True Luna by Tessa Lilly (The Darkness Within)

The White Wolf Series Book 5 – CHAPTER NINETEEN – Finally Free

(Sophia’s POV)

I was finally in full control of my powers.

The chains around my body felt like strings. The magic that was used to keep mine bound felt like a soft breeze on my skin.

I had my full power and I would get my revenge against those who kept me locked up in here.

I broke one of the chains around my waist, making the witch in the corner flinch.

I laughed and turned my head to look at her.

“Don’t be scared,” I said, smiling at her. “It is just one of many chains keeping me your prisoner.”

She glanced at the broken chain and approached me. I could see her trembling and I reveled in it. Her fear only fueled my magic.

Another chain broke, but this time I didn’t do it on purpose. It was only an accident. I got a bit too excited when I smelled the fear on her skin.

She ran toward the door and I knew that she was going to call him. If I didn’t want him in here I would be annoyed. Every time I did something, the witches would call him. Every time a chain broke or every time I threatened them, they would call him. It was pathetic, really. They were witches and they were afraid of me. They relied on a mere werewolf to save them. I had to stifle a laugh. They had more chances against me than him.

But it worked for me. I wanted him to come this time. I wanted him to see the mistake he made. He was nothing compared to me. He was a pathetic little wolf who thought he could control the pure darkness that was inside me. He got lucky because I didn’t know how to control the magic and the sudden rush of power. He was lucky that the witches found a spell to slow me down.

But that was all it did. It slowed me down. It didn’t stop me. Nothing could stop me.

“Sir!” she screamed. “She broke them again.”

I smiled and looked at the ceiling. I couldn’t wait for him to walk through those doors. I couldn’t wait to see life leave his pathetic body.

The door opened and he walked inside. I turned my head to my left and smiled at him.

“Will you stop?” he sighed. “You are not getting out of these chains.”

Oh, if he only knew.

“Did you find my weakness yet?” I asked mockingly.

I saw him smirk and the anger inside me grew.

“It’s got to be that weak grandson of mine,” he said, smirking at me like he just discovered my biggest secret. “A wolf’s mate is their biggest strength and their biggest weakness.”

I laughed. Did he really think that I cared about some mate I saw a few times? I didn’t even feel the bond anymore. I couldn’t care less about what happened to him.

“Oh, please, Richard,” I said as I stopped laughing. “I don’t even have a connection with my wolf anymore. Why would I care about some imaginary bond some deity created?”

His eyes widened and this time I smirked at him.

It was getting harder and harder to control my magic. I wanted to kill him now. I wanted to kill them all now. On the other hand, I wanted to see him sweat a little bit before I ended his life.

He gulped and clenched his fists.

“Fine,” he said, shrugging like he didn’t care. “You do have a twin brother, don’t you? Maybe you don’t care about your mate bond, but you do care about the man you grew up with.”

He was wrong again. I smiled at him and shook my head.

“I really don’t,” I said. “And even if he was my weakness, you wouldn’t be able to get to him. He is powerful and my mother wouldn’t let you hurt him.”

A quiet growl escaped him. I enjoyed hearing it. It meant that I was getting under his skin. Too bad I wouldn’t stay there long. After the fire I would create, there wouldn’t be a skin to be under anymore.

“She let us hurt you,” he said and forced a smile on his face. “She loves him more, doesn’t she?”

Did he really think it would work? The only thing his words did was make me want to laugh at his stupid face.

“You really enjoy being wrong, don’t you, Richard?” I asked, holding back a chuckle. “You were wrong when you thought that you could control me. You were wrong when you thought that I had a weakness. You were wrong when you thought that these chains would hold me captive until you set me free.”

I broke three more, making him jump back and look at the chains on my

body. I broke two more, making his eyes widen.

“Samantha!” he screamed, making me laugh loudly.

I heard footsteps rushing toward the cell I was in.

I knew who that b*itch was. She was their freaking leader and the strongest witch they had. She wasn’t strong enough to take me down, though. No one was strong enough to take me down.

The door opened and she ran inside. Her eyes found mine and she started mumbling incantations.

I laughed. Her magic was nothing compared to mine. I couldn’t even feel it. I broke all of the chains on my body and sat up for the first time in days, maybe even weeks. I lost track of time being trapped in this hellhole.

I looked at Richard and almost squealed with happiness when I saw pure terror in his eyes.

“I told you that nothing can stop me,” I said, smirking at him. “I told you that you were wrong.”

He looked at Samantha and growled loudly.

“Do something!” he screamed at her.

“I am trying!” the b*itch shouted, making me look at her. “It isn’t working.” They were terrified and I wasn’t even doing anything yet. Oh, how it made me happy. I enjoyed their fear. They didn’t realize it, but it only made me stronger.

“Sir!” I heard someone scream outside. “Her family is here!”

Richard’s eyes widened. He looked at me and clenched his fists.

“How the f*uck did they found us?!” Samantha yelled at him.

“I have no f*ucking idea,” Richard growled. “Knock her out. I will deal with them.”

I smirked as I watched him walk away. He kept glancing at me, terrified that I would do something.

Oh, and I would.

I used my magic to slam the door shut.

“Where are you going, Richard?” I asked, tilting my head to the side. “We just started having fun.”
