Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee Chapter 91

Tossed Between Her Defiant Mates By Alexis Dee

Chapter 91 Bravo! (Genevieve Swan)

After preparing for the breakfast, I left Bellamy’s room without saying another word to him. The information he’d shared had left me in a state of confusion. I decided that I would have a conversation with Caspian, but only after he returned my phone. I needed to check if there were any traces of his malicious actions left behind.

This time, several members of his pack were also present at the breakfast table. It was a small consolation. I offered them smiles as I walked by, but I noticed that my gestures weren’t reciprocated. Not reading too much into it, I took a seat with my mates.

A heavy silence hung in the air, conversations absent and cheerful laughter conspicuously missing. Bellamy had already taken his seat beside me, attempting to act as if things were normal by serving food onto my plate.

“What a pity,” an elderly lady, likely named Patricia, murmured under her breath. Then, her voice shifted to a more inviting tone as she addressed Ariel, “Why don’t you join us?”

Ariel received a fractured smile from her, and my stomach clenched with unease. Something didn’t feel right. The way his pack members were extending kind gestures towards Ariel, aiding her with food, and striving to make her feel at ease—it all hinted at an underlying event. It was clear that something had occurred.

Patricia, who had greeted me with a bouquet of flowers upon my arrival, now directed harsh stares my way. The atmosphere was dense with tension and unspoken turmoil.

“Hmm! Sometimes these alphas become blinded by outer beauty, failing to see the deceit that a she-wolf might be orchestrating behind their backs,” Patricia’s words were laced with meaning, and there was no doubt in my mind that her comment was a direct dig at me.

I sat up straight, placing my fork down, and locked eyes with her. I was ready to face whatever she had to say, and I wasn’t going to back down or rely on indirect communication.

“Alpha Bellamy,” she spoke his name, drawing his attention away from his plate. He hadn’t caught wind of the situation unfolding so far.

“Yes?” he responded, his smile still in place.

“Do you believe this showcases a fitting example of a Luna in front of the young ones? Her leaping from one bed to another?” Patricia’s comment hit me like a punch to the gut. Ariel serenely lifted a glass of juice and took a sip, her demeanor suggesting she was relishing the impending spectacle of my humiliation before everyone. “Patricia, please, finish your meal,” Bellamy gently shook his head at her, a silent plea in his eyes for her to cease. “No, it’s alright. Let her speak her mind,” I interjected, and now all eyes were on me. Even my mates were gazing my way. Wolvin, who had been seated at the table’s end and not partaking in the meal that had been prepared, seemed to have chosen some fruits to nibble on instead. He turned his attention towards me as well.

“She’s a wild one. If you don’t tame her quickly, she’ll take the reins from you,” Patricia, an old-school woman, cautioned Bellamy. Her words carried an air of warning and wisdom.

“That’s precisely why it’s perilous when you feel a mate bond with someone royal. They behave as they please. I even witnessed her leaving one man’s room and then entering another’s last night. The cycle repeated until morning,” another woman added, shaking her head and expressing exasperation.

“I’d appreciate it if no one would presume to–” I didn’t let Bellamy speak up on my behalf. It was my responsibility to address this issue myself. It pertained to me and my character.

“Thank you for attempting to enlighten them, but I believe I’ll continue from here,” I offered Bellamy a smile as I rose from my seat.

“So, how do you view the Moon Goddess?” I inquired, addressing both the ladies and the gentlemen seated at the table. They exchanged glances before Patricia took the lead in responding.

“She’s akin to a mother to us. She watches over us and bestows upon us all that we possess,” she responded with a mix of confidence and reverence. The others seemed to be in agreement, and I noticed my mates casting curious looks in my direction, awaiting my next move.

“Now, what are your thoughts on a mate bond?” I pressed further, my attention shifting to Ariel, who was narrowing her eyes at her glass as if trying to anticipate the game I was playing with these individuals.

“It’s a sacred and precious bond,” the elderly lady interjected, her voice carrying a tone of respect. “A gift bestowed upon us by the Moon Goddess.”

I nodded to myself and then smiled, proceeding with my next question. “But what if the Moon Goddess grants someone a mate, and they reject or evade that connection?”

The expressions on their faces were quite something. Disgust and disbelief etched across their features, directed toward anyone who might consider such an action.

“That’s utterly repulsive. Why would anyone defy the choice of the Moon Goddess? If she designates a mate for someone, they should accept that choice and nurture the bond,” Patricia’s confidence radiated as she spoke, and her people responded with applause, showing their agreement.

“Then, let me ask you something, Mrs. Patricia,” I leaned forward over the table, locking eyes with her. I could sense that she hadn’t anticipated what I was about to say next.

“I was gifted three fated mates. I sensed the mate bond with them, and I even married them. So, if I’m dedicating time to them, honoring the choice made by the Moon Goddess herself, then who are you to SLUT SHAME ME?” My voice harsh as I reached the end of my statement, punctuating it with the forceful slam of my hand on the table.

A hush fell over the table, gasps echoing through the room. “Aren’t you, in fact, disrespecting the choices of the Moon Goddess by hurling insults at me? She bestowed upon me these mates, and any derogatory language you’re using is essentially a reproach to her,” I concluded, observing her face turn visibly paler as her confidence waned.

“You shouldn’t have gone there,” the other woman, who had previously been critical of me, reprimanded Patricia, distancing herself from her.

“Bravo!” Wolvin applauded loudly, his cheers in support of me resonating through the room.

“That will be all,” I offered a dramatic bow to the assembly before I withdrew from their presence.
