True Luna by Tessa Lilly (The Darkness Within)
The White Wolf Series Book 5 – CHAPTER FORTY-ONE – I Am A Murderer
(Alexander’s POV)
I was stunned.
Why did she want everyone to leave?
“Oh, my baby,” my mom mumbled as she took her from my dad. “I love you so much.”

Fia looked at me and I saw pure panic in her eyes. The fear exploded inside me and I pulled her from our mom. She wrapped her arms around my n*eck and I hugged her tightly.
Please, Lex. She cried out through the mind-link.
“All of you need to leave,” I said immediately. “Now.”
The room was silent for a few moments. Everyone was staring at me like I lost my mind. Hunter looked like he was going to rip my throat out. “Leave the room!” I repeated, pulling her closer to me. “Now!”
“Alexander…,” Hunter spoke angrily as he tried to approach me.
“You too, Hunter,” I said, tightening my arms around her. “Leave. I will let you all know when you can come back.”
Hunter clenched his fists and looked at Fia.
“What’s wrong, Angel?” Hunter asked, his voice trembling. “Whatever it is, we will figure it out.”
He sat next to us and placed a hand on Fia’s back. She tensed up and tightened her arms around my n*eck.
“Hunter,” I growled. “Don’t do this. Leave the room.”
Hunter growled back at me.
“She is my mate!” he exclaimed. “You can’t tell me to leave! I won’t leave!”
Fia sobbed, making Hunter gasp and grab her. I growled loudly and tightened my arms around her as tightly as I could without hurting her. “Hunter, honey, let’s wait outside,” Hunter’s mom interfered. “Let Sophia talk to her brother.”
Hunter’s eyes were wide. He was breathing heavily. His eyes kept flickering as he and his wolf were fighting for dominance.
I didn’t give a s*hit about him, though. Fia was shaking and I could feel her panic increasing.
“I will come to talk to you as soon as possible,” I told him, trying to keep calm. “Leave, please.”
I looked up at my mom and dad. They were both looking at Sophia and I could see the pain on their faces. Mason and Uncle Andrew looked scared. Hunter’s parents approached him and pulled him up. He looked like he was going to faint.
“We will wait outside,” Anna said quietly as everyone finally started to move.
I watched them leave the room and I was trying so f*ucking hard to remain calm. It felt like my heart was going to jump out of my c*hest.
Why did she want them gone? Why did she want her own mate gone? What the hell happened?
Hunter was the last one to leave the room. The further he walked away, the worse he looked. I felt bad for him, but Fia was my priority. If she didn’t want him in the room, I would make sure that he wasn’t there.
I waited until I heard the front door of the cabin close. I rubbed her back gently and took a deep breath.
“They are gone, Fia,” I said softly. “What is wrong? It is just you and me now. Talk to me, Fia, please.”
She let me go slowly and lifted her head. She looked around the room and sobbed. The fear and pain I saw in her eyes made my stomach twist. “I am a murderer,” she said quietly as he looked down at her lap. “I killed all those witches. I killed Hunter’s grandfather. I killed…”
Her voice broke and she sobbed again.
I was too stunned to move. She killed the f*uckers who took her and tortured her. We would do the same f*ucking thing if she didn’t beat us to it. I would torture the living s*hit out of Hunter’s grandfather and I was sure that Hunter would join me.
“The things I said to mom_,” she continued as she looked up at me. Her eyes widened and her breath got caught in her throat.
“The things I said to you…,” she mumbled and tried to move away from
me.
I grabbed her tightly.
“What the f*uck are you talking about, Sophia?” I growled. “Do you really think that any of that matters? What do you think we would do to those f*uckers who took you? Do you think that I care about the things you said while you were consumed by that f*ucking demon? Do you think that Mom cares?”
I was holding her tightly. The emotions that I had were hard to control. I was angry. I was scared. I was in pain.
I took a deep breath and pulled her into a hug. I placed my hand on her head and held her close to me.
“Goddess, Fia, we don’t care about anything you did or said,” I mumbled. “We are just so f*ucking happy to have you back. I thought that I lost you. I thought that I would never get to see you again. I don’t give a s*hit about anything other than having you in my arms right now.”
She sobbed and wrapped her arms around me. I lowered my head and k*issed her temple.
“I love you,” I told her. “I missed you.”
I was so freaked out with everything that was going on that I didn’t even realize that I got her back.
I got my Fia back.
I closed my eyes and felt something wet on my cheeks.
I never cried. I never let myself cry.
But I couldn’t hold back my tears any longer.
I thought that I lost her. I thought that I would never see her again. I thought that my twin was gone.
“I love you too,” she said quietly. “I am sorry for everything that I said and did. I didn’t mean it. I didn’t…”
Her voice broke and another sob escaped her.
“I know, Fia, I know,” I said as I started rocking us back and forth. “You don’t have to apologize, Fia. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
She tightened her hold on me and pressed her head more into my c*hest.
I should have known this would happen. Her biggest fear was that she was going to hurt someone with her darkness and it came true. The demon killed someone. It hurt her family. It did what Fia was most afraid of.
My heart broke for her and more tears fell on my cheeks.
“We will go through it together, Fia,” I said, my voice raspy and laced with
pain. “I am here and I am not leaving you.”
She sobbed and I tightened my hold on her.
“I am here, Fia,” I repeated. “I will always be here.”
I buried my nose into her hair and took a deep breath. I was telling her the truth. I would never let her go and I would never leave her. She was my twin and I was going to do everything I had to do to help her.
