. With that thought, I left Caspian’s room and headed toward Emre’s.

In my mind, I had already prepared myself for his room to be vacant. Perhaps they were scheming together. So, without dwelling on it further, I pushed the door to his bedroom open and entered, finding him lying in the bed and his d*ick out.

Everything occurred so abruptly that I couldn’t even retreat. I found myself at the doorway, my eyes wide open, staring at him like a complete fool. He took a moment to react as well. Strangely, he didn’t appear surprised that I had caught him masturbating. The secret lay in his cellphone. He was in the midst of a video call with someone when I walked in on him. “Mumm! I wish you were here and could see how erect my n*ipples h—,” The girl’s voice carried a seductive tone as she moaned during the video call with him. Regrettably, or perhaps fortunately, her face remained hidden from my view as the screen was turned away from me.

“I—I’ll call you back later,” Emre quickly intervened, diving onto the bed, hushing her with urgency. He seemed to grapple with the decision of whether to cover himself or end the call first.

“Why? Is it her—” her voice trailed off as he abruptly ended the call, sitting up and straightening his posture. I averted my gaze from him, yet her words still echoed in my ears.

“You should have knocked,” he complained, evidently nervous due to getting caught.

I remained silent for another minute as he hastily retrieved a pair of black shorts and scrambled out of the bed.

“Um, what’s going on?” he inquired, causing me to lift my head and meet his gaze.

“I thought we had an understanding—” he paused, likely because we hadn’t agreed to engage in secretive affairs. Similar to Bellamy, Caspian, and Emre were supposed to inform me of their alternate choices. They weren’t supposed to continually switch partners.

While each of us had two options, it seemed Emre was being particularly discreet about the other person involved.

“Who is she?” I inquired, because this is what we had collectively decided. He was obligated to disclose who his second choice was.

“She’s my girlfriend,” he introduced her to me, his voice devoid of shame or hesitation.

“What’s her name? Who is she? Why have you never mentioned her to me before?” I started inquiring about all these aspects. I believed we were committed to being truthful with each other this time.

Just a few hours ago, they were all upset with me, and now they were being discovered harboring secrets from me.

“I already said, she’s my girlfriend,” his tone carried a t*ouch of defensiveness this time. “I apologize, but I can’t reveal her identity when she’s not ready for it,” he stated firmly, emphasizing that he was doing this to protect her privacy. Did he truly believe that was a reasonable explanation?

“Does she know about me?” I inquired, watching him nod in response.

“She’s not living under a rock,” he shrugged, his reply slightly nonchalant. “Then why can’t I know about her?” I asked, sensing my breathing becoming uneven. His explanations felt unfounded. He was guarding her identity as if I posed some sort of threat to her. Or was he concealing her because she was merely a fleeting occurrence?

“I don’t believe you,” the multitude of thoughts that had accumulated since he refused to disclose her identity began to fuel my anxiety.

I shook my head vehemently, conveying the intensity of my emotions at that moment. I found it incredibly challenging to place my trust in him.

“But I’m admitting that I have a girlfriend,” he persisted, closing the distance between us.

“No! You’re just using that allowance of having another girl in your life to conceal all the others you have,” my voice grew nearly louder as anger began to prickle beneath my skin. In that instant, I couldn’t comprehend it, but I felt like a complete fool. Wolvin had been correct all along. This pact was solely to their advantage.

They have the freedom to switch girlfriends whenever they please, enjoying their time, while I’m bound to my destined mates.

“You’re overreacting. I’ll introduce her to you soon,” Emre attempted to reach for my hand, but I withdrew from his t*ouch. I couldn’t determine if it was the shock of witnessing his conversation or the tangled nature of the pact that was unsettling me, but impatience and frustration were quickly building within me.

“Genevieve!” He discerned my continuous evasion of his t*ouch, and it seemed to hit him. After a few more moments of silence, as I struggled to contain my tears, he seized my hand and drew me against his chest. “I promise I’m not being untruthful. I’ll inform you about her in due time, but I’m apprehensive—you might become very angry with me. That’s the sole reason I haven’t discussed her with you,” he whispered softly, cupping my face with his hands, his efforts directed toward establishing eye contact.

I was infuriated to the point where I shut my eyes, denying him the satisfaction of peering into them.

“Why? Who is she?” I inquired, my eyes firmly shut. Why would I react with anger upon learning about her? Could she be someone I’m familiar with? Could it be that, in a cruel twist of fate, he had developed feelings for Kit? The realization struck me with the force of a blow, triggered by the memories of my ill-fated wedding. However, he was already taking the next stride before I could vocalize a name. My l*ips were abruptly sealed with his own, rendering any further speech impossible.
